Ramsey unwanted by Pirlo

Aaron Ramsey is not wanted by Andrea Pirlo, with the former Arsenal star nearing the exit door as the new Juventus boss clears the decks ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The 29-year-old has had an underwhelming debut season in Turin, with a series of injuries and a lack of minutes blighting the Welshman’s contributions to the all-conquering Italians.

Ramsey has scored three goals and provided one assist in his 24 Serie A outings for the Old Lady this season.

And according to The Mirror, Pirlo is looking to offload the Welshman, who is reportedly on £250,000-per-week, as part of a summer clear out ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The Juventus legend also wants to sell Gonzalo Higuain, Daniele Rugani, Sami Khedira and Mattia De Sciglio.

With the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Rodrigo Bentancur and Arthur Melo, who is set to arrive from Barcelona, ahead of him in the pecking order, Ramsey’s first team opportunities will be limited.

Juventus are in need of a rebuild having crashed out of the Champions League round of 16 last Friday when they lost on aggregate to French outfit Lyon.

The abysmal display from the Old Lady left Juve president Andrea Agnelli with no option but to dismiss the coach, Maurizio Sarri, despite the 61-year-old winning the Serie A title in his first season at the helm.

On Monday, midfielder Blaise Matuidi edged closer to joining MLS side Inter Miami. The 33-year-old underwent a medical with the American outfit and has reportedly signed a three-year deal.

The Frenchman knows David Beckham, the owner of the new franchise, from their time playing together at Paris Saint-Germain.

Ramsey for Ndombele, Juve plays new transfer tricks but Tottenham rejects

Tottenham have turned down an approach from Juventus for Tanguy Ndombele which would have seen Aaron Ramsey go in the opposite direction and return to the Premier League, according to Telegraph.

The Serie A champions recently expressed an interest in Spurs’ record signing but, according to Italian sources, were told he is in Jose Mourinho’s plans despite starting just three Premier League games in 2020.

Juve are willing to allow Ramsey to depart already after he moved to Turin from Arsenal only a year ago. He joined on a free transfer in a deal worth around £400,000 a week. Juventus were open to an exchange for Ndombele, having already signed Arthur Melo from Barcelona.

Ndombele arrived at Spurs in the summer from Lyon for a club-record £53.8 million but he was criticised by Mourinho for his performances just before football went into lockdown.

He came off the bench in the defeat against Sheffield United on Thursday for his first appearance in Project Restart.

Mourinho has insisted the player – signed under Mauricio Pochettino – can turn his Spurs career around, citing the slow start Luka Modric made before settling in the Premier League.

Ramsey reveals Ronaldo helps him settle in at Juventus

Aaron Ramsey has revealed how five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo helped him settle in at Juventus.

The Wales midfielder joined the Portuguese legend at the Serie A side following his free transfer from Arsenal last summer.

And Ramsey received a warm welcome from Ronaldo at his first training session with the Turin giants.

Ramsey, 29, told The Sun: ‘He’s a great person as well as an unbelievable player and one of the best in history.

‘For example, the first time I had a training session at the club, I went into the canteen and he said, ‘Come and sit by me’.

‘We just started talking immediately and he made me feel at ease straight away as did the rest of the team.

‘That’s a little insight into the sort of guy he is. I don’t need to tell you about his footballing ability or the records he has but I can tell you that he’s a great guy, he loves his team-mates and he gives everything in training.’
Ramsey has his sights set on lifting his first title with leaders JUve when the Serie A campaign resumes after the coronaviris lockdown.

But Ramsey, who started his career at Cardiff, has opened the door to returning to the Welsh capital after life in Turin.

Ramsey added on his own Instagram Live: ‘Cardiff will always hold a special place in my heart. Who knows what the future may hold? So yes, why not?

‘I grew up and started my career there and they helped me become a professional footballer so why not?’

Bale, Ramsey link with surprise move to Everton.

Alex Iwobi’s Everton are being linked with a surprise move for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale and Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Following their shock appointment of legendary Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, the Merseyside club are looking to take the next step towards finally achieving their long-term goals.

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri sees Ancelotti as the perfect manager to steer the club back to glory, but there is an acceptance that the playing squad needs improving if they are to compete for the title.

The belief is that Everton need six or seven top-class players to get where they want to be, and a source has confirmed to 90min that club officials have discussed trying to lure both Bale and Ramsey to Goodison Park.

The logic behind this ambitious plot is that both players are thought to be unsettled at their current clubs.

Madrid are ready to offload Bale this summer as they don’t want to pay his huge £350,000-a-week wages, and it is understood that Los Blancos would even let Bale leave on loan with no up-front cost if a club offered to pay the majority of the Welshman’s salary.

For Ramsey, he has grown frustrated with life at the Allianz Stadium, having started just nine Serie A games during his debut season in Turin.

He is not keen on spending another season on the bench and he is aware that Juventus have informed representatives they would be open to letting him go if the right offer arrived.

The midfielder earns a similar wage to Bale, so covering both would be a huge challenge for Everton, but the Toffees accept that they will have to spend big if they want to keep the club moving in the right direction.

Moshiri believes the core of the current squad is excellent and capable of mounting a real push towards the top of the table, but only if they can add some more star quality.

Landing both Bale and Ramsey would be an enormous challenge, but they are the kind of moves which Everton want to make to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City for the league title.
