Court dismisses appeal against Fanimokun’s Eko Club Presidency.

Advertisements

The court also declared Fanimokun as the recognised President of the Eko Club.

Lagos division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed the appeal filed by the board of trustees of Eko Club against the return of Chief Babatunde Fanimokun as president of the club.

Advertisements

The lower court had on March 9, 2020 held that Fanimokun, who was endorsed by the Annual General Meeting of the club on February 27, 2019 be returned as the president of the club against the decision of the incorporated trustees and the Guardian Council of the club to field Dr. Shamsideen Ade Dosumu.

Trial judge, Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in his judgment declared that Ade Dosumu was not qualified to contest for selection for the post of President of the Eko Club for the year 2019/2020 as required under article 18 of the constitution of the Club and thereby rendered his selection null, void and of no effect whatsoever.

The court therefore asked Ade Dosumu to stop parading himself as President of the Eko Club henceforth.

Dissatisfied with the decision of the lower court, Ade Dosumu, the incorporated trustees and the Guardian Council of the club, who were the respondents at the lower court lodged an appeal at the Lagos division of the court of appeal, challenging the decision.

In its lead judgment delivered by Justice Onyekachi Otisi on Wednesday, the court of appeal dismissed the appeal and upheld the decision of the lower court, which recognized the right of Fanimokun to run for a second term in office as president.

Justice Otisi held that the judgment, which affirmed the decision of the Annual General Meeting of the Eko Club, dated February 27, 2019, to return Chief Fanimokun as the President of Eko Club, for the 2019/2020 term remains legal and should be adhered to.

The court therefore unanimously nullified the supposed selection of Ade Dosumu as President of the Eko club.

Justice Otisi held that Chief Fanimokun has every right as regards to the provision of the amended constitution of the Eko Club, 2014 and of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria to contest for President for a second term, having served as President of Eko club from February 2017 to February 2019.

The court also declared Fanimokun as the recognised President of the Eko Club.

Klopp’s sober update on Virgil Van Dijk’s condition.

Advertisements

Liverpool have refused to state that the Dutchman’s injury was season-ending like that of Joel Matip

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Virgil van Dijk is unlikely to return before the end of the current season.

Van Dijk suffered a torn ACL back in October, and although a return to action this year always seemed unlikely, Liverpool have refused to state that the Dutchman’s injury was season-ending like that of Joel Matip.

Advertisements

There is still some hope as Klopp confirmed in his press conference that he plans to include Van Dijk in his 25-man Champions League squad, but he is not optimistic about the defender’s chances of playing.

“Whatever happens, I think we have space for Virgil on the Champions League list,” Klopp said. “I think he was on the Premier League list. Nobody told me I have to change something with that. If we have space in the Champions League list then Virgil will be on the list.

Advertisements

“In the moment, I don’t know where these things are coming from – nobody really, no doctor, nobody really told me there’s a chance for Virgil to play in this season again. I don’t want to say that’s absolutely impossible but it’s not likely. It’s not likely. We don’t have to discuss these things really.

“If we have space we would put them all on, even when all the medical people tell us there’s no chance. We put them on because we believe in miracles from time to time.

Virgil van Dijk is unlikely to return in 2020/21 | Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images

“But if there’s no place then we have to consider these kind of things and say, ‘The chance is not too big so we have to make the decision.’ But if they are on the list then it’s only because we hope for nearly a miracle. That’s it.”

Advertisements

Liverpool finally dipped into the transfer market to sign some replacement centre-backs, bringing in Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak from Preston and Schalke respectively, but Klopp warned fans not to expect to see the pair starting together anytime soon.

“The good thing is it’s football still,” Klopp said when asked if the pair’s lack of Premier League experience was behind his decision. “They played in Germany, they played in the Championship, so that’s not a problem.

“Coming into defence, we’ve had 12 or 13 different centre-half pairings, and that makes it more difficult for the likes of Neco [Williams] and Kostas [Tsimikas] as well. Kostas is new, Neco is still young, you search for stability in the team, and when you change that often [it is harder].

“We obviously don’t live in an ideal world, and that means we have to be smart, we have to be quick and we try everything to do that.

Advertisements

We have different things to help them and it goes faster, but we obviously play different to Preston, obviously different to Schalke, that’s clear.

“They will need time, but we don’t have a lot of time, so we will use the time we have in our hands and try our best. If they would have to start tomorrow night together, I think that would not be too cool. But we will give them a few more days.”

Car bomb in Turkish controlled region of Northern Syria kills 5

Advertisements

Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies grabbed the region of Afrin from Kurdish fighters in 2018.

A car bomb in the Turkish-controlled region of Afrin in northern Syria Saturday killed five people including a child, a British-based war monitor said.

The car, which contained explosives, blew up in a neighbourhood where workshops are located, killing the child, three other civilians and an unidentified person, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said the death toll could rise as 15 other people were wounded, some of them in critical condition.

Advertisements

Afrin and other areas in northern Syria under Turkish control are regularly rocked by such bombings.

There is usually no claim for them, although Turkey routinely blames Kurdish fighters it accuses of being “terrorists” linked to its outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

In early January, another explosives-rigged vehicle killed one civilian in the town of Jindires in the Afrin region. The same day, a car bomb near a vegetable market in the Turkish-held border town of Ras al-Ain killed five people including two children.

In November, a car bomb went off near a bakery in Afrin, killing three people and wounding 16 others.

Advertisements

Syria’s war has killed more than 387,000 people and displaced millions since starting in 2011 with the brutal repression of anti-government protests.

It has evolved into a complex conflict involving jihadists and foreign powers including Turkey, which has grabbed swathes of Syrian territory along its southern border during several military campaigns.

COVID-19: AstraZeneca vaccines ‘not effective’ for age 65 and over – Macron

Advertisements

The discussion about the right target age group for the vaccine has compounded controversy surrounding AstraZeneca’s vaccine.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine appeared not to be effective for people over 65 years of age.

Speaking to reporters only hours before the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended the vaccine for adults of all ages, Macron also questioned Britain’s decision to delay the second dose of Covid vaccines to inoculate more people.

Macron said there was “very little information” available for the vaccine developed by the British-Swedish company and Oxford University.

Advertisements

“Today we think that it is quasi-ineffective for people over 65,” he told the reporters, his office confirmed to AFP.

“What I can tell you officially today is that the early results we have are not encouraging for 60 to 65-year-old people concerning AstraZeneca,” he said.

Macron said he was awaiting the EMA’s verdict which came later Friday and also that of France’s own health authority “because they have the numbers”.

The French expert decision on the vaccine is expected at the start of next week, according to sources close to the health authority.

Advertisements

“I don’t have any data, and I don’t have a scientific team of my own to look at the numbers,” Macron acknowledged.

Addressing the UK’s vaccination strategy of stretching the time between first and second doses in order to give the protection afforded by the first dose to the maximum number of people, Macron said “the objective is not to have the largest possible number of first doses”.

Advertisements

In an attempt to speed up its vaccine rollout, UK health chiefs have delayed second doses for up to 12 weeks.

“When you have all the health agencies and the manufacturers who are telling you that for it to work you have to have two injections with a maximum of 28 days between the two, as is the case with Pfizer/BioNTech, and you have countries that have a vaccination strategy of only giving one injection, I am not sure that it’s totally serious,” said Macron.

“Scientists tell you that we accelerate mutations when you only give one injection because people are less well covered and therefore the virus adapts.

Advertisements

“We lie to people when we say ‘you are vaccinated’. You have a first dose of a vaccine that is made up of two,” he added.

Meanwhile, Germany’s vaccine commission on Friday maintained its advice against using AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccines on older people.

“The reason is because there is currently insufficient data on the effectiveness of the vaccines on people above 65 years old,” said the commission known as STIKO.

The advice by the panel of medical experts will be taken into account by the government as it officially draws up its decree on usage of the vaccine.

Advertisements

The European Commission Friday published a redacted version of its contract with the drugs giant, hoping to prove the company had breached a commitment on vaccine deliveries.

Brussels is furious with the pharmaceuticals company after it warned that it would only be able to deliver a fraction of the doses the EU had been expecting once the vaccine is approved for use in the bloc.

• THIS COULD TURN REGIONAL WAR – IRAN WARNS •

  • Iran warns conflict could flare up into regional war
  • Further casualties among Armenia-backed troops reported
  • Claims of mass displacement amid ongoing clashes

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned of the danger of the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict turning into a regional war.

“We must be attentive that the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan does not become a regional war. Peace is the basis of our work and we hope to restore stability to the region in a peaceful way,” Rouhani said in televised remarks.

• STOP FIGHTING! – PUTIN CALLS •

Russian President Vladimir Putin called for fighting to stop in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, saying the deadliest fighting in more than 25 years between ethnic Armenian and Azeri forces was a tragedy.

Speaking in a interview with state television, Putin said he was in constant contact with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the conflict.

• HALF OF KARABAKH POPULATION DISPLACED•

Half of Nagorno-Karabakh’s population have been displaced since fierce fighting erupted more than a week ago between Armenian troops and Azerbaijan, ethnic Armenian officials in the breakaway region said.

“According to our preliminary estimates, some 50 percent of Karabakh’s population and 90 percent of women and children – or some 70,000-75,000 people – have been displaced,” Karabakh’s rights ombudsman Artak Beglaryan told AFP news agency.

• DEATH TOLL JUMPS TO 280 •

The defence ministry of the Nagorno-Karabakh region said it had recorded another 40 casualties among its Armenia-backed troops, pushing the military death toll to 280 since fighting with Azeri forces erupted, the Interfax news agency reported.

QUICK RECAP –

Fighting in Nagorno Karabakh has continued for a second week as Armenia and Azerbaijan clash over the breakaway region.

Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his country could make concessions over the region if Azerbaijan would do the same.

So far, the two rivals are ignoring international appeals for a ceasefire and have accused one another of causing civilian and military casualties since clashing on September 27.

Violence periodically flares up in the breakaway region, which is inside Azerbaijan but controlled by ethnic Armenians, but the latest fighting has raised fears of an all-out war erupting.

Storyline: Kuwait swears in new emir after leader dies at 91.

Advertisements

Kuwait on Wednesday swore in its new emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and prepared to receive the body of his half-brother, the late ruler Sheikh Sabah who died in the US at the age of 91.

Sheikh Nawaf was visibly emotional as he addressed the National Assembly a day after the death of the emir, an acclaimed diplomat and mediator who ruled for 14 years.

CONTINUE READING;

“The precious confidence that the people of Kuwait have entrusted in us will be guarded with our lives,” the 83-year-old said after taking the oath of office.

He pledged to “serve the nation” in the address before lawmakers, who sat socially distanced and in masks, in line with coronavirus precautions.

Advertisements

The remains of Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah are expected to arrive in Kuwait City later Wednesday, on a flight from Minnesota where he had been undergoing treatment in hospital since July.

According to the royal court, the funeral will be “restricted to the emir’s relatives” — a move likely designed to avoid large crowds amid the coronavirus pandemic. The country has already begun a 40-day period of national mourning.

Sheikh Sabah earned a reputation as a shrewd, unshakeable leader who helped steer his country through the 1990 Iraqi invasion, crashes in global oil markets and upheavals in parliament and on the streets.

World leaders and Kuwaitis alike have hailed the legacy of the late emir, architect of the nation’s modern foreign policy and mediator in some of the worst crises to grip the Gulf.

“This man was the safety valve of the Arab world, not just for Kuwait,” Bandar al-Dahani, a Kuwaiti citizen, told AFP.

Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (C) reads a statement asfter being sworn in as Kuwait’s new Emir at the National Assembly in Kuwait City, as Parilament Speaker Marzouq al-Ghanem (L) looks on, on September 30, 2020. – Kuwait on Wednesday swore in its new emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, after the death of his half-brother, Sheikh Sabah, who died in the US at the age of 91. (Photo by Yasser Al-Zayyat / AFP)

“God willing, that goodness will be in Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf and he will follow the emir’s path.”

Generational transition looms
Sheikh Nawaf, who has held high office for decades, takes over with Kuwait facing the repercussions of the coronavirus crisis, which triggered a sharp decline in oil prices and severe economic consequences for Gulf states.

The elder statesman, who was named heir apparent in 2006, served as defence minister when Iraqi troops rolled into the oil-rich emirate in 1990, and also as interior minister in the face of challenges from Islamist militants.

Advertisements

The new leader is popular within the ruling Al-Sabah family and is reported to have been a consensus choice for ruler. He also enjoys a reputation for modesty and has largely maintained a low profile.

Major policy changes are not expected during his reign, even after the Gulf underwent a seismic shift with Kuwait’s neighbours, the UAE and Bahrain, opting to establish relations with Israel.

Normalisation with the Jewish state is highly unpopular among the Kuwaiti public, which largely supports the Arab world’s historic position of demanding a resolution of the Palestinian cause before giving diplomatic concessions to Israel.

Despite expectations for a smooth succession, there could be more spirited debate over who the new crown prince should be.

Advertisements

Kuwait’s constitution stipulates that the ruler should be a descendant of the nation’s founder, Mubarak al-Sabah, but the throne has alternated between the descendants of his sons, Salem and Jaber, for four decades.

In this file photo taken on December 15, 2009 Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah attends the final session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Kuwait City. – Kuwait named Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as its new emir, after the death of his half-brother Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on September 29, 2020 at the age of 91. (Photo by Yasser Al-Zayyat / AFP)

Contestants for the newly vacated role of crown prince include Sheikh Sabah’s son and former deputy prime minister Nasser Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, a Kuwaiti political heavyweight.

“Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed should be viewed more as a caretaker than as a watershed new leader,” said Cinzia Bianco, a research fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

“Behind the scenes, however, younger princes would likely continue to compete to succeed him.”

Court orders senator Abbo to pay N50M damages fee to ‘the woman’ he slapped.

Advertisements

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Senator Elisha Abbo “Slapping Senator” to pay N50 million damages fee to the woman he slapped in a s*x toy shop, few months ago.

Disclosing this on Monday, Lugard Tare-Otu and Nelson who identified themselves as Warmate’s lawyers, confirmed the situation.

CONTINUE READING;

Recall with Noble Reporters Media that Elisha Abbo who happens to be the youngest Senator in Nigeria, assaulted the owner of the shop he went to purchase some s*x toys by slapping and accusing her of poising her Air Conditioner.

This was because one of the ladies that accompanied him felt sick immediatly they entered the shop and she started throwing up.

The shop owner however replied the senator by saying that if the air conditioner was contaminated, others in the shop would have also taken ill.

Advertisements

This reply was said to have angered Abbo, and the two began exchanging words over the matter. The senator was said to have called a policeman who he then ordered to arrest the shop owner.

The shop owner quickly called her father to inform him that Abbo had called police over the matter and that she was about to be taken away.

The shop owner’s friend who had been standing nearby tried to intervene by pleading with the second man to take things easy but was slapped repeatedly by the lawmaker.

Senator Abbo however tendered an apology to the woman, days after the assault. He mentioned that regardless of the provocation, his action did not portray him a good ambassador of the Senate, the PDP and the youths of Nigeria.

Advertisements

In his words;

“It is with a deep sense of remorse and responsibility that I, Senator Ishaku Abbo profoundly apologize to all Nigerians, the Senate, the Peoples Democratic Party, my family as well as our mothers- the Nigerian women. “I personally apologize to Babra (the lady he reportedly assaulted) and her family for my action which has brought immense discomfort to our body polity.”

“l have never been known or associated with such actions in the past. Regardless of what transpired prior to my expression of anger, I am sincerely sorry and plead that all men and women of good conscience should have the heart to forgive me. To err is human, to forgive is divine.”

“To the Church of God everywhere in the world, I am sorry. As an Ambassador of Christ, much is expected of me. My family and religious upbringing do not give approval to such conduct and for this, as a leader, I seek forgiveness before God and all those who feel offended by my action. “

“Indeed, this episode has taught me a very great lesson both as a private citizen and a public officer particularly as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria upon whom public confidence is reposed.”

“I had the biggest song of my career, so far, in the craziest year of all our lives. “God” is the only explanation I will ever accept!

Advertisements

I played this song just now as I was breastfeeding my child, and she had dozed off for abt 20 seconds, but she suddenly perks up, raises her head, looks in my eyes and smiles at me. She stays that way for a bit and I was confused, so I go “what happened baby?” My mum says “it’s the song.” My heart skips. I mean she loves it when we sing to her or play her music, but her reaction was so specific tonight.

She knows her song. I’ve always felt that way because it’s what my mum plays to get her to calm down, and she must have heard it a thousand times while I was pregnant – but her reaction hit different today. I shared that to say this song wasn’t only good for my career or my fans or for other moms – most importantly, it makes my baby happy. I wrote it for her and she knows it. I don’t know if I can really explain how giddy that makes me.

Duduke has exceeded my expectations x 10000000 and I’ve genuinely never felt that way about any one of my songs before.
So I just wanna say “THANK YOU” to all the people that deserve the thanks, but especially to God and Adejare for inspiring me. And also to say we got 20 million views on Youtube. #GodisTheGreatest”

Investigations have however revealed that the YouTube story was fictitious and concocted, as Regina’s mother never attacked or raised concerns whatsoever about Chika Ike over Ned Nwoko and her daughter’s marriage. It turned out that the original video by Rita Daniels was heavily manipulated.

The original was actually an Instagram video of Rita Daniels singing a folk song before the camera. An ethnic Ibo eulogy with the lines Chukwu na dim ekwenem Yali yo. Obunam yali onye ka mkpor oku oza, translated to simple English, this means “God my father, do not let me forget you. If I forget, who will answer my call.”

The YouTube channel had also claimed that Chika is pregnant for Ned Nwoko and they were expecting their first child together. Speculation found to be baseless.

It will be recalled that Rita Daniels had in a swift reaction expressed disappointment with the video, describing it as criminal manipulation of the original where she only sang an innocuous song of praise to God.

“May God equip us with wisdom knowledge, understanding, and common sense of reasoning with the way we judge people. Let God be my judge and judge those wey dey judge me wrongly…. Happy Sunday fam. God bless you all,” She wrote on her Instagram page.

Regina’s mother had granted an interview with the BBC pidgin network, repudiating the reports.

Chika Ike also reportedly got questioned by a fan and took to her Instagram page to expose the stories as nonsensical, urging the public to disregard the mischievous rumours.

Meanwhile, Ned Nwoko is said to have vowed to use all legitimate means to bring the perpetrators of the fake video to justice as a deterrence.

“Laycon, since the commencement of the contest has been a good team player who relates to every member of the house freely as well as contributes meaningfully to every discussion and activity. “If you check viewers’ voting, Laycon has been receiving the highest votes since the TV show started.

“I have no doubt that Laycon will win that N85 million total package price of BBNaija TV show on Sunday’s grand finale,” he said. According to Urama, the only person that will pose a little challenge to Laycon is Dorothy who will come second during the grand finale.

“The only person I see that will pose a little challenge to Laycon is Dorothy because many people also like her performance and how she relates with other housemates,”he said. The enthusiast noted that the eviction of Ozo would affect the morale and performance of Nengi who derived much strength, love and courage from him.

“If Ozo is among the finalists, he will have posed a serious challenge to Laycon because, psychologically, Laycon respects Ozo and sees him as a big guy and public figure,” he said.

COVID-19: Another wave could lead Nigeria into total breakdown – PTF warns

Advertisements

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has said that Nigeria cannot afford a second wave of COVID-19.

It appealed to Nigerians to persuade their relations arriving the country to self-isolate upon arrival as required and test on the seventh day as prescribed.

Chairman of PTF/Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, who stated this yesterday in Abuja, noted that despite appreciable progress recorded, Nigerians should be more vigilant than ever.

The SGF observed that over the last one week, the scientific community had tried to explain new manifestation of COVID-19 spread.

His words: “We continue to observe a reversal of gains in the battle, mostly in countries around Europe, which prompted the World Health Organisation (WHO) to express concern, as weekly cases have exceeded those reported in March 2020 when the pandemic peaked in Europe.”

Mustapha cited Israel, which has re-introduced a three-week lockdown, and the United Kingdom considering another lockdown, Spain enforcing a partial lockdown in Madrid, and France amid protests by its citizens.

TO better understand the burden of COVID-19 infection in the country, the Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, has announced that NCDC, Nigeria Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) and their partners were conducting household survey in four states.

He noted that the seroprevalence surveys in Gombe, Enugu, Nasarawa and Lagos states would provide the best evidence yet on the extent of COVID-19 infection in Nigeria.

The survey runs from September to November, while preliminary results are expected by December 2020.
MEANWHILE, the Federal Government has asked the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) to permanently call off its strike.

The call, according to government, will help sustain efforts to strengthen the nation’s health systems in the fight against COVID-19.

Mustapha, who spoke at the weekly briefing in Abuja yesterday, called on all sub-national governments to support the nation’s health professionals in carrying out their duties.

According to the SGF, the call for greater vigilance is underscored by the fact that the nation’s economy has been seriously affected by the pandemic “and we are pushing through our home-grown economic recovery strategies to cushion the economic impact of the pandemic.”

Novichok found ‘in or on’ my body – Navalny spills

Advertisements

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny said Monday that Western laboratories had found traces of a Novichok nerve agent in and on his body and demanded that Moscow return his clothes.

Navalny, who is recovering in Berlin’s Charite clinic, fell violently ill during a flight from Siberia to Moscow on August 20. He spent two days in hospital in Russia before being airlifted to Germany.

“Two independent laboratories in France and Sweden and the Bundeswehr specialised laboratory confirmed the presence of Novichok in and on my body,” he said in his first blog post since emerging from a coma, referring to a German military lab.

He noted that Russia had still not opened an investigation and that Russian talk shows had suggested that Western intelligence officials or his own allies carried out the attack.

“I did not expect anything else,” he wrote.

He also demanded that Russian authorities return his clothes that were removed before he was flown to Germany — “totally naked” — saying they were important evidence.

“Taking into account that Novichok was found on my body, and poisoning through physical contact is highly likely, my clothes are a very important piece of evidence,” he wrote.

“I demand my clothes be carefully packed in a plastic bag and returned to me.”

In a separate post on Instagram, he published a picture with his wife of 20 years, Yulia, saying he remembered little of his illness but that she had helped his recovery.

“Now I definitely know from experience: love heals and brings you back to life,” he said.

“Yulia, you have saved me, and let it go down in neurobiology textbooks.”

Navalny supporters and European leaders have said that the poisoning using Novichok, a military-grade nerve agent, points to a state-sanctioned attack.

The Kremlin has dismissed the claims as “absurd”.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday, visited the scene of the helicopter crash 24 hours after the incident.

The governor, who met with the residence of both buildings where the crash occurred, rejoiced with them for not recording any casualty.

Mr Sanwo-Olu stated that he was out of town when the incident occurred, and made it a point of duty to come and visit the residents before another day passes.

A Bell 206 helicopter, belonging to Quorum Aviation, was traveling in from Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital with two crew members and a passenger before it crashed into a residential building in the Opebi area of Lagos at mid-day on Friday.

Shortly after the crash, the Lagos State Emergency Agency confirmed that two persons died in the accident, with the third person taken to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital for treatment, but it was confirmed by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) later on Friday that the third person died in the hospital.

The AIB said it has commenced an investigation into what led to the crash, with a view to carrying out a fast and robust one with the help of the general public who have clips or saw the helicopter before it crashed.
