2023: How Oshiomhole will work against Tinubu – Chieftain

Charles Idahosa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has warned APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu to beware of the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.

Idahosa said Oshiomhole will disappoint Bola Tinubu because of his ambition to become the vice-president.

He alleged that the APC’s National Chairman has pledged his allegiance to a Northern presidential candidate in 2023.

Idahosa made the allegation while speaking with Daily Independent.

He said: “I feel so sorry for Tinubu because he doesn’t know who Oshiomhole is. I am aware he is one of those giving him support as the National chairman.

“Oshiomhole will disappoint him seriously. He will not support him in 2023, he can take that to the bank.

Adams Oshiomhole | Bola Ahmed Tinubu

“Tinubu is one of the people supporting him as National chairman thinking that Oshiomhole will use his influence as National chairman to make him get the (2023)ticket.

”What he doesn’t know is that Oshiomhole’s ambition is to become Vice- President to a northern presidential candidate in 2023. He is going to pair a northern candidate against the interest of Tinubu.”

Operation Amotekun: We are finding out the true Tinubu

“Òro se ni wò, ká lè m’eni tó fé ni.”
– Yorùbá Aphorism
Translation: “Be afflicted and know those who love you.”

“Ká rìn gèrè, ká f’esè ko, ká w’eni tí ó se ‘ni pèlé.”
– Yorùbá Aphorism
Translation: “You know your true friends in time of trial.”

Time is a very powerful element in nature. Time derobes and robes. It disarms and arms. It convicts and acquits. Time exculpates and exonerates. Time vindicates and rehabilitates. It corroborates and extenuates. With time, assumptions are confirmed or thrown to the curb as baseless and vacuous. Time is never oblivious. Neither is it ever stagnant. It is ever conscious. It never sleeps.

In Nature, there are legion of variables. These variables are centripetal to the definitive characteristic of Nature. But there are very few tools of Nature. Among the few tools is Providence which some would understand or characterize as a sort of Divine Intervention. Providence intervenes at auspicious times, to salve, save, salvage or sink, sag or submerge.

The awesomeness of the ways of Providence is why it is viewed as Divine Intervention by many. It is why it is viewed with amazement by not a few. This is because at the intervention of Providence, all doubts are erased. All prevarications are vacated. All caviling are crammed. All carping are cramped. The rain would be gone, completely. And the people would be able to see very clearly, crystally. Translucently.

As to the true identity of Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), with every passing second, every passing minute, hour, days, weeks, months and years, we are finding out who he is and what he is about. With the manifestation of every important event in the trajectory of the Yorùbá Nation, we are finding out what he is about.

The Yorùbá Nation in every hour of its need had found Bola Ahmed Tinubu wanting. It has found him absent. The Yorùbá Nation is earnestly searching for him in its hour of acridity

BAT has had several opportunities. He has had several chances of rebirth. He has missed them all and has continued to miss them.

When the Yorùbá were murdered in Ile-Ife, Bola Tinubu was nowhere to be found to defend the Yorùbá people. He was nowhere to be found in the defence of the people he claims to lead. The rest of Yorùbá sons, who escaped being murdered by the prowling Fulani territorial adventurists were rounded up and taken to Abuja to be tried, Tinubu had no courage to stand up for them. He could not be found.

When the Fulani went on rampage at Ketu in Lagos, burning and murdering the Yorùbá owners of the land, the self-acclaimed “Asíwájú” could not be found. He could not stand up for the Yorùbá victims of usurpers of the Oòduà land. He was silent deafeningly. He was not willing to offend his Fulani masters to whom he has sold the Yorùbá Race, the Yorùbá Nation. The Yorùbá people who have offered him support when he needed it.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been found wanting when Yorùbá farms were being invaded, when our investments were being destroyed by Fulani herdsmen, when our sons and daughters were being murdered on their farms. Tinubu has repeatedly refused to stand up for Yorùbá sons and daughters, when they were being kidnapped, killed and extorted.

Not a word on record has he said unequivocally, in support of the Yorùbá sons and daughters across the aisle. He was silent when Chief Olu Falae was kidnapped and his farm invaded. He was silent when Chief Falae’s guard was kidnapped and killed. When the daughter of Afenifere leader was murdered, Tinubu’s way of commiserating was asking, “Where are the cows?”

Now, Àmòtékùn has become an issue, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Tinubu is nowhere to be found again. The self-acclaimed “Asíwájú” has become an absentee one. At every turn when he is expected to stand up for the Yorùbá people, the Yorùbá Nation, the Yorùbá sons and daughters, Tinubu has always been found wanting.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu at every turn, at every opportunity, at every chance he gets or he has gotten, he has had no qualms, he has had no problems, throwing under the bus, the Yorùbá Nation to please his Fulani masters. To Tinubu, it does not matter how many Yorùbá sons and daughters are murdered or maimed. It doesn’t matter to him how much of the Oòduà land is appropriated by the Fulani aggressors and neo-colonialists.

To Bola Ahmed Tinubu, anything, everyone and everything is expendable. It does not matter how much gnashing of teeth is going on the streets of the Yorùbá Nation. It does not matter to him how much tears is being shed by the Yorùbá sons and daughters. It does not matter to him, how much suffering, agony and misery is inflicted on every corner and cranny of Yorùbá Nation, on Oòduà land by his Fulani masters, as long as he is protected and his ambition is on course, he is perfectly alright.

The question now remains, how many sons and daughters of Oòduà have to lose their lives for Tinubu’s ambition to be realised? How much more blood have to flow for his Fulani masters to be happy to be able to guarantee him the Presidency, if ever they would? How many more have to die needless deaths? How much more land do we have to give up? How many more have to be kidnapped and killed? How much more of have to be maimed and deprived? Obviously, “Tí ikú ilé ò bá pa ni, t’òde ò lè pa ni.”

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has to understand that it was never enough to get himself the title of “Asíwájú.” (thank God, it was the “Asíwájú of Eko Island” and not the “Asíwájú of the Yorùbá Nation” as many of his paid sentries have always wanted to portray him). Was the purpose of his title to lead whoever follows him to the Golgotha to be slaughtered? Was that the purpose and or the objective?

The creation, launching and the continued subsistence of Àmòtékùn Project is an act of Providence. It is an act of Providence incubated by Nature to identify the true enemies of the Yorùbá Nation. The role of Nature here is the affirmation of its very first Law – self-preservation. In this trajectory, the ever conscious TIME has vindicated the characterization of Tinubu’s politics as mercantilist and not beneficial to and or in the interest of the Yorùbá Nation.

Thus if you did not hear anything from Bola Ahmed Tinubu on this matter of Àmòtékùn, you now know why. But never the less, we must still ask this question:- ÀMÒTÉKÙN: Where is Bola Ahmed Tinubu?

“In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility – I welcome it.
-John F. Kennedy, January 20, 1960

Tinubu praised uzodinma on his victory

…says really round him

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Sen. Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday urged the people of Imo to unite and work toward a brighter future under their new Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

Tinubu made the appeal in a statement congratulating Uzodinma on his victory, the people of Imo and all Nigerians who believed in justice and sought the truth.

“The time has come for the people of Imo to unite and work toward a brighter future under Uzodinma.

“For the new governor, the real work begins now. He must dedicate himself to establishing a government that transforms the fortunes of the people,” he said.

The APC leader noted that the Supreme Court’s proper and fair decision in declaring Uzodinma as the rightful governor of Imo was indeed a victory for truth and justice in Nigeria.

“Foes of justice and democracy had engineered a plot by which the improper and wilful exclusion of over 200,000 valid votes cast for Uzodinma would deny him the office the people of Imo had chosen him to fill.

“The wrongful exclusion of such a vast number of valid votes threatened to turn the Imo governorship election into an unfortunate rejection of the sovereign will of the electorate.

“It is imperative that this injustice be corrected and in line with its responsibility, the Supreme Court carefully reviewed the case.

“Recognising the obvious impropriety and unfairness of the exclusion, the apex court objectively and impartially ruled in favour of the people and in support of democracy.

“The Supreme Court prudently and judiciously rose to the occasion as the defender of our constitution by rendering the only judgment that could protect the democratic rights and collective will of the people of Imo,” he said.

Tinubu said the decision underscored the role of the courts in safeguarding democracy and bolstered public faith in the integrity of the judiciary to fulfil its vital mission.

He said it proved that the court had both impartiality and integrity to pursue justice and follow the evidence wherever it might lead.

He commended Uzodinma for his determination in pursuing the case to the end.

“I applaud his faith that the judicial system will ultimately restore justice.

“Where others might have given up, he continued relentlessly in his pursuit of justice.

“His perseverance has now been rewarded with the restoration of his mandate.

“In effect, Imo’s new governor lived up to his very name, Hope. Indeed, Hope never gave up hope,” Tinubu said.

According to the APC leader, the Supreme Court has now spoken and its decision is final.

He said there was nothing to be gained from speculation or second-guessing.

Tinubu urged Uzodinma to reach out to those who opposed him.

He said he must let them know that he bore no grudges and sought only good for all people of the state.

He urged former Gov. Emeka Ihedioha and his supporters to take solace in the fact that Uzodinma conducted a spirited and vibrant campaign.

“I hope that he and his supporters will now respect the ruling of the court.

“There remains a place for them in working for the betterment of the state.

“For prosperity, democracy and social harmony to reign, both the new and outgoing governor and their supporters must recognise that the electoral contest is over.

Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.

“Now is the time to come together for the welfare of the people.

“It is our hope that Imo emerges from this process to shine as a beacon and an exemplar of progressive good governance under the banner of the APC,” Tinubu said.

Meeting with Atiku, Tinubu unreal – APGA, Maku

National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Labaran Maku, has debunked news reports that he met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate in the Feb. 23, 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, among others, with aim of floating a new political platform ahead of 2023.

Maku, a 2019 APGA governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, urged his supporters and other Nigerians to disregard the reports in its entirety.

“Please disregard such report. It’s the fakest news of the year promoted by some frightened detractors in Nasarawa State who are scared of the widespread popularity of APGA.

“I haven’t met Asiwaju Tinubu for years and I am in APGA by choice having considered all the other options.

“Just last week, there was a report on Eyewitness newspaper in Nasarawa state titled ‘2023: Maku, Umbugadu talks on Consensus Reaches Advanced stage’.

“Such report is fake news targeting at scattering my supporters and my well wishers.

“Yesterday, another report titled ‘Tinubu, Maku, others in talks to float new party ahead 2023’.

“That I held meeting with Tinubu, others in my country home Wakama, such report is a fake news,” he said.

Maku called on all supporters of APGA to remain firm in their support for the party to enable it come victorious in future elections.

The former minister also urged his supporters and other well wishers not to be provoked by the fake news but to continue to be law abiding and respect constituted authorities for development to thrive.

A report in Nasarawa Mirror and other social media platforms had said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Jan.10 held a closed door meeting with Maku at his Wakama country home in Nasarawa state, adding that the immediate past president of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki; Governors Nyesom Wike; Aminu Tambuwal; and Bala Mohammed also attended the meeting to float a new political party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

{Photos} Takeaway lesson from Al-Nur Mosque ‘You die for nothing’

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission scored a major political goal on Saturday when he brought Nigeria’s political and business elites together at the Al-Nur Mosque in Abuja.

They came to attend the wedding of Nuhu’s two sons, Mahmud and Abubakar Sadiq, to their beloved partners, Aminatu Ismaila and Fatima Jijiwa. President Buhari was the only major political actor that was absent, but he was ably represented by a delegation led by Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Luckily, the wedding was held without incident.

Tinubu and Atiku discuss at the wedding. Months ago, Tinubu’s party and Atiku’s were fighting over Aso Rock

However, images out of the occasion offered some sobering lessons to Nigeria’s political followers, who break bottles and kill themselves, all in the name of politics. At the top, the elite ‘Dey Kampe’, to use a pidgin phrase made popular by former president Olusegun Obasanjo. The political elite surely know how to sort themselves out despite superficial differences and acrimony on the political turf.

Just watch Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar sharing one big mirthful laughter. Watch Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar discuss as old friends or Digital Economy Minister, Isa Pantami sit calmly beside Abubakar Atiku.

The truth is ‘there is no fight upstairs’. It’s political ‘make believe’. We cannot but agree with the comment of Oluwaseyi Adeniyi, who posted photos of the wedding showing the dignitaries exchanging camaraderie: Today at the Wedding Fatiha of Mahmud Nuhu Ribadu & Amina Aliyu Ismaila, Son of Mallam @NuhuRibadu at The Al-Nur Mosque Abuja. And you think our political elites are fighting? If you allow yourself to be killed all in the name of defending them. You die for nothing”.

This is the takeaway lesson from Al Nur Mosque in Abuja.

That moment tinubu visited Presidency

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu hit the front page of major newspapers and trended in the social media during the week following his visit on Tuesday, January 7 to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

There is no gainsaying the fact that Tinubu has risen to become one of the nation’s biggest political players and a renowned godfather of the politics of the Southwest region.

Given his powerful political network, which could be said to be as natural as nature his views on critical national issues are usually taken seriously, as political players, as well as observers, may ignore it at their peril.

Of course, it was the addition of the Tinubu political machine that gave Buhari a big boost to win his presidential aspiration in 2015, after four failed attempts; so his words and actions carry political weight as a realist and practical strategist.

There is the saying that every epoch in every nation throws up its own heroes and villains. Men and women who in the midst of adversity and uncertainty saw clearly within the mist a vision of a glorious future and with unusual courage and uncommon determination pursued its actualization.

These are men and women who have impacted positively (or negatively too) on the lives of the people within their jurisdiction and who have become change agents that altered the course of the society at a particular point in time; creating and moulding a nation that has essentially their footprints embedded in all of its strata.

One of such human personages in Nigeria today is the Jagaban Borgu, a man who has humbly and practically turned not just the politics of Southwest Nigeria into a robust and vibrant enterprise, but also the politics of Nigeria as a nation.

The Lion of Bourdillon had used the occasion of his visit to address some knotty political issues, particularly the rumoured controversial third term ambition of President Buhari and the 2023 zoning arrangement.

Despite Buhari’s pledge and constant denial not to amend the constitution or seek a third term in office which most Nigerians still believe is a hypocritical stance, it took a strong voice like that of Tinubu to arguably put to rest such claims, making some to now believe that Buhari should be trusted.

On Buhari’s plan to quit in 2023, Tinubu told state House correspondents that “any reasonable politician who had worked with President Muhammadu Buhari will know that he will not (tamper with the Constitution). Distractors are always suspicious and will make accusations, but I was in the trench, in the struggle for democracy.

“I was in the trench and in the opposition with Muhammadu Buhari, till the third term agenda of a former leader of this country failed. I know he will never; he has the courage and the character to refuse such temptation even if offered to him. I believe in him and I believe Nigerians should also believe in him.”

Also speaking on APC and zoning agenda in 2023, Tinubu revealed that: “That time is not now. We have just finished one election and Mr President is busy sorting out the budget, working for the people of this country. Any lover of this country will not talk about the succession plan yet”.

There is ample evidence that the Southwest politics, largely, revolves around the political machine of Tinubu without whose blessing or endorsement any politician’s effort from the zone may be a struggle in futility. Of course, there are a negligible few exceptional, but he stands like a colossus in the determination of who gets what, when and how in Southwest politics.

When he moved against the former Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, even the intervention of President Buhari could not save him.

There is no politician that he moved against with all his political might that ever survived the tsunami.

Expectedly, the intimidating political profile of Tinubu has also continued to generate attacks from his Southwest compatriots as he has been accused of having undue dominance in their politics.

For instance, a group, Yoruba Self Determination Advancement Forum during the 2019 governorship election in Lagos State vowed to liaise with other ethnic nationalities in the state to rescue the state from what it described as Asiwaju Tinubu hegemony ahead of the 2019 elections.

The forum’s convener, Kunle Adesokan, said that the forum, a coalition of over 60 self-determination groups, would liaise with other ethnic groups and all categories of people in the state to convince voters to vote for Jimi Agbaje (candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party) and put an end to the dominance of Tinubu in Lagos politics.

Tried as they did the Jagaban still had his way using all the human and material investments he has built over the years.

Many political observers have also accused the former Lagos governor of being selfish, insisting that he spoke on the third term bid of the president because he wants the coast to be clear for him since he is deeply nurturing the ambition to run for the presidency in 2023 when power is expected to return to the South if APC would keep to the zoning principle.

Although power is transient, there is nothing to yet to show that the table may turn any soon against the Tinubu factor.

Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu was born on March 29, 1952 in Lagos.

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu

He attended St. John’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children’s Home School in Ibadan, Oyo State. He then went to the United States in 1975, where he studied first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

His political career began in 1992; he became Lagos State governor 1999 and since then his political star has never dimmed.

3rd term agenda: Buhari opposed one of his predecessors – Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Bola Tinubu, has dismissed the claims that President Muhammadu Buhari would be seeking a third term in office.

He recalled that the President had vehemently opposed the third term agenda of one of his predecessors some years ago.

Tinubu, who visited President Buhari on Tuesday, stated this while addressing State House correspondents in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

“I was in the struggle for democracy,” said the former Lagos State governor.

He added, “I was in opposition to a third term agenda of a former leader of this country, with Muhammadu Buhari, Mr President; I know he will never.”

The APC chieftain, however, urged Nigerians to believe in the President whom he said would never have any thought of seeking re-election as President in the 2023 general elections.

He stressed that President Buhari would not be interested in extending his tenure in office after 2023, even if it was offered to him.

Tinubu said, “He (Buhari) has the courage and the character to refuse such a temptation, even if offered to him. I believe in him and I believe Nigerians should believe in him.”

Tinubu’s reaction is the latest among many others over allegations that the President was nursing a third term agenda.

Addressing a meeting of the APC National Executive Council (NEC) in November 2019, President Buhari dismissed the claims.

He told party leaders at the gathering in Abuja that he could afford to be reckless because he had no plans to remain in power after the 2023 general elections.

In its reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party said “the issue of third term is a dead-end” and asked the President to end all attempts to bring the issue of running for another term in 2023 to public discourse.

It, however, advised the President to address the issue of violence during elections in the country.

Tinubu meet with Buhari in Aso Rock

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Tuesday January 7, met President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house in Abuja.

Speaking to newsmen after their closed door meeting, Asiwaju Tinubu told newsmen that he visited the President to wish him well in 2020.

The APC Chieftain who commended President Buhari for debunking reports of an alleged third term agenda, alleged that unpatriotic Nigerians are trying to use future elections and politics to distract him from facing governance.

This is not the time to start planning to zone – Tinubu

National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said that it’s too early to talk about which section of the country will get the presidential slot for 2023.

“It will be mere restlessness to talk about it now”, he said.

Tinubu also said that any talks about succession plans, for now, should be discarded.

He spoke with State House Correspondents on Tuesday after he visited the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.), for a brief meeting.

Tinubu explained that the APC’s government just got a second term, adding that the attention should be focused on good governance.

Asiwaju, Bola Ahmed Tinubu

“This is not the time”, he added.

The former governor of Lagos State is one of the names regularly mentioned as a possible APC presidential candidate in 2023 when power is expected to be zoned to the South.

I would have gladly support the hate speech bill if the first victims are Buhari, Keyamo, Amaechi, Tinubu And El-Rufai.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, says he will throw his weight behind the controversial hate speech bill if the first victims to be sanctioned are President Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Nasir El-Rufai, Festus Keyamo and Rotimi Amaechi for the ”hateful words they have spoken over the years.”

EFCC should check tinubu’s bullion van as other Nigerians, No one is above the law – SAN, Mike Ozekhome…

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome has slammed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over its alleged cold feet in investigating a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, following a petition written against him after bullion vans were spotted at his Bourdillion residence on the eve of the 2019 presidential election.

While the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC, Prof. Itse Sagay said the petition against Tinubu was written in bad faith, Ozekhome insisted that Nigerians have the right to demand for the investigation.

He further stated that the anti-graft agency should act in accordance to its motto which is ‘No one is above the law’.

Ozekhome said: “When a petition is written against their chieftain, it is written in bad faith; but when it is written against small-time ‘yahoo boys’, then it is written in good faith.

“What is the job of EFCC under Section 6 and 7 of the EFCC Act? It is to investigate any person no matter how highly placed in accordance with its motto ‘No one is above the law’.

“No one is saying Tinubu has done anything wrong yet, but don’t Nigerians have a right to demand that he be investigated?

“Why should the investigation be written off whether it was done in bad faith or good faith? Why can’t the bad faith be shown in the aftermath of the investigation? There should be no sacred cows.”

EFCC stops working on tinubu’s bullion van because there are no merits to it – Itse Sagay..

Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof Itse Sagay has defended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over its alleged cold feet in probing All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Bola Tinubu over the bullion vans spotted at his home on the eve of the 2019 presidential election even after receiving a petition.

Sagay stated that Tinubu should be given a benefit of doubt as he got rich from his own hardwork and investment. He also alleged that the petition was written in bad faith and hatred which is why the EFCC is not investigating.

He said: “If there is no credence in the petitions, what is there to investigate? You know Nigerians are very adept at writing petitions. They like frivolous petitions just as they like litigations. If you know how many petitions are thrown out at the NJC, you will be amazed.

“The Nigerian mind tends to be very vicious in terms of these things. They don’t like Tinubu so they must write a petition against him; a stupid baseless petition.

“My view is that there is no basis for those petitions. There is no merit in those petitions and that is why the EFCC is not acting on them.

“They said they sighted bullion vans in front of his house. Is that an offence? It makes no sense to me. If a bullion van comes to my house now to deliver anything, does that make me a criminal? Even if it is money, and it is my money, what is wrong in that?

“So, I don’t see anything in those petitions. They are just written in bad faith and hatred and they can’t expect the EFCC to join them in this baseless hatred of other people and pursue a vicious campaign of calumny.

“Tinubu was already very rich before he became governor. He is not a man who became rich after he joined the government.

“He worked in the petroleum sector. I recalled that during the course of his fight with Abacha, he had to escape for his life in order to join so many other people like Anthony Enahoro, Wole Soyinka, and many other pro-democracy activists.

“Tinubu was the one funding quite a lot of the organisations and those staying abroad. So, he has always been a man of means.

“It will be ridiculous that having come back to the country, won’t he invest his money in various ventures? So, no one should be surprised that he is a rich man.”

Goodluck Jonathan Speaks On Dumping PDP … (Check..)

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has denied reports that he is about to dump the opposition Peoples Democractic Party (PDP).

YaahooJournalist reports that Jonathan made the clarification in a statement signed by Reno Omokri, his spokesperson, where he maintained that he has been a member of one political party all his life and he has no intention of leaving the PDP.

The statement reads as thus; “Former President Goodluck Jonathan is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. Throughout his sojourn on Earth, he has been a member of only one political party,” the statement read.

“Dr. Jonathan is known for his stability and loyalty. These are character traits that have been lifelong companions of his. He is also an elder statesman and that role requires that he accepts all Nigerian citizens, and indeed all the world’s peoples, in the spirit of the brotherhood of man.

“As an elder statesman and chairman of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, Dr. Jonathan will receive people of goodwill who apply to pay him a courtesy visit, irrespective of their political or religious leanings. Though a Christian, he has received Muslim groups and diverse other visitors.

“Dr. Jonathan intends to devote the rest of his life on Earth to building unity, and engendering opportunity for Nigerians and Africans and he has no desire, or reason to engage in partisan politics beyond being a loyal member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

“His being a member of the Peoples Democratic Party is institutional. In fact, it is more accurate to state that his eternal party is Nigeria, for which he reminds all Nigerians that they are brothers and sisters born from the womb of one Nigeria,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the statement is coming amid speculations that Jonathan had dumped the PDP following the major upset of his party by David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship poll in the oil-rich state of Bayelsa, where Jonathan hails.

APC must not die after my leave – Buhari…

President Buhari has charged the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work hard to ensure that the party survives beyond the end of his tenure in 2023.

The President, who spoke at the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party in Abuja, said that history would be unkind to the party leaders if the party collapses at the end of his administration.

He also said the party leaders have a responsibility to make the party attractive to their constituents, saying that “anybody who fails to maintain the respect of his constituents and is thrown out, it is his problem.

“Like the chairman has said, all those who left us to the upper house, none of them were voted by his constituents. You want to take our people for granted, but they know what they are doing, The aim is that, as I mentioned yesterday, history will not be fair to us outright if the APC collapses at the end of this term.

“History will be fair to us if the APC remains strong and not only holds the centre but makes gains. People will reflect with nostalgia that once upon a time, the builders of APC made a lot of sacrifices, worked very hard.

“The sacrifices are physical, material and moral to make sure that we maintain the leadership, politically, of this system. This is what we should all aim at and ensure that our constituencies understand us and follow us to this great objective.

“What we did for you the executive, NWC is bottom to top. You must make sure that people elected to be responsible from polling units to wards to local governments to states and here are respected in their respective constituencies.

“This is the only way we can make this party survive. This is the only way history will be kind to us that we have led with absolute concern for the country and for the people. If for any other reason you divide the party at any constituency and it causes failure, then be prepared that history will not recognize you as a leader at any level at any time.”

Speaking further, the President noted that the relationship between the executive arm of government and the legislature under the current dispensation has been commendable, noting that the National Assembly had been cooperative, which he said had allowed the administration to make remarkable progress.

He said: “Yesterday, I had to mention our relationship. And when I say ‘our’, I mean the executive and the legislature. And I was constrained to tell you there was a time I called the Senate President and the Leader of the House and told them that to sit on a budget for seven months is not politics nor is it hurting the President, whoever he is. It is hurting the country and the people we swore by the books we believe in, to serve them whole-heartedly.

“For that reason, I was pleased to mention yesterday that the 9th Assembly, you can see and read in the papers, they have shown so much commitment; they sit down on important issues and we make a lot of progress. This relationship, we will try and maintain because there are a lot of things that will not go public.

“We cannot allow those things to go public. But I want to tell you that we are making a lot of progress and what people fail to do is to appreciate the progress that this administration has made; what we inherited when we came in 2015.”

EFCC Acting Chairman Not Willing To Answer Questions Regarding Tinubu’s Bullion Van.

Noble Reporters

The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu who had an interactive session with journalists at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Friday November 1, reportedly refused to answer a question on petition for an investigation over an alleged cash-laden bullion vans linked to former Governor of Lagos and All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Bola Tinubu.

Recall that on the eve of the presidential election in February, photos of two bullion vans allegedly driven into Tinubu’s Bourdillon residence in Lagos went viral on social media. The EFCC got a petition from activist Deji Adeyanju on October 5, calling for a probe of what the bullion vans were used for.

Tinubu’s ‘lying fallows’ still lying in our office – EFCC announce.

The source, who disclosed that the petition is “just hanging somewhere”, added that there is no effort or desire by the leadership of the commission to consider the petition for its merit or lack of it at the moment.

A petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate two bullion vans allegedly stashed with cash driving into the residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at Burdillion, Ikoyi, Lagos, on the eve of the February 2019 presidential election, is currently “lying fallow” at the office of the anti-graft agency, a reliable source in the commission has told SaharaReporters.

The source, who disclosed that the petition is “just hanging somewhere”, added that there is no effort or desire by the leadership of the commission to consider the petition for its merit or lack of it at the moment.

Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, had filed a formal petition demanding an investigation into the bullion vans in Tinubu’s house following claims by the commission that it could not act without a formal petition over the issue.

Adeyanju’s petition dated October 25, 2019, was addressed to the Acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Ibrahim Magu.

In the petition, he had reminded the commission of ‪Section 7 (1) (b) of the EFCC Establishment Act, 2004, which empowered it to investigate properties of any person whose lifestyle and extent of the properties are not justified by his source of income.

Adeyanju urged the anti-graft agency to accord the petition priority and begin an investigation into the appearance of those bullion vans in Tinubu’s house on the eve of the election.

But five days after the petition was received by the EFCC, SaharaReporters has now learnt that the commission has no interest in pursuing the investigation.

The source said, “There is a petition but it is just somewhere lying fallow. Maybe tomorrow it will be picked up but right now, there is nothing on it.”

Tinubu had moments after the bullion vans were seen entering his house told journalists that he can spend his wealth as he pleases, adding that he could dole out cash if he wanted to so long as it was not for vote inducement.

The All Progressives Congress had also dismissed the petition, demanding evidence to prove that the money was meant to induce voters.

The APC said, “Let them come up with the proof. The man is a private citizen and he has been out of government for the past 12 years.

“If he has decided to spend his money on his party, how is that a problem? Let them come up with a proof that somebody’s money is missing.”

The Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act (2003) law of Nigeria does not quite agree with the argument of the APC, however.

Section 1 (a) of the act clearly states that a private citizen can only have a maximum N5m at hand.

Following its failure to enforce this law against the high and mighty in the society, many Nigerians have accused the EFCC of selective prosecution.

In the statement entitled: “Presidential Election: Supreme Court Affirms Will of The People”, Tinubu also congratulated President Buhari and the APC on a well-deserved legal affirmation of a hard-won electoral victory.

“The rule of law conclusively affirmed the collective voice of the people by dismissing the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and their presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“The sun rose high in the Nigeria sky today to shine its light over the entire land. Atiku should now channel the energy and intellect deployed in the electoral and legal processes toward joining APC “to move this nation more rapidly and assuredly forward.”

“On February 23, the people tendered the foremost expression of their sovereign, democratic will by voting for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari. This decision and this day will be recorded as important milestones on Nigeria’s inseparable march toward perfecting democracy and the rule of law across our land,” he said.
The APC national leader commended the Supreme Court for its expeditious and highly competent treatment of this important matter.

“Democracy has been affirmed and strengthened. By its ruling, the Supreme Court also affirmed that the rule of law is paramount; that the law is to be applied objectively, without regard to fear, friend or foe. The law is the law. Nothing is to be added to it and nothing subtracted from it. No one should enjoy undue favor or suffer unjust prejudice from its application.

Tinubu Expose Why Atiku Should Join APC.

“In so doing, it undergirded its reputation as the highest court in the law and the ultimate guardian of the rule of law in our nation. They expect us to govern in a way that produces the shared prosperity and enlightened future they deserve. We must commit ourselves fully to this profound and august task.

“Most importantly, it is fitting to commend the people of Nigeria. You are a law-abiding and good people. You voted in peace and good faith and you awaited the judicial process in like manner. You expect nothing from government but what it ought to do for you. You are the backbone and best hope of our land. President Buhari and the APC shall work for your benefit and on your behalf in order to realize our common dream of a better nation,” Tinubu said

The group declared that Tinubu is the best person to lead the country, describing him as a political strategist and grassroots mobiliser.

At the meeting were the former Ondo state commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sola Amodeni, former lawmaker, Samuel Ade Pelemo, BAT vision State Coordinator, Akinlolu Ayodele and his deputy, Bukky Oluderu.

Speaking, the coordinator of the group, Ayodele maintained that BAT vision was not just a group but a network movement to show case the values and promote the essence of Tinubu’s leadership qualities.

Ayodele said the meeting was to garner all minds together under the umbrella of BAT network vision, focusing on how the APC national leader will attain victory as Nigeria’s president in 2023.

He observed that the platform would be used to test run the 2020 governorship poll in the state, urging the citizenry to key into the group’s philosophy.

Amodeni, who extolled the leadership virtues of the former governor, said: “I believe in Tinubu’s vision, through his leadership at the national level of governance, Nigeria will not be the same in handling the menace of unemployment, insecurity and economic stagnation.

The former commissioner emphasised that the present hardship in the country, especially on economy and security did not start with the APC.

“Eight years in the administration of Buhari cannot even solve the multi-dimensional problem in the country. He is just laying the foundation that the likes of Tinubu can build on solidly, if he is given the mandate to rule after 2023,” he said.

He supported the closure of land borders in Nigeria, stressing that most of the fake drugs, illegal arms and ammunitions with other contrabands were brought into the country through the land borders.
