Rudiger in racial mess over ex-chelsea star dismissal.

Rudiger received a barrage of racial abuse after Lampard was dismissed, both directly and indirectly…

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has revealed that he suffered ‘immense’ racial abuse in the aftermath of Frank Lampard’s sacking, but believes social media companies will not make any changes to tackle this issue.

The 27-year-old has been blamed by some sections of the Blues fanbase for their former coach’s departure, but he dismissed these rumours as nonsense.

However, Rudiger received a barrage of racial abuse after Lampard was dismissed, both directly and indirectly on Twitter and Instagram. Chelsea are investigating the matter, and will hand any evidence over to the police.

And, speaking to the club’s website, the German defender has since suggested that social media companies ‘don’t really care’ about the ease in which the public can hurl derogatory insults at people in the spotlight.

“To be very honest, I don’t know about all these social media things but I think the more people who make accounts, they make money off it,” Rudiger said.

“So me personally, I think they don’t really care because as you know money has power so the rest doesn’t matter so it’s hard to tell if people will make a change on that.”

Rudiger described the level of racism he experienced as ‘immense’, and claimed that his conscience is clear over the sacking of Lampard, despite the suggestions that his attitude led to the Chelsea legend’s demise.

“My conscience is clear. I know I did not do all that nonsense. I am open for every new coach as I was open also for Mr Lampard.

“I cannot control people’s emotions but people should be human beings. I didn’t post anything but the racial abuse was immense. This makes me stronger because I know who I am and I can look in the mirror and smile.

“Of course if hurts, but in this case I just block it out because I know I didn’t do anything.”

The German international has started all five of Chelsea’s most recent fixtures, and he has impressed under new coach Thomas Tuchel.

Here is what Tottenham clash mean to Chelsea’s Tuchel.

Advertisements

Tuchel’s team must also show some more creativity against yet another side who will look to sit back and frustrate the Blues.

For even the biggest Frank Lampard supporter, it was hard to overlook his Chelsea side’s shortcomings in big games.

Advertisements

His Blues roared to the top of the Premier League table by dispatching of so-called smaller teams, but whenever a genuine rival rocked up at Stamford Bridge, it was a different story, and that was a large part of the reason why he was given the boot.

Owner Roman Abramovich was concerned that Chelsea didn’t have what it took to fight their way back into the top four under Lampard, so he made the hugely controversial decision to show Lampard the exit door and replace him with Thomas Tuchel.

Advertisements

The German’s infectious positivity has won over most fans already, and a 0-0 draw with Wolves and 2-0 win over Burnley have brought a nice start to the Tuchel reign, but Thursday’s meeting with Tottenham will be the first real test.

Level on points with Chelsea but with a game in hand, Spurs are the first top-ten opponent Tuchel will face since moving to Stamford Bridge, and they’re the first real chance for the boss to prove he can take Chelsea further than Lampard could.

It’s an opportune time to play Spurs, who are down in the dumps after bad defeats to Liverpool and Brighton. Even the eight-game unbeaten streak which has only just ended wasn’t impressive enough to keep spirits high.

Advertisements

Turning his Chelsea side into one who don’t hand out free wins to struggling teams (a flaw present well before Lampard’s time) is important enough, but Tuchel’s team must also show some more creativity against yet another side who will look to sit back and frustrate the Blues.

Against Wolves, a league high in passing brought zero goals, and while the chances were more frequent against Burnley, there was still a feeling that Chelsea were missing a little oomph. Relying on Callum Hudson-Odoi to outpace Robbie Brady isn’t a tactic.

That lethargy is to be expected, given Tuchel has been in charge for just two games. His Chelsea have shown improvement already, but they must go one step further against a Spurs side who will likely prove to be stiffer opposition.

This is the game which will kick-start the Tuchel era. A dominant victory will bring some real momentum, but a pass-heavy performance with little in attack will bring back terrifying memories of Maurizio Sarri’s tenure.

Advertisements

Likely being without the injured Kai Havertz won’t help that, but in Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, Tuchel has more than enough firepower to pick through Spurs’ stubborn defence.

Lampard had the same tools in his arsenal, but as we saw in November’s goalless draw between these two sides, he was unable to make them click. It was decided that Tuchel could do that, and this is his first real chance to prove it.

Havertz praises Frank Lampard

Advertisements

Chelsea’s new record signing Kai Havertz says the opportunity to work with Frank Lampard had a ‘big impact’ in his decision to move to Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old finally completed a sensational £89m move to the Blues on Friday, after months of speculation about a transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

Havertz becomes the club’s sixth major signing of an incredible transfer window, taking their total spending to an enormous £230m, and the man himself spoke glowingly about his new manager – both as a player and as a coach.

‘Of course he had a big impact on my decision because I loved him as a player and watched him very often, and I think I can learn from him now he is a manager as well,’ Havertz told the official club website.

‘I think he is a very humble person and a great guy and I can’t wait to play with him and learn from him.

‘He was very offensive like me and he loves to score goals, and I love to score goals as well so I think he will help me a lot in my position. Also maybe on the things that I can improve and I can’t wait to work with him.’

Havertz’s move makes the 21-year-old the joint most expensive player ever signed by a British club, along with Paul Pogba, who joined Manchester United in 2016.

The Premier League transfer record is £145m, which Liverpool received from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

Havertz, who is in the current squad with the German national team, will also join up with compatriots Antonio Rudiger and fellow summer signing Timo Werner in west London.

‘I think it is very exciting because Chelsea has very young players and I know some of the players like Timo [Werner] and Toni [Rudiger],’ Havertz added.

‘I have played with them in the national team and they are good friends of mine and so I think this is very good for me.

‘Also that Chelsea have very young players and English players and that is very nice and a big project. Hopefully we can have many successes.’

Kante is one of the best players in the world – Lampard

Advertisements

Frank Lampard has described N’Golo Kante as “one of the best players in the world”, while insisting the midfielder has been a huge miss for Chelsea during an injury-hit 2019-20 campaign.

Advertisements

Kante has established himself as one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League over the last five years, impressing with his all-action style and relentless energy levels in the middle of the park.

The 29-year-old has won top-flight titles at both Leicester and Chelsea during that period, and became a World Cup winner with France in 2018.

Kante has racked up over 34 Premier League appearances in each of the past four seasons, but that record appears to have caught up with him over the past 10 months.

Frank Lampard has rarely been able to call upon the ex-Foxes star for more than a handful of games at a time, with niggling injuries significantly limiting his contribution to the Blues’ cause.

Advertisements

An adductor issue suffered during a home defeat to Manchester United had kept Kante sidelined since February, but the coronavirus-enforced break in the season has allowed him extra time to recover.

Lampard is hopeful that a talismanic figure’s fitness problems will be a thing of the past when football finally resumes, and he is also looking forward to welcoming Ruben Loftus-Cheek back into the fold after a long-term injury lay-off.

“We had four or five of those [injured players] when we finished playing recently. N’Golo Kante is obviously a great example because he’s played four or five incredible seasons in terms of his individual success and he’s been used quite rightly by his managers a lot,” the Chelsea boss told BT Sport.

Advertisements

“This season he’s played only about 40% of our games and even then it’s been difficult for him and I’ve really felt for him on an individual level. He’s been a huge miss for us.

“Looking forward, whenever a restart comes we want to get him in the best shape, want to get Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the best shape.

“We’ve had slightly different plans for them but they’ve been scuppered with what we’ve had to do. The players’ health comes first, the mental well-being of the players comes first.

Advertisements

“The self-isolation was tough at first because nobody really knew what it was about we are just trying to get those players who have had extra problems fitter and of course when we get a chance to get back to full training we can get them back to where we need them to be.

“We obviously need N’Golo Kante back in our team, one of the best players in the world. I knew that before I became manager of Chelsea and know that now from working with him.

“I haven’t been able to have him much this year and going forward we, of course, want him fit and raring to go.”

Lampard ‘calls Mertens almost every day’ to encourage Napoli star to move

Advertisements

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is “calling Dries Mertens almost every day” to encourage the Napoli striker to move, claims transfer intermediary Vincenzo Morabito.

Advertisements

There had already been multiple reports of strong Chelsea interest in the Belgium international in January, and he will be a free agent when his Napoli contract expires in the summer.

“Mertens had originally said he wanted to stay at Napoli, but then his lawyer started offering him to various international clubs, meaning something changed between the player and the Azzurri,” Morabito told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“I know this because I was working on the Olivier Giroud issue when he was meant to leave Chelsea in January, with a lucrative contract line up for Mertens.

“Chelsea have now extended Giroud’s contract as a precaution, but they are very interested in Mertens and Lampard is calling him almost every day. I can see Mertens going to Chelsea.”

Inter, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have also been mentioned when it comes to the Belgian striker.

Meanwhile, Morabito also gave an update on the Edinson Cavani situation.

“I spoke to the people who are looking after his interests and it seems to me he will sign on for another year with PSG. The alternative would be Atletico Madrid.”

COVID-19: Frank Lampard cancel Chelsea training.

Chelsea players were reportedly ordered not to attend training on Thursday after ‘someone close to the squad’ complained of coronavirus symptoms.

According to the Athletic, the situation developed on Wednesday night and a decision was made to cancel Thursday’s session early in the morning – before any players arrived.

As of Thursday lunchtime, the person in question had not been diagnosed with coronavirus but the situation has been described as a “major scare”.

It’s understood that the club’s training base is being thoroughly cleaned as a precautionary measure, with all members of staff – including head coach Frank Lampard – have been told to stay away.

Lampard’s pre-match press conference ahead of their weekend trip to Aston Villa, however, will take place at Cobham as normal.

This latest development follows coronavirus scares at fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Leicester.

Lampard addresses how Chelsea will make transfer..

…no movement now

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has admitted the team “lost ground” following their transfer ban and Eden Hazard’s departure last summer.

Lampard, speaking to the media after their 2-1 win at Hull in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday said the Blues now have to play catch up.

However, the former England midfielder revealed they are not close to sealing any deal at the moment. NobleSport learnt

“There’s no movement to speak of now.

“It’s clear that we got a punishment in the summer for right or for wrong where we couldn’t bring in players and the punishment is meant to hurt you.

“And we lost certainly one of our biggest players in our history for what he did for this club over the last six or seven years, whatever it is.

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard

“My job I suppose is to work everyday on the training ground, can we get better and to drive that. Then the other part is how do we move forward by bringing in players and we lost ground in the summer.

“So yeah, we’re trying to now, we need to now for the short term to push for this top four. I think it’s clear I have a strong feeling where we can improve personnel wise to take us going forward,” Lampard said

Lampard reveal who to buy after defeat

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has said he is looking to bring in attackers, following their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

The Blues wasted the chance to go clear in fourth place, as they lost thanks to Isaac Hayden’s late goal.

Chelsea could end the weekend nine points behind Leicester in third, if the Foxes beat Burnley on Sunday.

It was another frustrating afternoon for Frank Lampard’s men, who had 70% of the ball and 19 attempts, but could not score.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Lampard insisted he needs reinforcements this month, amid links to strikers Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele.

“If we are looking for people to bring in to the areas to win games when you are controlling it, it is scoring goals.

“We can’t work anymore in training on finishing. You need to have that killer instinct in front of goal.

“We need to score more goals from front-line areas if we are going to get to where we want to be.

“It’s quite clear from what I am saying now that we know where we need to strengthen but we shall see.

Chelsea Manager, Frank Lampard

“We know we have problems at the top of the pitch in terms of we don’t get enough goals.

“If you don’t score you are always liable for a sucker punch and they got it,” he said.

Marcos Alonso set for shocking transfer from Chelsea

Chelsea defender, Marcos Alonso could be set for a shock move away from Stamford Bridge to join Inter Milan in this January’s transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato.

Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte is desperate to strengthen his defensive options in the second half of the season and has identified Alonso as a target this month.

Conte coached Alonso during his time at Chelsea and the Spain international was one of his favourite’s defenders at the West London club.

The Italian is eager to reunite with the left-back at San Siro this window.

Alonso has fallen out of favour under Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard this season.

Marcos Alonso

Lampard has been left unimpressed by his options in Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

The Blues boss is looking to strengthen the left side of his defence in the January transfer window.

5 players Chelsea could sign by january.

…5 Players Chelsea Should Sign in the 2020 January window.

With the Blues now able to sign players once again in the upcoming transfer window, Frank Lampard will certainly have a few on his wish list come January.

Chelsea have endured a rather odd few weeks in the Premier League, beating Tottenham and Arsenal but also losing to Bournemouth, Everton and Southampton.

The struggles against the so-called ‘lesser’ teams in the league, have made the need for new players even more explicit heading into the January transfer window.

And here’s some of the players that could be on their way to Stamford Bridge.

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho
Rumours have been circulating Jadon Sancho’s return to England since the beginning of the season – with Chelsea seen as one of the favourites to snatch up the winger in January. Reports claim that the English youngster is unhappy with the treatment he has received at current club Borussia Dortmund, suggesting his desire to leave as early as the next window. Sancho would provide Chelsea with much more creativity in the final third – something which they have lacked against the likes of Southampton in recent weeks.

However, unsurprisingly, there is fierce competition for the young star, with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool keen to sign the English international. Sancho won’t be cheap, and reports claim that around £120m could be demanded for his services. Chelsea are arguably willing to spend big and if they are realistically able to sign the talented teenager, he could do wonders for the club.

Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell
Despite Frank Lampard’s desire to sign attacking players in the upcoming window, their defensive issues are the club’s biggest concern. Although the Blues have reported problems across the back line, their highest priority will be singing a new left back in January. Both Emerson and Marcos Alonso have failed to make an impact this season, with the latter likely to leave at the next given opportunity.

Ben Chilwell would be the perfect replacement, with the defender seen as one of the best left backs in the league. That being said, Lampard’s dreams of bringing the Leicester City man to Stamford Bridge could be highly unrealistic – at least for now. The 23-year-old is unlikely to leave the Foxes until the summer, following their current season under Brendan Rodgers.

Nathan Ake

nathan ake

If Chelsea are unable to sign the highly-regarded Ben Chilwell, they may have to look for defensive options elsewhere. Therefore, another January candidate could be Bournemouth’s defender Nathan Ake. The Dutch international enjoyed several loan spells while at the west London side, before making his move permanent to the Cherries in 2017.

Given Chelsea’s shaky defence, having a player who could display his abilities across the backline could come in handy for Lampard. With a buy-back clause of £40m, the 24-year-old looks like a more realistic and affordable options for the Blues.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner

As well as fixing their problems at the back, there is a strong need for strikers in West London as the transfer window looms. Although Tammy Abraham has proven his worth as Chelsea’s new number nine, there are a number of forwards expected to make their exit from Chelsea in January including Oliver Giroud and Michy Batshuayi. The Blues are therefore keen to sign RB Leipzig’s striker Timo Werner – and for good reason too.

The German has netted an impressive 18 goals in 17 games for his club this season and at Chelsea, he will have no problem getting his name of the scoresheet. Werner is also a target for other Premier League sides including Liverpool and Manchester United. However, the Blues are reportedly willing to pay his release cause of £27m after the striker signed a new deal with the German side in August.

Hakim Ziyech

Hakim Ziyech
After facing Ajax in the Champions League group stages this campaign, Chelsea have already bore witness to the incredible Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan international could be another option to help the Blues creatively and compared to Sancho, the 26-year-old would be a much affordable option for the side.

This season, Ziyech has already managed an astonishing 12 league assists with Ajax as well as netting six league goals since the beginning of the campaign. The creative streak Ziyech possesses would undoubtedly be a great asset to Chelsea.

Frank lampard Snr spotted kissing.

… secret mistress who bare him two children

Frank Lampard Snr, the father of Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard has been pictured planting a kiss on Janet Butler, the mistress he secretly fathered two children with years back.

The pair who secretly welcomed two kids Sophie and John during a long-term affair in the 1970s were recently spotted packing on the PDA as Frank Snr planted a sweet kiss on Janet.

Recall his son, Frank reportedly banned his dad, also called Frank, from seeing Janet Butler after the affair emerged 15 years ago. But it now seems the pair are still together as it has been claimed that Frank Snr is a regular visitor at her penthouse in Wanstead, East London.

The pair have also been seen holding hands and enjoying meals and drinks at a nearby restaurant as well as at his own pub, which is just a few minutes’ walks from her home.

Frank Lampard

When asked about Janet this week, Frank Snr said: “No, no, we’re friends… big friends… but, you know, that’s as far as it goes.

“I do kiss her when I say bye-bye to her, I’ve gotta be honest with you, yeah.

“I’ve known her from years ago… you know the story.

“I’ve got a pub near her and I see her around sometimes and do keep in touch with her.

“But, no, do me a favour! Not for me, mate!”

At that time, Frank Snr was having an affair with Janet behind the back of wife Pat, who died of pneumonia in 2008.

Frank Lampard

Frank Snr’s daughter Sophie was conceived just a couple of months after Frank Jr’s birth and her younger brother John five years later. He initially kept his name off Sophie and John’s birth certificates while they were growing up before he later added his name when they were re-registered in 1995.
