Inter Milan could offer midfielder Ivan Perisic to Manchester United in a bid to keep on-loan forward Alexis Sanchez permanently, according to reports in Italy.

Sanchez joined the Serie A giants on a season-long loan deal in August and has scored four times and provided nine assists so far in the campaign.

United are believed to be reluctant to agree a deal that would allow Sanchez to play when Inter’s Europa League campaign resumes against Getafe on August 5, but Inter could attempt to resolve the issue by signing the striker for a fee of around £18million.

Boss Antonio Conte is considering suggesting Croatia star Perisic as a swap option for Sanchez, according to Football Italia.

Despite winning the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich this season, Perisic’s loan spell at the German champions, which cost them around £4.5million, is not expected to become a full move.

United were linked with Perisic when Jose Mourinho was in charge at Old Trafford and Sanchez’s Serie A suitors are hoping that successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will also be interested.

Sanchez is still the second-highest earner at Old Trafford as United are contributing £300,000 towards his pay each week, leaving them keen to remove him from their wage bill.

Perisic has scored four times and set up six goals in his 22 league appearances for Bayern this season, adding a goal and three assists in the Champions League despite only playing more than half an hour twice in Europe.

Inter and Bayern Munich will have to agree on the future of Ivan Perisic within the end of May and ideas of another loan deal in Bavaria have emerged.

The Bundesliga giants have an option to sign the player on a permanent deal for around €20m but, according to the Corriere dello Sport, the two clubs have to reach an agreement within the month.

Another loan deal could be in the making and the Croatian forward’s positive performances for Die Roten, contributing five goals and eight assists in 22 appearances, seemed to have secured him a permanent switch this summer.

But the coronavirus pandemic has changed the situation and Inter are not interested in taking back the the €4.6m a year salary and the 31-year-old’s contract expires in June 2022.

If Bayern are not willing to pay the €20m buy out clause, the newspaper claims Inter would be open to other solutions, like extending Perisic’s loan deal in Germany.

Inter & Bayern close to reaching agreement in the buy-out deal for Perisic

Inter and Bayern Munich are likely to reach an agreement in the deal for Croatian for forward Ivan Perisic, according to a report from today’s paper edition of NobleSports Reliable Source.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are set to earn around €15-20 million for the 31-year-old Croatian, who has impressed on loan with the Bavarian club this season. Inter are happy to sell the player in the summer as it will lower their wage bill by €4.6 million per season, in a contract that won’t expire until 2022.

Inter’s keenness to sell Perisic means that they are moving towards giving Bayern a discount on the previously agreed upon price, the report continues.

The 2018 World Cup finalist has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1200 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided eight assists, impressing with his tactical flexibility.

Álvaro Odriozola Breaks Teammate Ivan Perišić’s Ankle in Bayern Training

Bayern Munich’s Ivan Perišić is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a fractured ankle after teammate Álvaro Odriozola, on loan from Real Madrid, fouled the Croatian in training.

The Bavarians have claimed they expect their winger to be out for at least a month, meaning he is likely to miss Bayern’s visit to Stamford Bridge on 25 February, where they face Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Hans Dieter Flick, the club’s interim manager, confirmed reports of the injury and stated he anticipated Perišić will be sidelined for ‘at least four weeks’ after sustaining the injury during Tuesday morning’s training session.

Bayern’s stand-in manager added at his latest press conference, as reported by Goal, “We thought it wasn’t that bad, but he has a fracture in his outer ankle. It needs to be screwed back on.”

Perišić, currently on a season-long loan from Inter Milan, had started his side’s previous five matches. He has registered a total of five goals, and eight assists across 22 appearances in all competitions so far.

While it looks unlikely the 31-year-old will be fit for Bayern’s European knockout tie, he will also miss Wednesday’s DFB cup contest with Hoffenheim, the weekend’s top-of-the-table clash with Leipzig, as well as league clashes with Koln, Paderborn and Hoffenheim again.

The Croatian’s injury certainly comes as a crushing blow for a Bayern side that have recently rediscovered an impressive vein of form that has seen them regain their place at the top of the Bundesliga.

Flick does have the likes of Serge Gnabry, and Philipe Coutinho at his disposal, but certainly would have preferred a fully-fit squad to choose from ahead of the Chelsea clash, especially given their struggles in the Champions League in recent seasons.

Last time out, Bayern exited after losing 3-1 on aggregate to eventual champions Liverpool in the last 16. They will be aiming to avoid a similar fate on this occasion, but will have to do so without Perišić’s vast experience in competing at Europe’s top level.
