MI beef ‘fetched’ me lot of money – Vector reveals.

Advertisements

The beef which began as one line disses from various tracks by the rappers evolved to diss tracks by both heavyweights in the music industry.

One of the most iconic ‘beef’ in the Nigeria music industry was between ace rap artistes, Vector and his colleague MI which spanned for close to a decade.

In entertainment, beef is a word often used to describe disagreement between celebrities

The beef which began as one line disses from various tracks by the rappers evolved to diss tracks by both heavyweights in the music industry.

In October 2019, MI released the diss track, The Viper, aimed at Vector whose pseudonym is Vector The Viper. In the same month, Vector hit back with the track, Judas the rat; as MI’s real name is Jude Abaga.

Recently, there was a reconciliation between the two hip-hop head courtesy of an alcoholic brand and they have made a song together, Crown Of Clay, which will be on Vector’s forthcoming album, T.E.S.L.I.M, to the delight of their fans.

Speaking about his feud with MI, Vector noted that he made money from their diss. He made this statement during a media parley as the rap artiste spoke on his forthcoming project, T.E.S.L.I.M.

“Yes I made money from the beef tracks I did for MI. The records sold. There seems to be a ‘sweetness’ that comes with beef records. So they were streamed a lot. We trended at number 2 in the US, both verses trended at number one on, Genius, the lyrics website. Which means that Nigerians can write what the whole world can read and understand and we will trend. So yes, there was that,” he said.

Advertisements

He further revealed that the alcoholic brand who brokered the peace deal made monetary offers. He said, “Of course, I was paid by the brand. How would that have been? That the brand would come, offer us alcohol and record the reconciliation? No.

“There is still business going on. And that is also one of the highlights that you can share with up and coming rappers. Don’t be stupid to pick a fight over growth. You must know when to stop being hard-headed as a person. A lot of brands had called to make the reconciliation happen but I guess it had to be them.”

Vector stated that his beef with MI exposed some ‘fake friends’.

“You will be amazed by the kind of realizations that you encounter when you speak with the person that you had beef with. You will realize the people that are with you but ‘are not with you.’ I saw it with him and he saw it with me. People that wanted to be relevant in the argument. People that I thought were my guys that would call him. It helped expose people that would not have been exposed if there was no beef. We understood that,” the rapper said.

Commenting on his forthcoming album, T.E.S.L.I.M, he said the idea of the album name came to him while he was staring at his father’s casket.

He said, “TESLIM as an album. First, I had just released the Lafiaji album and when we were gearing up to make the album, my dad died. That energy just sunk the idea. We were at the funeral home when a friend of mine whispered to another friend that he should observe my looks as I was in deep thoughts. I was staring at my dad’s casket when it dawned on me, TESLIM, you are gone but your energy still remains. I took the letters to his name and it made the acronym; T.E.S.L.I.M, which stands for The Energy Still Lives In Me.”

He said the federal government is ready for a COVID-19 vaccine that will save lives. He said about N400 billion would be required to vaccinate 70 percent of Nigeria’s over 200 million population, at $8 per person.

The minister added that N156 billion will be needed in 2021 while N200 billion will be used for vaccination in 2022. On the issue of storage, the minister explained that the COVID-19 vaccines will be stored in the same storage facilities (cold chains) used to store the polio vaccines.

Responding, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, expressed lack of confidence in the ability of the federal ministry of health to effectively store and distribute the COVID-19 vaccines when they arrive in the country.

He said the national assembly is ready to support funding of the vaccines, but added that more needs to be done on the part of the ministry.

Be yourself and don’t forget about what people says – Vector.

Nigerian rapper, Vector has advised Nigerians to be good at what they do and keep doing it irrespective of what everyone else is engaged in.

His advise is coming at a time that peer pressure is on the increase as a result of social media influence and other societal factors. According to Vector, it is generally agreeable that there is something wrong but what matters most is being able to contribute ones quota to societal machinations geared towards progress and development.

The “King Kong” rapper who took to his Twitter handle to make the statement also said if something is good support it and continue in your pursuit of greatness.

“We can all agree that we know there is something wrong but the correction will always involve doing in your own bit to add to the collective doings of the rest. “If you be anything, be am well… no worry about wetin the rest dey do. If e good support am and continue your own.” he wrote.

Only selfish people shout in church – Vector

Nigerian rapper, Vector has taken a swipe at people who believe that ”God will hear them more when they shout in church.”

According to the rapper, such act shows how selfish people are because they want God to answer them first.

“Why the hell do people shout in church believing God would hear them more. If anything, it shows how selfish we are cos the volume increases mostly cos the individual vuvuzela wants “God” to answer him/her first. That! My brethren, isn’t Christian. That’s competition”

‘Judas the rat’ – Vector’s Diss Replied MI Abaga.

The Nigerian rap industry is about to go explosive even in the most alarming fashion! Vector “Judas The Rat “ has finally responded to MI’ Abaga’s diss rap; “The Viper.” Just as expected, Vector made a narrative of many alleged dark sides of MI and really looked to hit him hard where it would hurt the most.

This over 4 minutes record is expository and ridiculing! Vector even in some stylish way dragged MI’s brother; Jeese Jagz, in the record and made sure MI was painted black for his failings. This record, however, would make even the long-standing beef between the two arch-rivals come to a conclusion that truce might not be called anytime soon.

Vector “Judas The Rat” and this is in response to MI calling him a “Snake.” Listen to the record and share your thoughts. Did Vector Bury MI or he still a record away from being equal?
