After defeat from City, Ashley young plan on leaving United.

Manchester United captain, Ashley Young has reportedly rejected the club’s offer to extend his contract at Old Trafford in a bid to move to Inter Milan.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Young has personally informed Man United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he does not want to renew his deal with the Red Devils as he seeks to join Inter Milan.

The Italian newspaper reports that Young has been in advanced talks with Antonio Conte’s side to complete a move to the Serie A giants.

The 34-year-old’s current contract at Man United will expire at the end of the season.

The England star joined United from Aston Villa in 2011.

The winger was left out of Man United’s squad that were defeated 3-1 against rivals, Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday night.

Asked whether Young’s move could happen in the summer, Solskjaer told a post-match after Man United’s defeat to Man City: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, you’ve got to ask Ash.

“For me it’s about focusing on the next game and tonight.”

Pep Guardiola speaks after Manchester city throws 3-1 defeat at Manchester United

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has reacted to his side’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

He also hailed Man United forward, Mason Greenwood for his brilliant display against Man City. NobleSport learnt

Three goals from Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and Andreas Pereira (OG) ensured Man City defeated the Red Devils as Marcus Rashford’s second-half strike was not enough to salvage a point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

“In the first minutes, it was tight, they had one or two counter-attacks and the second shot. It was an outstanding goal from Bernardo and since then we played really good with a lot of passes arriving from behind,” Guardiola said as quoted by Sky Sports after the game.

“In the second half, they changed the shape from a diamond to a 4-4-2 and we struggled a little bit, but it’s a good result.

“No [I wasn’t frustrated in the second half] because they played good and we could not control quite well, especially Mason Greenwood between the lines, we struggled a little bit with that, but, in general, it was an incredible performance. We are playing at Old Trafford against our rival in a semi-final and it was a fantastic result for us.

“It’s not over though, it’s Man Utd and we see how they can come back… but hopefully with our fans, we can make a good game and reach the final again.”

Man City will now play Man United on January 29 in the return leg at the Etihad Stadium.

After surgery, Pogba speaks from hospital

Injured Manchester United player, Paul Pogba, has taken to social media to let fans know about his state of health after recently undergoing an ankle surgery.

Pogba who has only made eight appearances for Manchester United this season because of the ankle injury, took to Instagram to joke about his state of health.

Speaking on his Instagram stories on Tuesday afternoon, Pogba said: ‘I don’t even know if I’m high or sober, well I don’t look sober.

‘You see my ankle like that, I can’t even feel my toes, but I’m still alive, that’s good news. I’ll keep you updated.’

Pogba added: ‘I’ve still got the smile’.

Looking at two pieces of bread, he said: ‘It’s one thing I don’t understand, what do you want me to do with this?

‘I can drink my pee pee, it looks like apple juice, fresh one.

‘I think people told me that I look drunk. I didn’t drink alcohol, they give me some things on my arm, I don’t know what’s that.

‘I woke up, I couldn’t lift up my leg and I was like ‘where am I, in Manchester? In Paris? In Guinea?’

James Maddison’s transfer option by Manchester United becomes the silliest

Manchester United are willing to offer Leicester City £45m and Jesse Lingard in exchange for midfielder James Maddison, according to the reports in Sunday’s papers.

Maddison has been in electric form for the Foxes this season, firing nine goals and three assists in all competitions to keep Leicester on track for Champions League qualification.

United are thought to be keen on striking a deal for Maddison at some point in the near future, and the Mirror even claim that he is the club’s ‘top target’ for the January window.

However, they are said to have only offered £45m plus Lingard. Honestly, that’s what it says. Does that really sound like ‘top target’ money?

Lingard is somehow valued at £40m by United, meaning this whole deal would actually be worth £85m on paper, but it seems incredibly unlikely that Leicester would value Lingard at that same price.

The 27-year-old did not manage to register a single goal or an assist in the Premier League in 2019, which is definitely not the record Leicester would want from a player who could be replacing one of England’s finest attacking midfielders.

United do not feel as though Leicester will sell in January, so a summer transfer is suggested as the more likely option, but even that seems incredibly unrealistic if United are only prepared to part with £45m and Lingard.

Leicester have proven to be willing to sell their stars for the right price – just look at Harry Maguire’s move to United last summer – but this rumoured deal for Maddison does not come anywhere close to that.

If United offered the £85m in cash, they might have a chance, but trying to offload Lingard will almost certainly not get the job done.

The Foxes currently find themselves second in the Premier League, 14 points and three places above United in the table, so it is not even unreasonable to suggest that Maddison might want to stay with Leicester for the foreseeable future.

Manchester United includes Norwich city’s Todd cantwell to their list.

Yep, that’s right. Just as we thought we were running out of young, British talents to be linked with Manchester United, it seems it is Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell’s turn to join the merry-go-round.

The 21-year-old has been one of this season’s surprise packages, as after falling out of favour towards the end of the Canaries’ Championship-winning season, he has gone on to score six goals and assist a further two in 21 Premier League appearances.

It’s been an impressive return for the versatile attacking midfielder, particularly in a struggling Norwich team that sit bottom of the league and seven points from safety.

“No one can tell me nothing. Written off, not strong enough, not quick enough, not worthy of the number 14 shirt! Well listen up I’m on my way to the top and no-one is going to stop me! So listen to anyone striving forward and being told all this sh*t tell them “ I got this” 🦁”

But if they are destined for relegation, then it seems the hyenas are not waiting around to pick at the scraps.

The Mail, while reaffirming those tired links with James Maddison, Jack Grealish and, you guessed it, Sean Longstaff, now credit United with a vested interest in Cantwell, and say they could make a move for him this month.

They say this interest is tied to injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, which have United rethinking their January transfer policy. They are keen to secure midfield cover for the remainder of the season and beyond, and Cantwell – rated at £30m – could offer just that.

It perhaps wouldn’t be a dissimilar signing to Swansea winger Dan James, who has chipped in with a decent haul of three goals and seven assists since joining United in the summer – starting all but two of their league games.

Elsewhere, the Longstaff interest alluded to by the Mail is backed up by reports elsewhere, that say United could move for either the Newcastle star or out-of-favour Juventus star Emre Can in a bid to ease their injury crisis.

And if we weren’t already convinced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new midfielder this month, then there is also reported interest in Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, whose representatives are believed to have been in the UK for talks over the New Year.

Aubameyang credited after Arsenal defeated Manchester United

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has finally had the last laugh after Arsenal defeated Manchester United on New Year’s Day.

Arsenal thrashed Manchester United 2 – 0 on Wednesday, January 1, with goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopoulos to hand Mikel Arteta his first win since replacing Unai Emery as head coach.

Before the game, Aubameyang was filmed by a United supporter who taunted him, saying:

You’re getting no goals tomorrow innit,’ the United fan @98DALLA told Aubameyang in a video posted to Twitter.

‘No goals, no goals! Absolutely no chance. Phil Jones’ pocket, how about that!’

After the match, an Arsenal fan left a comment on Aubameyang’s Instagram post saying: “Your work rate again today was insane. Where’s that Man United fan who was filming you last night? What a great start to the year.”

Aubameyang replied saying: “They are sleeping already,” followed by laughing emojis.

2-0: Arsenal gift Mikel Arteta his first win, beat Manchester United.

Arsenal were simply unplayable! The effortless swagger, acute temerity and tactical audacity displayed by the London club on Wednesday night was too much for a spine-less Manchester United team to bear.

Arsenal’s new coach Mikel Arteta was handed his first win as a manager after his game plan against Manchester United was executed to plan.

Arteta’s tactics was simple;
1- Shut down United’s wing-men, therefore stopping any potential counter attacks.

2. Dominate the midfield and win all the second balls

3. Attack through United’s wing back positions.
……. And it all worked out well.

Arsenal started pretty well and youngster Pepe broke the deadlock as he turned in after good work from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sead Kolasinac.

Pepe then again hit the post after making a mockery of Luke Shaw as Manchester United failed to get going before Sokratis made it two at the interval from close range.

United were better in the second half but failed to test goalkeeper Bernd Leno, granting Arteta a well deserved New Year’s gift.

Matic proclaims exit Manchester United in january.

Nemanja Matic Admits He Could Leave Manchester United in January

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matić claims that he will weigh up his future at Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

The Serbia international only has six month left on his contract in the north-west and has already been linked with a move to join Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.

Manchester United still have an option to extend Matić’s contract for another season, but the 31-year-old admits he’ll only stay at Old Trafford if he is still part of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans.

Nemanja Matic
“I don’t know what to say. I have a contract for another six months, we’ll see in January what’s going to happen,” Matić told Telegraf. “Will I extend the contract or try to find something else?

“United have some option to extend my contract, but we will see if the plans of the club match my plans. I couldn’t say anything more because I don’t really know either.”

Matić has spent the last two and a half years with Manchester United following a £40m move from Chelsea in 2017, where he’s gone on to make 95 appearance for the club across all competitions.

Joining after José Mourinho’s won three trophies in a single season at Manchester United, Matić is currently on his longest spell without any silverware in the last decade.

While the towering midfielder doesn’t appear to be wanted or needed at Manchester United, Atlético Madrid are apparently eager to sign him on a cut-price deal once the transfer window reopens.

Mino Raiola Insists Paul Pogba Will Not Leave Manchester United During January Transfer Window
Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has stated that the midfielder won’t be leaving the club in January, saying he is happy to go along with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s…

Manager Simeone wants to add some more experience to his side as Atléti look to cement their place inside the top four in La Liga.

Los Colchoneros are sitting behind Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla heading into the new year, while they’re only one point ahead of Imanol Alguacil’s impressive Real Sociedad side.

Marcos Rojo ‘on Standby’ in Argentina to Prepare for January Exit From Manchester United

Manchester United have allowed Marcos Rojo to return to Argentina to prepare himself for a January exit from Old Trafford.

The defender has started just one Premier League game this season and has not even been part of the matchday squad for United’s last eight matches in the competition, suggesting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not have a place for him in the team.

Partizan Belgrade v Manchester United: Group L – UEFA Europa League

He has now fully recovered from the muscle injury which initially sidelined him, but still has not been able to force his way back into Solskjaer’s plans, and now the Manchester Evening News report that he is nearing the exit door.

Rojo will be allowed to leave if the

club receive a satisfactory offer, and United are so confident of that happening that they have given him some time off to prepare himself for an imminent switch.

However, the only potential problem is Rojo’s salary. The Argentine earns close to £160,000 a week at Old Trafford, and that figure was behind the collapse of his proposed loan move to Everton during the summer

United were adamant that Rojo would only be allowed to leave on a permanent basis during the summer, but whether they would be prepared to accept a loan deal just to temporarily get him off their books remains to be seen.

With Eric Bailly nearing a long-awaited return from a knee injury, Solskjaer is set to have even more centre-back options in his squad. Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe and 19-year-old Di’Shon Bernard have operated as backups to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelöf, so there is simply no need for Rojo.

Eric Bailly

The club also plan to activate Bailly’s two-year extension in his current contract to prevent him from walking away when his deal expires in the summer, meaning Rojo is not likely to earn a place in the team any time soon.

In terms of potential landing sports, Argentinian side Estudiantes have previously been linked with Rojo, while Fenerbahçe have also monitored the defender, but it is unclear whether either side are still keen on him

Manchester United “interested” in Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes.

Manchester United are reported to hold an interest in Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes, as the midfielder’s representatives land in the UK looking to find him a new club.

United are believed to be in the market to recruit midfield talent, with Paul Pogba continuing to struggle with injury, and links with Christian Eriksen have recently resurfaced as we approach the reopening of the transfer window.

Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes was of course famously close to a move in the summer, but it’s another Lisbon-based Fernandes who United are now said to be looking at.

Gedson Fernandes
That’s because Sky Sports report on Monday that the Red Devils hold a vested interest in the signature of Benfica midfielder Gedson, who could move to the UK next month as his representatives are currently in England looking to negotiate a move for the 20-year-old.

He has made 58 appearances for the Portuguese champions after progressing through their youth ranks, but has recently fallen out of favour, and hasn’t started a league game since October – being left out of their last three altogether.

It’s expected that he will leave sooner rather than later, and though he has a £102m release clause in his contract, Benfica aren’t thought to be holding out for that fee for a player who is firmly out of the first-team picture at present.

Instead, it’s believed his representatives are offering a loan deal for the remainder of the season, with a £34m option to buy that could see him leave permanently in the summer.

Eber Bessa,Gedson Fernandes
United are said to be among the parties interested in bringing him in, and at just 20 years old, it certainly seems as if he fits the bill for what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he is looking for in new signings.

“Targets that we’re looking at, they’re long-term targets,” Solskjaer said earlier this month. “If there’s something popping up that might be as a short-term, maybe. But we’re always thinking long term.”

Whether or not Fernandes is considered a talent worth going in for, then, remains to be seen – but his may be a name worth earmarking for the weeks ahead.

Most Awful Stat Of Jesse Lingard 2019

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has ended the calendar year with an awful Premier League stat to his name after going through the last 12 months without a single goal or assist in the top flight.

The has been involved in three goals across all other competitions during 2019, scoring in the Europa League and FA Cup while also picking up an assist in the Carabao Cup.

But Lingard didn’t pick up a single goal or assist during the calendar year in the Premier League, despite making 28 appearances for Manchester United.

Jesse Lingard
Crucially, this stat comes with the caveat that winning a penalty doesn’t count as an assist – websites like Transfermarkt do count these as assists – as Lingard actually won his side a spot-kick which was converted by Paul Pogba against Burnley earlier this year.

Lingard has been involved in 49 goals for Manchester United, with the England international closing in on his 200th appearance for the club.

His best-ever season for the club came back in 2017/18, where Lingard scored 13 goals and picked up seven assists across all competitions.

Throughout 2019, Manchester United have had 17 different players contribute with either a goal or an assist in the Premier League.

While Lingard isn’t on that list, the likes of Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw, Fred and Ashley Young have all directly been involved in at least one goal in the top flight.

In just 10 Premier League appearances in 2019, even Alexis Sánchez set up a goal for Manchester United during the calendar year – a late Marcus Rashford goal against Newcastle United on January 2.

Ole Soksjaer Gunner reveals “tikki takka”won’t work out.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stressed that his side don’t have the ability to play ‘tippy-tappy football’ like their rivals Manchester City.

The 46-year-old has seen his side enjoy somewhat of an uptick in form in recent weeks, with Manchester United losing just one of their last eight games and are now just four points outside of the Champions League places.

United have been heavily reliant on direct and counter-attacking football during the recent run of results, with Solskjaer suggesting that ditching any attempt to play ‘tippy-tappy football’ has been essential for the team.

UEFA Europa League”Manchester United v AZ Alkmaar”
“We do have to make it hard to play against us. We can’t play tippy-tappy football,” Solskjaer said, as quoted by The Express.

“We can’t, at this moment in time, play like Manchester City. It is only City that can do that.

“We have to show more energy, drive, urgency and selflessness in every single game. That is the way we have to play at the moment.”

Manchester United’s improvement in form since November has seen them move to within touching distance of the top four places in the Premier League table – sitting behind just Sheffield United, Tottenham and Wolves.

With qualification to the Champions League now in touching distance ahead of crucial games against Arsenal and Liverpool over the next few weeks, Solskjaer is confident that Manchester United will finish inside the top four this season.

“If we get consistent it is not going to do down to the wire – we should get into the top four without waiting for the last game against Leicester,” he added.

“It could go down to the last game but for me, this team might be challengers for a lot more next year, definitely, because we are young.”

Before facing their top-six rivals next month, Manchester United first face a short trip to take on Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Red Devils haven’t lost against Burnley in over a decade. The Clarets last beat United thanks to a Robbie Blake strike early in the first half, while Michael Carrick also missed a penalty during the match.
