Two legends together; I can’t wait to see Messi and Ronaldo at Juve – Cuadrado

Two legends together. What are the chances of Lionel Messi joining up Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus? Juan Cuadrado says he cannot see it happening.

Juventus forward Juan Cuadrado cannot envisage unsettled Barcelona ace Lionel Messi joining up with Cristiano Ronaldo with the Serie A champions. Messi has sensationally told Barça he wants to leave the club, where the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has spent his entire professional career.

Messi won’t be joining Juventus
Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have been most strongly linked with moves for the 33-year-old. Others have fantasised that Messi could join Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin to bring together the two best players of the modern day, but Cuadrado would be surprised if such a move happened.

“I can’t imagine it at all. The truth is that I just can’t see it happening,” he told ESPN Nexo on Thursday. “But then again, just like with Cristiano, many people did not believe it would happen and all of a sudden, he arrived.”

Juve are preparing for the 2020-21 campaign under new coach Andrea Pirlo, who replaced Maurizio Sarri at the helm earlier this month.

Pirlo settling into new role
Cuadrado, who has been at the club since 2015 and initially arrived on loan, said he still has to hold talks with Pirlo to discuss his future plans. “I haven-t had the opportunity to talk to him yet. When it is my turn I will surely tell him where I feel much more comfortable [playing],” he said. “Hopefully for his knowledge of the game and for what a great player he was, he can contribute to the team and that we can win many trophies together.”

Juve puts Higuain on Transfer List

Juventus have reportedly slapped an €18m price tag on Gonzalo Higuain, who is being pursued by River Plate and clubs in England.

Higuain and River have been vocal in their admiration for one another throughout the coronavirus lockdown, but the Argentine side could be facing competition from Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

As per Tuttojuve, Juve are prepared to sell the striker this summer but for no less than €18m to ensure they do not make a loss from his sale on their balance sheet.

The Bianconeri paid €90m to take him from Napoli in 2016, and he has repaid them with 63 goals in 139 appearances, eight of which have come in the current campaign.

On the other hand, he can leave the Old Lady for nothing when his contract expires in June 2021.

Juve considers offering Sandro in swap deal with Chelsea’s Emerson

Serie A holders Juventus are prepared to offer Alex Sandro in a potential exchange deal for Chelsea defender Emerson, a report from Tuttosport claims.
Emerson has experienced a difficult season with the Blues this term and he has been restricted to only 13 starts in the Premier League under manager Frank Lampard.

As a result, there has been the speculation over his future at the west London side and Tuttosport reports that the Bianconeri are confident of luring him back to the Serie A this summer.

Lampard’s side are currently said to value Emerson at £22m (€25m) but the Turin giants are aiming to propose a swap deal involving Sandro, which would financially benefit them.

Fiorentina Prefers Chiesa to Inter than Juventus

Fiorentina would rather sell star player Federico Chiesa to Inter rather than Juventus according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
Both clubs are long term admirers of the 22-year-old Italian national team winger and the report claims that Fiorentina will give preferential treatment to Inter in the event that the pair submit an offer for him worth the same amount or if Inter’s offer is greater than Juventus’.

The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that since Rocco Commisso’s arrival as Fiorentina owner and president, it has become particularly difficult for Juventus to do business with La Viola.

Juventus are aware of how hard it will be and as a result they have identified Valencia’s Ferran Torres as a player they could move for if unable to land Chiesa.

This season Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

Rugani ‘thinking of leaving Juventus & is set to command a £22m transfer fee’

Reported Arsenal target Daniele Rugani is thinking of leaving Juventus and is set to command a £22million transfer fee this summer, according to Calciomercato.

The Gunners have struggled at the back this season and Mikel Arteta could potentially be looking to bolster his defence ahead of next season.

Rugani, meanwhile, has previously been linked with an exit from Juventus, but to his credit, has always opted to stay and fight for his place in the team.

However, with just three Serie A appearances all season and seven in all competitions in 2019-20, the 25-year-old is said to be considering his future.

Calciomercato claims that Rugani “isn’t considered the first choice” at Juve and is now evaluating “different projects where he can be a protagonist”.

The report also claims that the Bianconeri “will be looking to sell him for budgetary reasons”.

Del Piero: Dybala’s journey has just begun and will get even better

Alessandro Del Piero both praised and criticised Juventus star Paulo Dybala. “With his talent and his mentality, he must do even more. Set himself no limits and conquer the future.”

The former and current Juve Number 10 spoke on Instagram with a livestream chat on Saturday.

“The kind of goal that he scored against Inter proves that he is a player of extraordinary quality. What a goal like that must do is give him even more confidence and awareness of his potential,” said Alex.

“In fact, I’ll go one further. Someone with his capabilities, his talent and I’ll add his mentality, must do even more. Paulo must set himself no limits and conquer the future.

“Nobody gives you anything for free, especially not at Juve, and I say that from experience. You have to prove everything to the very last game, let alone before the peak of your career.

“Dybala’s journey has just begun and will get even better – with the Bianconeri jersey on his back, obviously.”
