WWE blocks Kairi Sane from performing.

Advertisements

Even though she asked, Kairi Hojo (Kairi Sane) was unable to get WWE permission to do the show. They had left it up to WWE.

Kairi Sane went back to the United States after a good run in WWE. She could have accomplished more, but she is happy with what she was able to achieve. She is still under WWE contract and that comes with restrictions.

STARDOM is booking their huge Budokan Hall show on March 3rd, and they wanted Kairi Sane on the card. Since she is in Japan, they wouldn’t be directly competing with WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE rejected that idea and Sane will not be allowed to perform on the STARDOM event. They pitched two different matches for her, but WWE nixed both ideas.

Even though she asked, Kairi Hojo (Kairi Sane) was unable to get WWE permission to do the show. They had left it up to WWE.

They wanted her in a big singles match but also offered WWE having her do a Rumble with legends.

Sane is still under contract to WWE and works as a Japanese ambassador.

Keith Lee, not top WWE star to Vince McMahon.

Advertisements

Fans looking to see Keith Lee pushed to the top of the card may have to wait and there’s no guarantee that he will be more than a mid-card guy.

Ringside News reports that there is pushback behind-the-scenes on Lee.

The feeling from people in the company is that Lee is incredibly gifted and moves well for his size but Vince McMahon reportedly feels that there’s a certain spark missing with him.

One tenured writer reportedly stated to RSN that Lee’s promos have not caught fire but nobody is excelling with promos except for a few names such as Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Randy Orton, Edge, The Street Profits, and Lacey Evans.

Advertisements

It was noted several weeks ago that Lee was one of the names that were sent to get some more training at the Performance Center.

Lee was scheduled to wrestle for the United States Championship this Sunday’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view but there was nothing said about him this Monday on Raw and his status for the pay-per-view is still up in the air.

Booker T react to Undertaker’s ‘Today’s wrestlers are soft’ comment.

Advertisements

They were drinking and smoking cigarettes. There was some gambling going on and I was like, ‘Wow, this is cool. I want to be part of this right here.’

On a recent episode of “The Hall Of Fame” podcast, Booker T gave his opinion of The Undertaker’s comments of today’s wrestlers being soft.

Booker said, “I remember the first time Haku got my brother and I back in the locker room in WWF back in The Summit. We walked in the locker room, and this is no joke, Hulk Hogan, and, I don’t know, Macho Man Savage, and a few more of the guys were at a table. They were playing cards. They were drinking and smoking cigarettes. There was some gambling going on and I was like, ‘Wow, this is cool. I want to be part of this right here.’

File Photo: WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T | Noble Reporters Media | Adigun Michael Olamide | NoRM News

It was a bunch of men in the locker room. There wasn’t anything soft about those guys when I first saw them. It was a bunch of grown men in the locker room. I wanted to be a part of that. I wasn’t a guy that played cards, but I just wanted to be around it and see what it felt like. You walk in the locker room today and it’s going to be totally different than it was back then. You say, perhaps for the better, and in a lot of ways, I think so as well, but, the soft comment that The Undertaker said.

Advertisements

I need guys to understand when going out and making the fans feel a certain way, I think that’s what The Undertaker was talking about. For 30 years, The Undertaker made you feel a certain way. I can honestly tell you this and believe it 100% if The Undertaker was going to have one of those knock down, drag out matches with HHH or The Rock or whoever from back in the day when he dove over the top rope and crashed and burned, like the last one that almost killed him, and then put a tweet out, Undertaker would not be The Undertaker to me.

The feel of The Undertaker wasn’t just his in-ring persona. We have believed in The Undertaker. That’s why we as the boys look at The Undertaker a certain way. We have believed in him for 30 years because he went out there and performed a certain way and he believed in, there again, the character. As far as the business goes, keep our secrets under wraps and I think that’s what The Undertaker was talking about.”

Undertaker’s ‘today’s wrestlers are soft’ comment call on Mark Henry’s reaction.

Advertisements

You go out there and you beat the hell out of somebody. Then the fight spills into the back and everybody’s entertained.

In response to some of the controversy stirred up by The Undertaker’s comments on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Mark Henry gave his thoughts on whether today’s wrestlers are soft.

Here are excerpts from his answer:

“Yea, guys were a little bit wilder. Guys were a little bit impulsive back then, but the men were still as tough now as they were then. We’re a corporate industry now. You have to have some decorum. You have to have some class otherwise you will not be employed by any of those companies. They recruit a certain type of guy. Recruiting wild cannons and guys that you didn’t know if they were going to show up high or they got arrested the night before, you can’t employ those guys. Taker was right to an extent. He should have said wild cannons and guys that were quick to get angry. It was a badge of honor at times to show your toughness. You go out there and you beat the hell out of somebody. Then the fight spills into the back and everybody’s entertained.

It’s a different time…I came in the early ‘90s and there were guys that tried to take liberties with me. There was stuff that happened in the locker room that was looked at as unspeakable…I can tell you, some of those guys against John Morrison, against Bobby Lashley, Matt Riddle, these guys can really fight. They know the strategy of how to fight…There were tough guys in both eras…Taker wasn’t wrong because guys back then carried guns in their briefcases or a knife or a crowbar. Sh*t went down. Guys were ready and accepting of it, but also you could go to the local cops and go, ‘Hey man. This never happened. Can I get you some front row tickets?’ Nine times out of ten, it got squashed and never hit the news. Now, everybody has a camera. You can’t do all the stuff that guys did back then.

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine having a gun in the locker room and the gun going off, like, bro, if that happened today, you would face federal jail time. That’s why things aren’t the way they used to be, not just the fact that it’s a corporate company and you don’t want to make those mistakes in the first place because you’ll never work again. Taker was right. There was a level of wildness, Wild Wild West, that doesn’t exist today. That’s what he meant. I think people took it out of context actually. I heard what he said and I agree with what he said, it’s just I didn’t agree with how he said it. The description of what it was, was off.

Advertisements

Even me, I had to choke people and threaten people’s life. I would never do that today because I wouldn’t have to. Nobody messes with me like that. It was different. I was in defense mode. I was so stressed a lot of times when I went in the locker room because I didn’t know what was going to happen. Me and the Rock, we always had our locker right next to each other. I came in and saw people laughing and giggling and running away from where our lockers were. Dwayne would pack chicken breasts and broccoli and stuff to get in the car because he was a body guy. I saw his box was open. I grabbed the box and was going to close it and I looked in it and there was sht in it. Somebody sht in his food box, so of course, I have to dispose of this and tell him, ‘Hey man, don’t leave your food in here.’ They were envious of us new guys coming in.

We have developmental contracts or a full contract in my case. They hated us. They thought we were taking their jobs. That was the mentality, not making the business better because we didn’t grind like they did. We didn’t go through the ringer. We didn’t get brought into the business hard like they did. I respect how hard they were brought into the business but you can’t expect the world to be the same to everybody else as it was to you. You’re supposed to make it easier on the next generation, right? You would think.”

WWE, AEW with collaboration possibilities – Kurt Angle hint.

WWE doesn’t want AEW to succeed as they’ve tried to sign as much talent as possible, keep their own talent under contract

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle took part in a Q&A session on his Facebook page where he talked about a wide range of topics.

Advertisements

During the Q&A, he was asked about a possible collaboration between AEW and WWE. Obviously, the chances of these two promotions working together aren’t likely.

While AEW has working relationships with several promotions such as AAA, Impact Wrestling, and NJPW, the likelihood of WWE wanting to work with them is the challenge in the way of this happening.

File Photo: WWE Hall of Famer, Kurt Angle | Noble Reporters Media | Adigun Michael Olamide | NoRM News

Clearly, WWE doesn’t want AEW to succeed as they’ve tried to sign as much talent as possible, keep their own talent under contract by offering them big money long term deals, and moving NXT to the USA Network to go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.

“WWE is its own entity, an enormous company. They won’t ever collaborate with another promotion. They don’t have to. But, I don’t think it would hurt them to do it.”

Angle was also asked about the future of the current competition between them.

“I think it’s very promising. Competition is always good. It’s going to be interesting between WWE and AEW.”

Just in: Edge discusses reunion interest in ex tag partner.

Although the two stars have found great success as singles stars, they also had a very successful run as a tag team.

Edge made his big return at last year’s Royal Rumble and this year, his former tag team partner, Christian, also made his in-ring return at the event.

Both stars had been retired for several years due to them not being medically cleared to compete as Edge had neck issues while Christian had a history of concussions.

Now, the best friends are back wrestling for the company. Although the two stars have found great success as singles stars, they also had a very successful run as a tag team.

Thus, Edge would be interested in doing another tag team run, which is something that he spoke with The Metro about.

‘I would love it! I think at some point that would need to happen -just because there’s so many opportunities there. Between Edge and Christian against The Usos – I mean, man! Edge and Christian against The New Day, Edge and Christian against Ziggler and Roode, Edge and Christian versus the Street Profits. Not for nothing, Edge and Christian versus Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. There’s some stuff there.”

Edge also talked about Christian getting medically cleared, his return at the Royal Rumble and more.

WWE has announced the release of SmackDown star Steve Cutler.

The company issued the standard statement they send out when they release a wrestler: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Steve Cutler. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Cutler has been with the company since 2014 and was brought up to the main roster last year alongside Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker as part of The Forgotten Sons.

The group disappeared from WWE TV several months ago until Ryker was brought back as part of the Raw roster with Elias.

Meanwhile, Cutler and Wesley Blake were added to King Corbin’s act as the Knights of the Lone Wolf.

It’s not clear if this is just a one-off or the beginning of a wave of releases as the company often does to cut costs.

Last month, Lars Sullivan was released by the company but his release was not related to budget cuts.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio were COVID-19 positive?

Advertisements

Rey noted that the first several days and final day he had was the worst while dealing with headaches and backache.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio have publicly come out and revealed that they both had COVID-19.

The father and son were on Start Today with Chris Cavallini where they shared the news. They had it back in December.

The former WWE Champion noted that his parents got the virus. Ironically, Rey and his family were taking care of them so they wouldn’t get it.

Then the parents passed it to their housekeeper who passed it onto Mysterio’s wife.

Advertisements

He spent three days with his wife before flying to Tampa for the December 11th SmackDown TV event, which was also his birthday.

This is when he learned the housekeeper was positive, but he found out before he got to the ThunderDome.

They didn’t want to risk passing it even though at the time Rey, his wife, Dominik, and daughter all tested negative. They flew home the following day.

That night, Mysterio said he and his wife felt “really sick”, had a headache and were achy. To be cautious, they stayed away from everyone for two days and got positive test results back on Tuesday.

Then, Dominik started to get symptoms on Tuesday and felt sick the following day before he tested positive on Thursday.

The entire household was quarantining from each other including the housekeeper when this happened.

Aalayh was the only family member in the house that didn’t get the virus so she took care of everyone.

Rey noted that the first several days and final day he had was the worst while dealing with headaches and backache.

He didn’t have any other symptoms. He detailed it the experience was a 7 out of 1-10 on a scale of how bad it was.

He felt like a really bad flu at times while Dominik said he had a headache, chills, and a body ache, but felt fine otherwise.

The first two entrants (Edge and Randy Orton) were announced last night on WWE Backstage.

Edge decided to walk out first and he attacked Orton during his entrance. They fought around ringside for the first few minutes.

Edge beat up on Orton until Sami Zayn entered and helped Orton. Mustafa Ali joined in to help Orton and Zayn.

Orton took out everyone in the ring and then he and Edge resumed their fight around ringside.

Edge hit an Edgecution on Orton on the announcer’s table and then referees ran out to stop him from beating Orton with a chair.

Orton was helped to the back because of his bad knee. It was noted by Corey Graves that Orton was never officially eliminated.

During The Miz’s entrance, he destroyed Bad Bunny’s DJ set up that was used during the musical performance.

Bad Bunny walked out and was held back by referees but the distraction allowed Damian Preist to eliminated Miz and Morrison. Bad Bunny did a dive off the top rope onto Miz and Morrison.
