Authur will travel to Turin nextweek for medicals

The agreement between Arthur Melo and Juventus is now a reality. As is the deal between Pjanic and Barcelona and between the two clubs. The three parties are now all on the same pages and the deal, which has been brewing for months, is finally in the final stages. The last part was convincing Arthur to embark on a new adventure in Italy.

Up until a few days ago, the Brazilian midfielder was still adamant that he wanted to succeed at Barça at any cost. In the end, he’s accepted a move to Juve, where he will earn more money (5 million plus bonuses) and will sign a five-year deal. Meanwhile, Pjanic was always open to the Barça move and will sign a five-year deal earning around 7.5 million.

Arthur, 23, seven years Pjanic’s junior, is expected to travel to Turin this week to undergo a medical, according to RAC1. Barça will give him permission to head to the north of Italy. Despite that, Pjanic, like Arthur, will remain with their current teams until the end of the Champions League in August.

It had been reported Ronaldo’s plane was being grounded in Madrid due to travel restrictions imposed as a result of coronavirus.

However, Corriere dello Sport and Corriere della Sera among others claim the plane touched down in Funchal earlier and that the No 7 could be back in Italy before the day is out.

Indeed, Flightradar24 shows a Gulfstream G200 Galaxy passing the Spanish capital, purported to be his private jet.

The 35-year-old will observe two weeks of self-isolation before resuming training with the Juve squad.

Milan 1-1 Juventus: Report, Ratings &amp Reactions

A controversial late Cristiano Ronaldo penalty gave Juventus an undeserved draw in their Coppa Italia semi final clash against ten-men AC Milan, cancelling out Ante Rebić’s sliding finish in a 1-1 encounter in Thursday’s first leg.

Milan created the clearest chances in the first half, with Gianluigi Buffon making good saves to deny Davide Calabria and Rebić. On the other hand, La Vecchia Signora struggled to fashion chances for themselves and looked lethargic in their attacks.

Juventus Hopeful Of Signing Icardi

Juventus Chief Hopeful of Signing Mauro Icardi Despite PSG’s Interest in permanent deal.

Juventus chief Fabio Paratici remains hopeful of bringing Mauro Icardi back to Italy, despite Paris Saint-Germain leading the race for his signature on a permanent basis.

The Argentine forward has enjoyed a prosperous loan spell with PSG, scoring 14 goals in just 18 appearances. As a result, the French giants are interested in bringing Icardi to Parc des Princes permanently in summer.

But Juventus, who were interested in signing the 26-year-old in the summer, aren’t giving up on their pursuit of the striker.

Mauro Icardi

According to Calcio Mercato, PSG have a deal with parent club Inter to sign the striker for €70m at the end of the current season.

However, Juventus are hoping to lure the striker back to Italy where he has played the majority of his career, scoring 124 times in 219 appearances for Sampdoria and Inter. The temptation of returning to Serie A with the league’s biggest club may be a temptation too difficult to refuse for Icardi, especially given the ageing profile of the Old Lady’s current attackers.

It seems all but certain that PSG will win Ligue 1 for yet another year, currently sitting seven points clear of second place Marseille with a game in hand. But Icardi’s decision could depend on the respective Champions League successes of those courting him, with both sides desperate to be crowned champions of Europe.

Mauro Icardi
Thomas Tuchel will undoubtedly want to keep the Argentine around, especially given Edinson Cavani’s potential departure at the end of the season as his contract runs out in summer. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar will most certainly be linked with moves to La Liga come the end of the current campaign.

Juventus are more than aware of Icardi’s quality and with Mario Mandzukic having recently left for Qatar, as well as Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo both being over 32, the Turin side may have issues up top next season.

Maurizio Sarri has already added 19-year-old Dejan Kulusevski to his ranks, but the Swedish attacker has been loaned back to Parma.
