[Nigeria] Gunmen waste Village Head in Nasarawa


Gunmen have killed the village head of Odu community, Udege development area in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Amos Ewa Obere.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe, confirmed this to Media (known to Noble Reporters Media).

He said the killing occurred on Friday night, around 10 pm when the perpetrators stormed the community and shot the deceased, thus leading to his death.


Longe noted that the traditional leader sustained a grave injury in his stomach as a result of the gunshot and was rushed to the Mararaba Udege General Hospital, for medical attention where he gave up the ghost.

The police boss revealed that security has been beefed up in the area.

Obere was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police and the ward head of Odu and other surrounding villages.


Kogi gunmen attack: 14 lose to death. [Video]


Gunmen on Wednesday invaded Agbudu community in Koton-Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State, killing 14 persons with six others injured.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ede Ayuba, confirmed the attack to journalists in Lokoja, the state capital.

According to him, the dead victims include 13 members of the same family and one other person.


“Fourteen people were killed and six people were fatally injured. The sad thing is that out of these 14 dead bodies that were brought out, 13 are from one family,” the police commissioner said.

He added, “But in the interim, I want to give you that assurance that we are not going to relent in our efforts.

“We will make sure that we get to the root of anything that is behind the killings around that zone.”

Ayuba said as soon as he got wind of the situation, he quickly dispatched a team of police operatives, including the Divisional Police Officer in the area to the community.


He, however, explained that the gunmen fled the area before the arrival of security personnel.

Residents of Agbudu community in Koton-Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State, have been thrown into mourning following the killing of 14 persons on July 29, 2020.

Ayuba pledged that the State Police Command would not relent in its efforts to tracking the perpetrators of the crime.

The commissioner said that the police had carried out some preliminary investigations and discovered that there had been long-standing communal feud in the community.

He noted that the police authorities are investigating the attack, adding that the paramount ruler adding that the real cause of the violence will be revealed soon.


Gunmen abduct mother and son, kill lawyer


A Kaduna based lawyer working with the state Ministry of Justice, Haro Gandu has been killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

The gunmen also abducted the wife of the deceased and his first son to an unknown destination.

Although the police in Kaduna state is yet to confirm the incident, a colleague of the late lawyer told Media (known to Noble Reporters Media) that the gunmen stormed his house located at Kakawu area along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on Sunday midnight, and broke into his room through the window.

He said that the gunmen shot the deceased at close range when he attempted to escape through the back, and later took his wife and first son away.

Mr Haro Gandu was shot at close range, by some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

According to the source, the deceased until his death was a deputy director in the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice.


One out of 6 ‘runaway’ prisoners in Plateau rearrested


One out of the six inmates who escaped after an attack by gunmen on the premises of the High Court in Plateau State has been rearrested.

Troops of Operation Safe Haven deployed at Rarin-Shou village on Friday rearrested the inmate who is from the Jos Correctional Centre.

The Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Chujwuemeka Okonkwo told Channels Television that the manhunt launched by troops of the task force to search for the escapees turned out positive with the arrest Ibrahim Mohammed while the search for others is still ongoing.

The rearrested suspect has been handed over to the Nigerian Correctional Service Plateau State Centre.

Gunmen Attack High Court Premises
This comes after gunmen on Thursday attacked the premises of the High Court in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, thereby forcefully setting free six inmates from the Nigerian Correctional Centre.


The inmates were said to have been brought from the Jos Correctional Centre for trial in Barkin Ladi when the incident occurred.

The gunmen, however, aided the escape of six out of 10 inmates with their offences ranging from murder to kidnapping and rape.

Tragedy struck in Plateau State on Monday when gunmen attacked the General Hospital in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

Noble Reporters Media gathered that a private security guard on duty was shot dead during the attack, while three others were injured, including a staff of the hospital and a police officer.

Speaking to Media TV (known to Noble Reporters Media), the President of Gashshi District Development Association, Francis Chong said it was strange and unimaginable that a health facility that accommodates all tribes and religions would be attacked without just cause.


“This is a novel attack which is not comprehensible at all; it is not yet clear what the motives of the attackers could attack a hospital where people of all shades of life converge for treatment,” he said.

Chong, however, noted that the two staff of the hospital are receiving treatment from the hospital in Barkin Ladi.

Meanwhile, the State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident involving the police officer.


[Nigeria] Gunmen kidnap policewoman, 5 others in Kaduna


Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a policewoman, her daughter, and four other persons at Bagado Village near Patrick Yakowa way in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

Although police authorities are yet to confirm the incident, eyewitnesses say the incident happened in the late hours of Saturday night, when the bandits stormed the community and started breaking into people’s houses shooting sporadically into the air.

Sources say the gunmen abducted most of their victims after pulling down the windows and burglaries of the houses, while others were ordered to come out at gunpoint.


[Taraba] Gunmen takes custody of Former Lawmaker, Police Cleric


A former Senator representing Northern Taraba, Ambuno Zik-Sunday, has been kidnapped in Taraba State.

Also kidnapped was the cleric of the Taraba State Police Command’s Mosque, Mohammed Nuhu.

The former lawmaker was abducted in his hometown Bachama community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba yesterday while paying homage to his people.

Mr Nuhu on the other hand was kidnapped from his house in Jalingo in the early hours of Monday.


The police public relations officer David Misal made this disclosure at the police command office in Jalingo while presenting cache of arms recovered from suspected bandits, and parading some tricycle thieves.

He noted that efforts are in top gear to rescue the lawmaker and the cleric.

Speaking on how the arms were recovered, the police image maker disclosed that security operatives acted based on intelligence reports.

According to him, when some bandits crossed from Karim Lamido LGA to Lau Council and sighted the police, they ran away into the bush and abandoned their motorcycles.


The police spokesman noted that while carrying out a search, 10 serviceable AK 47 rifles, 13 magazines, and 425 live ammunition were recovered.

The police say it believes that the arms recovered are purchased for the purpose of attacks, kidnappings as well as for distribution to criminal gangs across the state.

He says efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects.

Also paraded on Monday were pharmacists whose contraband drugs were intercepted in a truck that arrived in Jalingo from Anambra state.


The police say most of the drugs intercepted contain codeine which has been banned by regulatory agencies in Nigeria.

All the paraded suspects confessed to have committed the crimes for which they were apprehended.

Mr Ahmed Azare, the Taraba State police commissioner, applauded the patriotic people of Taraba for supporting the police with useful information.

He urged members of the public to be more security conscious and promptly report to the police all criminal elements around their neighborhoods for necessary action.


Kogi FMC COVID-19 briefing in disrupt amid gunmen attack


The Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lokoja, Kogi State, has been attacked by unidentified gunmen.

The gunmen disrupted a press briefing which was to demand a COVID-19 screening center in Kogi.

Shots were fired in the air to disperse the people on the ground who were present to discuss challenges medical professionals are facing in the coronavirus pandemic.

Laptops, phones, and other valuables were carted away by the gunmen who assault anyone who stood in their way

Official says gunmen have attacked stock exchange building in the country’s financial hub and four assailants killed.

Gunmen have attacked the Pakistani stock exchange building in the city of Karachi, and four assailants have been killed, an official said.

The gunmen attacked the building with grenades and guns. The building is in a high-security zone and also houses the head offices of many private banks.

Faisal Edhi, the chief of the country's main rescue ambulance service, said four attackers have been killed by the security forces so far.

“Two were killed at the gate, and two of them went inside in an injured state and were then killed there,” Edhi said, speaking to reporters close to the site of the attack in Karachi’s main business district.



Former commissioner of Edo in trouble. [Nigeria]

A former Commissioner for Sports and Local Government Council Chairman in Edo State, Hon. Egbe Ediagbonya, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen.

Also said to have been kidnapped is the Director of Primary Healthcare (PHC) in the state, Dr. Monday Iraoya.

Ediagbonya was said to have been abducted on his Okada farm settlement near Utese, Ovia North East in the early hours of Saturday.

A family source said he was kidnapped between 2am and 4 am when the gunmen broke into his farm house and took him away at gunpoint.

The suspected kidnappers, it was gathered, have opened communication with his family and were asking for N15 million ransom.


Ediagbonya was chairman of Ovia North East Local Council and later Commissioner for Sports in the administration of Adams Oshiomhole.

Director of Primary Healthcare in Owan East Local Government Area, Iraoya, was also said to have been kidnapped while travelling from Afuze to Benin to collect COVID-19 training materials.

He was reportedly kidnapped between Uhunmora and Ozalla on Friday and the kidnappers are reportedly asking for N100 million ransom.


A family source said: “He was kidnapped on Friday, May 15, while travelling to Benin to collect training materials for COVID-19. They have contacted the family and are requesting for N100 million but we were only able to raise N900,000.”

Reacting to the incidences, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was expecting a comprehensive briefing from the police formations in the two areas.



Kaduna APC Vice Chairman Abducted, One Other By Gunmen. [Nigeria]

The Police Command in Kaduna on Thursday confirmed the abduction of the Vice-Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC), Kaduna State chapter, Shu’aibu Idris-Lauge and his daughter.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the incident in Kaduna. NobleReporters report

According to him, Shu’aibu and his daughter were abducted from their Kwanar Zango residence along Kaduna-Zaria express way on Thursday morning.


“Efforts are being made to rescue the kidnapped victims, apprehend and bring the culprits to book,” he said.

Jalige, therefore, appealed to the public to support the Police by providing useful information that would lead to the rescue of the victims.



Gunmen Abduct Ekiti Commissioner. [Nigeria]


Gunmen have reportedly abducted the Commissioner for Agriculture in Ekiti State, Folorunso Olabode and shot dead a councillor who was with him.


NobleReporters quoted TVC news, as saying on Sunday evening in Ekiti that the kidnap and murder took place between Isan and Iludun-Ekiti area of the State.

However, the Ekiti State Government, in a statement confirmed the abduction of the commissioner.


It said Olabode, was kidnapped by suspected bandits at about 7:00pm on Sunday April 26, 2020 on his way from Ado-Ekiti to his hometown in Iye-Ekiti, Ilejemeje LGA of Ekiti State.

“From initial reports, the kidnappers shot one person in his entourage, the driver of the vehicle, a serving Councillor, in the ensuing fracas,” Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation said in the statement.

The statement said Governor Kayode Fayemi has mandated the security agencies in the State to ensure their prompt and safe release, while assuring residents that adequate measures were ongoing, to maintain the peace and security of the State.


“He promised that all perpetrators of this and any crime would be brought to book.

“The Commissioner for Police in Ekiti State, Amba Asuquo, has confirmed that a team has already been dispatched, and are on the trail of the abductors, with a view to securing their release,” the statement said.

Insecurities: Catholic priest abducted by gunmen in Benin

A Catholic Priest serving at the Uromi Diocese, Father Nicholas Oboh, has been abducted by gunmen in Benin City.

Chancellor Uromi diocese, Rev Father Osi Odenore, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said Father Oboh was abducted on Valentine’s day but was not specific in the area where the abduction took place. He called for prayers for the release of the priest.

“We are sure he is alive, and since the incident, steps have be taken to ensure that Rev Father Nicholas Oboh is release without no harm.” he added.

In a similar development, four children were abducted at Umelu community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo state.

It was gathered that armed robbers had robbed residents in the area and took four children along with them. According to reports, one of the abducted children has been released after the parents paid the sum of N2m, while other parents have opened negotiations with the abductors.


Why justice must be done – Oko Oloyun’s father said ..

Alhaji Adigun Yusuf, father of the popular Lagos-based trado-medical expert, Fatai Yusuf, otherwise known as Oko Oloyun, who was killed by yet unknown gunmen along Eruwa-Igbo-Ora Road in Oyo State on Thursday, Jan.23, has called on the police to ensure justice is served in the murder of his son.

While speaking at the family’s Lagos home, Alhaji Adigun said his call for justice was not meant for his son only, adding that justice would show evildoers that they can’t get away with such heinous crime.

“He is a big loss to the family of Yusuf and the country. I want justice, not just because he is my son, but we can’t continue like this. This trend of killing will continue if justice is not served.

“I leave everything to the police to do their job faithfully and diligently”, the distraught father said.

Alhaji Adigun also spoke about the impact of Fatai Yusuf during his lifetime.

He said: “Fatai was an important son, he made me proud in all ways. I and his mother started this trado-medical job but we were only known in our village.

“Fatai lifted the name of this family, he lifted the name of his village, Otu.

NAHCO chairman’s mother abducted in Ondo ..

Suspected gunmen have abducted the mother of a popular businessman and Chairman of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, Mr Sehinde Fadeni, in Ondo State.

Madam Alice Fadeni was kidnapped on Tuesday evening at her residence in Ode Aye town in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

NobleReporters learnt that the hoodlums numbering about four stormed the town around 5:30pm before seizing Madam Fadeni at her home.

A source, who confirmed the abduction, told our correspondent that the woman was driven out her compound in a Sienna vehicle.

According to the source, the whereabouts of Mrs Fadeni was not yet known as the case had already been reported to the police.

“She was kidnapped yesterday (Tuesday) evening at her house and we have reported the case to the police immediately but we still don’t know her locations,” the source said.

Also, Mr Nicholas Tofowomo, lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial discrict at the National Assembly, confirmed the abduction, describing it as “evil”.

He said, “We urge security agencies to secure her unconditional release and bring the perpetrators to book.”

He said the police had already begun investigation into the case and would ensure the aged woman was rescued alive.


Police nabbed armed robbers after killing couple in Abia ..

The Abia State Police Command has arrested and paraded a suspected armed robber identified as Kingsley Emezue alias Pakins alongside his gang members Enyinna Asiegbu (25) and Promise Sunday Obilor a.k.a Esere (26), for reportedly killing a couple before their three children.

Abia State’s Police Commissioner, Ene Okon told newsmen that the arrested suspects were connected to Sampson Iheukwumere Nwokocha a.k.a Grave, a notorious robber killed in December by the police.

He said the suspects who initially relocated after their gang leader was killed, returned to Umuahia in January 2020 after they thought the manhunt for them has been called off.

“The gang seemed to have gone on holidays to enjoy their loots and resurfaced around January 10, 2020, in what seems like recouping of expenses made during the Yuletides. The six-man gang on January 25, 2020, operating in a tricycle, snatched a Toyota Sienna van with registration number RBC477RL, along Health Center Road in World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia.

“The gang, while operating in a Sienna van, shot and killed a couple, Mr and Mrs Darlington Chinyere Uzoma, along Secretariat Road, Ogwurube Layout, Umuahia. This was after robbing them of proceeds of the day’s sales.

“They robbed and shot Basil Okechukwu of Obowo, Imo State, on January 16, around Post Office Umuahia Road. Okechukwu was killed while on transit with the money he withdrew from bank.

“Officers from the Central Police Station, Umuahia and operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on ‘Operation Puff Adder’ went after the hoodlums and intercepted a tricycle conveying two of the hoodlums named Precious Chukwuebuka Okoro and Ogbonna Ifeanyichukwu Justice. Interrogation of the duo resulted in the subsequent arrest of the other members of the gang namely; Enyinna Asiegbu (25), Promise Sunday Obilor (26) aka Esere and Emezue Kingsley (20) aka Pakins.”

Emezue introduced himself as a butcher when questioned by newsmen and also disclosed that he was lured into armed robbery by bad friends.

He said;

“We did the robbery operation actually on Saturday night, but I did not shoot the couple. It was our driver that shot them.”


Why Oko Oloyun was shot dead: Police explained ..

The police stated that Oko Oloyun’s death may be connected to the fraud case in his Lagos office.

24 hours after the assassination of popular traditional medicine expert, Alhaji Fatai Yusuf, popularly known as Oko Oloyun, the Oyo Police Command says it has commenced investigation into the murder and that it probably has a clue on why he was gunned down.

Oko Oloyun was on Thursday, January 23, 2020, shot dead by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

Pulse had reported that the trado-medical practitioner was on his way from an outing when the gunmen shot at his vehicle along Eruwa-Igboora Road in the Ibarapa Central area of Oyo.

In a statement made available to the public on Friday, January 24, the state Police Command disclosed that two police escorts attached to the late businessman and some members of his staff are in custody for interrogation.

The interrogation, according to the police, followed a tip off on an alleged fraud perpetrated recently in Oko Oloyun’s Lagos office.

“Some of the staff and his two (2) Police escorts are being questioned by a team of crack detectives from the homicide section of State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Iyaganku, Ibadan with a view to finding and apprehending the fleeing suspects who wrecked the heinous act,” Oyo Police Spokesman, Gbenga Fadeyi said in the statement.

Possible motive

Fadeyi said the deceased may have been killed due to an alleged book-keeping fraud he detected in his Lagos office, adding that the ‘fraud’ he found out “allegedly led to the burning/destruction of some financial/bookkeeping records.”

“In addition to other possible motives, a plausible nexus is therefore being suspected between the fire incident and the attack on the deceased,” Fadeyi explained.

The police spokesman however appealed to members of the public with credible information on Oko Oloyun’s death to come forward.


Niger attack: 11 killed by alleged gunmen..

Gunmen, who invaded some communities in Niger State, have killed 11 people and also kidnapped four women.

The gunmen stormed Kudodo, Galapai, Dnakpala Makera and Dnalgwa communities in the early hours of Saturday.

The bandits were said to have moved from house to house to carry out their activities, NobleReporters reported.

Senator representing Niger-East Senatorial District, Alhaji Sani Musa, confirmed the latest attack, saying that the situation was getting out of hand.

The lawmaker lamented the incessant killings and called on the Federal Government and security agencies to up their strategies.

He said, “As the attacks continued, more villagers in my constituency are awaiting their fate as no sign of succour seems to be coming their way.

“It is confirmed that the bandits are attacking all through the night to this afternoon


11 election officials abducted by gunmen in Calabar re-run

Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted election officials with materials that were headed for the 8 polling units in Afayna/Igoni-Igoni ward under Abi state constituency in Cross River State.

The Federal Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in charge of South-South region, Dr. Mohammed Lecky told newsmen during election duties that the incident occurred in the middle of the river leading to the community.

Backed by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Alalibo Johnson and the Administrative Secretary of INEC in the state Mrs. Irene Ngozi Oghuma, the Federal Commissioner said the unknown gunmen accosted the Electoral officials with materials and went away with all the voting materials along with the SPO (State Presiding Officer).

According to him, the security men that accompanied the materials and men of election duties decided to avoid casualty by not engaging the unknown armed men in the middle of the river.

He expressed sadness over the incident but thanked God that all the NYSC members on duty and other election duty officials have returned safely to office except the SPO, whose phone is ringing but he is not picking.

He said the total number of registered voters in the affected area where the materials have been hijacked is 5606.

The Re-run in Cross River State affected 33 polling units covering Ekureku ward one and ward two for Abi/YAKURR Federal Constituency where Dr. Alex Ebona of the APC is aiming to retain the seat he won during the February 2019 elections.

The Re-run also affected some wards in the Abi State House of Assembly constituency.

Across many other polling units visited during the voting hours, there was a huge turnout of voters.

The PDP candidate, Hon. John Gual Lebo, whose petition led to the rerun election refuse to speak to newsmen as he was seen holding meeting with his supporters at the resident of the former governor of the state.

However, Dr. Alex Ebona, the APC candidate expressed satisfaction over the huge turnout of voters noting that the incident of hijack of material occurred in the area for the state house constituency election.

According to him, he is told the election in the affected area will be held the next day if the problem was not resolved before close of voting.

Dr Alex Egbona, said:” The turn out is encouraging and you know that the election is in my community. I am in touch with my community and that is why you see this unprecedented turn out.”

“I encourage all voters to vote according to their conscience as nobody would molest them. This is democracy so vote according to your choice. But I can tell you with this development I would emerge victorious.”

The election materials arrived very early just as voters turned out as early as 6: 30 am.

It was also observed that the INEC officials had initial difficulty in containing the mammoth crowd, especially at Gbagaro Agbara and Egbonyi polling units within Ekureku II ward.

Speaking on the conduct of the election, the presiding officer for Gbagaro Agbara polling unit, Mr Isaac Oke, said: “I can tell you the election materials arrived at 8:00am and we commended accreditation immediately because the voters were already on ground.

“There is large turn out of voters as you can see. The card reader is very slow, but we promise to ensure that everybody would vote at the end of the day.

Also speaking INEC observer, Mr Jubril Isa, commended the voters for their peaceful and orderly conduct but observed that the processes are slow.

He enjoined INEC to try and improve upon it so that no voter is disenfranchised this exercise.


Popular medicine practitioner, Oko Oloyun shot dead by gunmen

Fatai Yusuf, a well known traditional medicine practitioner popularly known as Oko Oloyun was on Thursday, January 23, shot dead by unknown gunmen.

The Oyo police command disclosed that Yusuf died after he was shot by suspected assassins around 4.30 pm while traveling in his vehicle on Eruwa-Igbo-Ora road, The Guardian reports.

The police said Yusuf’s body has been deposited in the Igbo-Ora General Hospital.


Night duty officer shot dead; police still in search of suspect

The search for a suspect continues after an officer-involved shooting on Monday in Howland Township.

Howland Township Police Chief Nick Roberts has sent out a BOLO alert for the alleged suspect. He is described as a black male in his mid-30s with a thin build. He is around 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie and athletic shoes. Police say he spoke in a high-toned voice and is armed with a silver revolver.

He was driving a full-sized, early 2000s model black SUV. Officials last spotted him heading southbound on Pine Avenue. If you spot the suspect or vehicle, you’re asked to call the police and not approach him.

According to Warren Police Chief Eric Merkel, the Warren officer was off duty at the time and stopped to help out what he thought was a disabled vehicle in the area of Pine Avenue. The incident somehow escalated and both parties fired shots.

After the shooting, the officer said he thought he was hit but wasn’t.

“When I initially came out here, it was reported to us that he was shot two times, but he was wearing his bulletproof vest and that they did not penetrate. But the story has changed that he didn’t have his vest on,” Chief Roberts said. “Like I said, he was off duty and returning home from work, and he was not hit by any rounds.”

Chief Merkel also confirmed that the officer was not wearing a bulletproof vest since he was not on duty.

The officer involved was taken to the hospital to be checked out as a precaution. He has since been released and was not hurt.

At one point, dozens of police officers converged in the area of Mauro Circle in Niles.

Officials say they were in the area because a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the shooting fled from Niles police. At this point, they are not believed to be involved in the shooting incident.

The Howland Township Police Department has called in the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to assist.

The Warren Police Department will be doing its own investigation.

Police say they are not releasing the officer’s name at this time.


Withdrawing Military from affected areas could cause more disaster – Sule, Ortom plea

…no mock exam candidate should be asked to pay ‘N6500’ extra fee

Governors Abdullahi Sule and Samuel Ortom of Nasarawa and Benue states have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari not to withdraw the military operation “Operation Whirl Strokes” in the two states.

The governors made the appeal, yesterday, at a joint security meeting of the two states in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Ortom and Sule also disclosed that they have written formally to the authorities concerned to stay put on the withdrawal till the situations on the border line of the two states improves.

Leading discussion on the matter, Governor Sule suggested to the federal government to give the two states another two years to work on a complete master plan for the return of peace among citizens of the states living on the border line.

Sule, argued that the withdrawal of the Operation Whirl Strokes at the moment as planned by the government would not augur well to the affected communities as security in such areas was still fragile.

However, he applauded his Benue State counterpart, Ortom, for embracing the federal government’s National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP) which according to him, “its implementation would go a long way to mitigating the skirmishes between herders and farmers in the two states.”

Also speaking, Ortom insisted that the Benue State anti-open grazing prohibitation and ranching law had come to stay in the state,. However, he called on governments at all levels in the country to support herdmen with incentives as been done to farmers.

Ortom appreciated his host, Governor Sule, for initiating the peace process for the two states and pledged to be committed to anything that will add peace to them.

The Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Traditional Council, Justice Sidi Bage (retd), on his part appealed to the Benue State governor to review the state’s anti-open grazing prohibition and ranching law.

The monarch, however, commended the governor and people of the state for coming up with the anti-open grazing prohibition and ranching law.

Meanwhile, Ortom has directed the State Examination Board to immediately revert to the old registration fee of N4,500 for mock Senior School Certificate Examination in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Terver Akase, on Sunday in Makurdi.

Before the development, secondary school final year students have been instructed by the state examination board to pay the sum of N6,500 instead of the N4,500 previously paid.

He also directed the Ministry of Education to ensure that school principals strictly comply with the directive.

“No candidate for the mock examination in the state should be asked to pay the new fee of N6,500”, Ortom warned.
