Woman loses existence to Ritualists in Ibadan


Another woman, whose identity has not been revealed, has been killed in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The woman according to residents of the area was killed by some persons suspected to be ritualists around 5.am on Wednesday.

NobleReporters gathered that the Wednesday incident is coming after the killing of three women in the same local government area.

This is coming after 3 days after another 5-year old boy identified as Mujeeb was killed in the same local government area.

However, none of the perpetrators has been either arrested or prosecuted up till now.


The Wednesday incident according to sources occurred opposite the popular Ajibade House, Sasa Ojoo in Akinyele local government.

NobleReporters gathered that the woman was killed with cutlass by unknown persons while she was washing clothes.

A resident of the area who begged not to be mentioned noted that the community suspected ritualists to be behind the incessant killings in the local government area.

He called on the security agencies and the state government to halt the incessant killings in the local government area.


He said, “Another person just killed in Ajibade area of sasa community this morning. This is serious. If we don’t see any serious action from those who are concerned, we will be forced to embark on a serious mass protest. Enough is enough”.

Another resident who identified himself as Kolawole noted that the state government ought to have tacked the security challenges in the local government area.

He decried the incessant killings in the local government area.

All efforts to get the reaction of the Public Relations of the State Police Command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi proved to be abortive as of the time of filing this report.



Couple who allegedly killed their 7 year old son for ritual arrested in Ogun State. [Nigeria]


A herbalist identified as Lajuwon Ogunleye and his wife identified as Adetutu Apalaya have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command over charges of conspiring and killing their 7-year-old son identified as Pelumi Apalaya alongisde one Fatai Sefiu.

The suspects were arrested after their neighbours’ suspicion of the little boy being used for ritual as he reportedly slumped and died without being sick.


According to report, they were reportedly monitored by residents of the community after they took the boy to the bush for burial.

It was also learnt that some of the body parts of the boy who was buried in a ”standing position,” were harvested by the herbalist who is his step father, his mother and Sefiu who is his father’s friend.

Reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the Divisional Police Officer for Abigi Division, Tarkighir Joseph led detectives to the bush in Iwopin area of Ijebu waterside where the suspects were rounded up.


Oyeyemi said;

“The suspects led policemen to where the victim was buried and it was discovered that the deceased was buried in standing position.

” On interrogation, the second suspect, Fatai Sefiu, told the detectives that the boy was actually used for ritual by the stepfather in connivance with the deceased boy’s mother. He stated further that the couple have reached a conclusion before he was coopted into the business.


“The mother of the victim Adetutu Apalaya who first denied having knowledge of her husband plan to use her son for ritual was dumbfounded when asked whether or not she followed them to the bush where her son was buried and the mode of burial of the boy.”

The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered a transfer of the case to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution.

Six men suspected to be ritualists were arrested at Shogunle and Ladipo on Agege Motor Road near Oshodi in Lagos.

They were said to have been abducting passersby along the road and dragging them into the deep drainage along the road.

Eyewitnesses said they were caught while trying to drag a street sweeper into the drainage.


Nigeria – Ritualists invade imo community.

Umuike-Ndiowerre community in Ihitte Uboma council area of Imo State are presently at the mercy of God as suspected ritualists frequently besiege the agrarian community, killing so far three indigenes.

Commissioner for Special Projects, Comrade Simon Ebegbulem who is an indigene of the area narrated to newsmen the ugly trend in his community.

According to him, the modus operandi of the hoodlums is attacking their victims in their farmlands.

However, while appealing to the State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Fafowara to come to their rescue, he informed that six suspects had already been captured and handed over to the police.

The commissioner narrated that “three persons were killed in my community, specifically in Umuchaku Uhuala, another one at Umuodoma Alaocha. Two of the people killed were dumped in a hole where the bodies were found.

“The third person was killed at Mbaraocha Umuike, when she went to the farm. These killings were carried out a month ago. Again, these killers who came from outside the local government, stormed my community again on Thursday.

“Six of them came in a bus and when they arrived the same area, they attempted to abduct a man called Rufus in his farm. While they were struggling with him to push him into the waiting bus, the wife raised the alarm which attracted our community members.

“That was how these suspected ritualistic were apprehended. Four of them were apprehended at the scene while two escaped but were later arrested after our people combed the bushes. They were handed over to the police for further investigation because we believe that these same people may have been involved in the killings going on in our community.

“So we are appealing to the new CP in the state to investigate the six persons arrested thoroughly so we can get to the root of these killings in the community. We want to know their sponsors and why they have unleashed mayhem in our community. And of course those involved must be prosecuted,” he stated.
