I made mistake marrying my husband – Mother of 2 plead divorce in court

A mother of two, Ariyike Adeyemi, has begged a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan for a dissolution of her marriage.

She told the court that she made a terrible mistake marrying her husband, Adekunle,12 years ago.

In her petition, Ariyike said: ”Adekunle beats me. I made a terrible mistake by marrying him 12 years ago, N.Rs learnt

” I have tolerated him and done my duties to make him happy. I have stopped living with him because of the constant beating.

”I pray the court to grant me custody of our first child who is a girl,” Ariyike said.

In his counter argument, the respondent consented to the suit and tendered many exhibits to substantiate his claims that his wife committed adultery.

“For many years, I have coped with the bitter pain of living with a cheat like Ariyike as a wife and mother of my two children.

“She doesn’t return home until very late in the night therefore, leaving the children and me hungry all the time.

“The children don’t even know her as their mother because they don’t see her in terms of motherly care.

“I have here many love messages or chats she had with her concubines even under my roof.

“It is even more irritating that Ariyike was praying that her relationship with her secret lover will last forever,” Adekunle tendered chats Ariyike had with alleged concubine.

Chief Ademola Odunade, the President of the court, told the parties to produce the children in court.

He then adjourned the case until March 9 for judgment.

Harvey Weinstein Guilty Of Sexual Assault

Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of sexual assault, capping a stunning downfall for the former Hollywood mogul and a victory for the #MeToo movement against harassment.

Weinstein, 67, was convicted in New York City of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act.

But he was cleared of the most serious count of predatory sexual assault. He faces up to 25 years in prison.

He still faces charges in Los Angeles of assaulting two women in 2013.

At least 80 women had accused him of sexual misconduct stretching back decades, including actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek.

The allegations were at the centre of the #MeToo movement that inspired women to go public with misconduct allegations against powerful men.

The movie executive once enjoyed phenomenal success with Oscar winners such Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, The King’s Speech and Shakespeare in Love.

What happened in the New York court?
The jury of seven men and five women reached their verdict on Monday morning, the fifth day of deliberations.

Weinstein – who denied all charges – was convicted of sexually assaulting former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006 and raping Jessica Mann, a former aspiring actress, in 2013.

How Harvey Weinstein faced his reckoning
The third-degree rape charge in New York is defined as engaging in sexual intercourse with a person who is incapable of consent, or under age 17, or who has not given consent for a reason other than the inability to consent.

But the jury acquitted him on two counts of predatory sexual assault, which carried a potential life sentence, and first-degree rape of Mann.

In the minutes after the verdict, Weinstein showed no emotion as he talked to his lead lawyer Donna Rotunno.

But the judge ordered him to be sent to jail immediately. He was surrounded by court officers, handcuffed and led from the courtroom. He will be sentenced on 11 March.

How the Harvey Weinstein scandal unfolded
Weinstein turned up before the verdict wearing a navy blue suit and leaning on a walking frame.

What were the allegations?
Ms Haleyi, who had worked on one of Weinstein’s television productions, said she was assaulted by the producer after he invited her to his Lower Manhattan home.

She testified that he backed her into a bedroom, held her down on the bed and forced himself on her.

Ms Mann said that she found herself in an “extremely degrading” relationship with him that did not involve intercourse until he raped her in a New York City hotel room in 2013.

Sciorra said Weinstein, on another occasion, showed up to her Cannes hotel room with baby oil
She said he was a “Jekyll and Hyde” figure who could be charming in public but showed his dark side when they were alone.

Another one of Weinstein’s accusers, Sopranos actress Annabella Sciorra, told jurors he raped her in her apartment one night in the mid-1990s.

Weinstein accuser: ‘No’ was a trigger for him
Her allegation was too old to be charged as a separate crime, but prosecutors used it in an attempt to demonstrate that the accused was a repeat sexual offender.

As part of prosecutors’ efforts to show a pattern of predatory behaviour, three other women testified they were lured to apparent work meetings with Weinstein, then sexually assaulted.

How did the trial play out?
During the trial, prosecutors portrayed Weinstein as a serial predator who had used his position of power in Hollywood to manipulate and violently attack women.

Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Meghan Hast said during opening arguments: “The man seated right there was not just a titan in Hollywood, he was a rapist.”

But the defence team said the accusers had had consensual sex with the movie executive to advance their careers, and the allegations amounted to “regret renamed as rape”.

Media captionHired by Weinstein to extract information on celebrities
They pointed out that two of the accusers had kept in contact with Weinstein, exchanged flirty emails with him and had sex with him after he had attacked them.

Weinstein’s lawyer, Donna Rotunno, told jurors in closing arguments they were “the last line of defence” against an “overzealous” prosecution.

How did we get here?
Weinstein was once one of the most powerful figures in Hollywood, with dozens of Academy Award wins for his films.

Allegations started to emerge about him in October 2017. The story was broken by the New York Times, which published details of decades of alleged incidents of harassment.

Weinstein issued an apology acknowledging he had “caused a lot of pain”, but disputed the allegations.

Over the following weeks, dozens more allegations emerged and Weinstein was sacked by the board of his company.

Despite continuing to deny all allegations of non-consensual sex, he was all but banished from Hollywood.

Allegations against him helped drive the #MeToo campaign against sexual misconduct, where victims shared their experiences of assault and harassment.

Some criminal investigations were launched but he was not charged until May 2018, when he turned himself in to police in New York.

What will happen now?
Weinstein lawyer Ms Rotunno said they will be appealing against the conviction “immediately”.

Weinstein still has to face charges in Los Angeles, which were announced on the first day he appeared in court in New York.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said the charges relate to the alleged rape of one woman and sexual assault of another over two days in 2013.

District Attorney Jackie Lacey, when announcing the charges, said other cases were also still under review.

Further investigations into Weinstein’s conduct are still possible, while there are also ongoing civil complaints against him too.

In December 2019, lawyers said they had agreed a tentative deal with some accusers, which would pay out $25m (£19m) to nearly 30 actresses and ex-employees.

What’s the reaction?
“The fight is not over,” Ms Rotunno told reporters outside the courthouse. “Harvey is very strong. Harvey is unbelievably strong. He took it like a man and he knows we will continue to fight for him and he knows that this is not over.”

She said her client was disappointed, but “mentally tough”.

Actress Asia Argento, who was one of the first to speak out about Weinstein, said in an Instagram post: “Harvey Weinstein is now a convicted rapist. Two survivors cry and celebrate. Thank you God. Thank you to all the brave women.”

Tina Tchen, president of the Time’s Up Foundation – an initiative launched in the wake of the Weinstein allegations to combat sexual harassment in the film industry – said in a statement that the trial “marks a new era of justice”.

Ghen Ghen: Cardi B sued for assaulting security guard

Cardi B is being sued by a female security guard who claims she assaulted her, but Cardi says otherwise.

The woman, named Emani Ellis, filed suit against the rapper on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

According to the lawsuit, Ellis was working in a Beverly Hills medical building on Feb. 24, 2018 when the incident occurred.

In the documents obtained by NobleReporters, Ellis alleges Cardi struck her in the head, face, and body while Cardi was exiting the building. Ellis also claims Cardi spit on her and used profanities and racial slurs.

Cardi had just left a doctor’s appointment when the guard approached her trying to record video or take photos of her. Cardi, who had yet to reveal her pregnancy, asked her to stop because she didn’t want to be recorded. She would have been about four months pregnant with her daughter Kulture at the time.

That’s when the security guard became upset and an argument ensued. A building staffer reportedly tried to break up their fight, but claims things never got physical and there were no racial slurs.

Ellis alleges that Cardi “then used her celebrity status to get her fired from her job as a security guard.” However, a rep for the medical building says that Cardi’s doctor and patient coordinator were the ones who called for Ellis’ firing because they felt she had violated Cardi’s privacy.

Ellis is suing Cardi for assault, battery, and infliction of emotional distress.

C & S pastor in UK jailed for several rape cases and sexual abuses (Video)

...15 counts of rape

…24 counts of child sexual abuses and rapes

…3 counts of aiding and abeting rape

Michael Oluronbi, a Cherubim and Seraphim pastor based in Birmingham, in the UK was convicted Tuesday of 24 counts of child sexual abuse and rapes. Specifically, he was found guilty of 15 counts of rape, seven counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault

Sixty year-old Oluronbi, was leader of the religious group when he committed the vile crimes. His wife,Juliana Oluronbi, age 58, was also convicted of three counts of aiding and abetting rape.

Five of the seven victims are siblings who were abused at their home address where the church conducted services. All victims were abused from a young age under the guise of it being religious practice. They fell under the malign influence and authority the defendants held, and honestly believed their actions were on God’s behalf.

The prosecution case was that Mr Oluronbi used what he called ‘spiritual work’ as subterfuge for sexual abuse. The main tactic he employed was to claim that God had instructed him to administer ‘Holy Baths’ to some of his congregation in order to ‘cleanse’ them and protect them from evil influences. The CPS used CCTV, mobile phone material, photographs, forensic evidence, and witness statements to build the prosecution case.

Oluronbi’s C&S vestments used while administering holy baths

Juliana Oluronbi was unwavering in her support for her husband and the case against her is based on the lengths to which she was prepared to go to support him and keep him in his position. We proved she not only knew what Michael Oluronbi was doing but that her actions (particularly in arranging abortions) effectively aided and abetted the continued, systematic rapes of three victims.

Georgina Hewins, from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “This case involved the serious and sustained sexual abuse of vulnerable young children by a religious leader. The young age of the victims greatly increases the seriousness of the offences.

“As a result of the hard work and diligence of the prosecution team, and the strength of the evidence, the two defendants were found guilty after trial.

“It is only due to the great courage of the victims that this abuse was brought to light, and the full extent of the despicable and lawless behaviour of these people revealed.”

21 year old Lesbian jailed after disguising as 16 year old boy to sexually assault teenage girls

21-year-old Gemma Watts is currently facing jail time after posing as a boy to sexually assault up to 50 girls as young as 14 after grooming them online.

The lesbian who pleaded guilty to seven charges relating to four victims aged 14 and 15 in November 2019, created an online profile as 16-year-old Jake Waton. Her Snapchat and Instagram accounts were used in targeting girls aged 14-16 by liking their profiles.

Watts who would share skateboarding videos, use teenage slang and flatter the girls with complimentary messages, tied her long hair into a bun and wore a baseball cap, baggy jogging bottoms and a hoodie to convince the underage girls that her male alter ego is “real”.

Her victims all believed they were in a relationship with a teenage boy who travelled by train to meet them, until her real identity was busted. She also met the parents of some of her victims and had conversations with them

Detective Constable Phillipa Kenwright, from the Metropolitan Police, said;

“It’s been life-changing for all of the victims involved. They believed they were in a relationship with a young teenage boy, to then find out this was actually a female.

“For some of these girls it was their first relationship… She’s duped them the whole time.

“A lot of these victims are young, quite innocent. They have been completely taken in by Gemma Watts. They all believed they were in a relationship with a male.

“I think there will be further victims, who were in a relationship with Watts, who will now realise she is a woman.

“I think there could be 20 to 50. I think she had been grooming other young victims online using social media profiles, which are very believable.”

Investigations into the sexual assault case began in 2018 after a doctor raised concerns of an underage girl being in a relationship with an older boy. She was finally charged in September 2019 and she pleaded guilty to seven offences in November which include: Assault by penetration, sexual assault and grooming against 14-year-old girl from Hampshire; sexual assault and grooming against a 15-year-old girl from Surrey; grooming a 15-year-old girl from Plymouth; sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl from the West Midlands.

Hollywood film producer, Harvey Weinstein charged for rape

...plus sexual assault with another woman

Disgraced Hollywood film producer, Harvey Weinstein has been charged in Los Angeles with raping one woman and sexually assaulting another in separate incidents over a two-day period in 2013.

The 67-year-old now faces new felony charges of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by use of force and sexual battery by restraint, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement.

“We believe the evidence will show that the defendant used his power and influence to gain access to his victims and then commit violent crimes against them,” Lacey said.

The charges came hours after Weinstein appeared in a New York court for the start of his criminal trial on similar charges in a separate case and after his attorney, Donna Rotunna said any new charges would be “highly prejudicial” to a jury in the New York case.

According to the criminal complaint, Weinstein and a woman attended a Hollywood film festival on February 17, 2013, and later that night, he knocked on her hotel room door and was allowed entry into her room. Once inside, they talked briefly before he allegedly attacked the woman, forced her to perform oral sex on him, digitally penetrated her vagina and raped her, the complaint says.

She said that she did not disclose the assault because he threatened her life if she spoke, the complaint says. The charges of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual penetration by use relate to that incident.

On February 19, Weinstein met with a woman and her acquaintance for a business meeting at a hotel eatery in West Los Angeles, the complaint says. Weinstein persuaded the two to accompany him to his hotel suite, and one woman unwittingly followed him into the bathroom, the complaint says.

He allegedly took off his clothes and prevented her from leaving, and then he held her in place by her breast as he masturbated, the complaint says. He faces a charge of felony sexual battery by restraint for that incident, Lacey said.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of “nonconsensual sexual activity” related to the New York case and other claims made against him.

Weinstein’s career collapsed in October 2018, after numerous accusations of sexual harassment and assault were leveled against him.

Since then more than 80 women including young female assistants and actresses have come forward to accuse him of various sexual harassment and assaults.

Just in – Man arrested for sleeping with widow woman and 2 daughters out of deception

A randy artisan identified as Monsuru Adesiyan a.k.a. Oba Idan told Olanike Ali, has been apprehended after deceiving a widow and her two daughters into sleeping with him.

Adesiyan lured the widow into the sacriledgous affair with claims of sleeping with her and her two daughters as the only remedy to avert a looming spiritual attack on her family.

The widow and Adesiyan reportedly began having issues after he continued sleeping with her 19-year-old and 13-year-old daughters, after initially claiming that the ritual which involves cleaning their private parts with a white cloth for a propitiation at a deity’s groove was for a short while.

The leadership of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC) at Iju Station area of Lagos where they live intervened when their issue degenerated into an altercation.

Fakorede Oluifa, a chieftain of OPC in the community said;

“Four days ago, I met the couple (Olanike and Adesiyan) fighting. It was such a big fight and the woman’s daughters from another marriage were crying. She opened up to me that her new ‘husband’ had been sleeping with her two daughters on the pretext that he wanted to fortify them against evil and help cure her only son of his mysterious illness.

“We wanted to apprehend Monsuru (Adesiyan), but he ran away from home. However, yesterday, he neaked into the house and wanted to take the girls away so they would not reveal to us how he had been violating them and subjecting them to sacrilegious sexual intercourse.

“We, however, intercepted him and he opened up on how he had been sleeping with the two girls and wiping their private parts with a white cloth for evil purposes.”

Confessing to the sad act, Adesiyan said he believed sleeping with the girls with the consent of their mother was the only solution to her son’s illness.

He said;

“My name is Monsuru Adesiyan. I am a mechanic by profession and a native of Akufo village in Ibadan, Oyo State. I have two children, a boy and a girl, with my former wife who died some years ago. I started dating this woman (Olanike) about six months ago and we live at Crossing area of Agbado (Lagos).

“Her only son, named Mathew, was sick and I consulted one of my brothers, Fabunmi, who is a herbalist, and he said the solution to the boy’s mysterious illness was for me to sleep with his older sisters, Morenikeji and Opeyemi, for seven days.

“My brother said that I would have to wipe the girls’ private parts with a white cloth which I must bring before a deity for propitiation.

“I have since been sleeping with the girls with the consent of their mother (who is also pregnant for him). I discouraged their mother from taking them to their father’s funeral by telling her that they would be attacked by evil people who are members of their father’s family.’’

On if he will be happy if anyone defiled his daughter same way he violated the girls and their mother, he said;

‘’I won’t be happy if anyone violates my eight-year-old daughter.’’

On their own part, 13-year-old Morenikeji and her 19-year-old sister Opeyemi said they initially refused sleeping with Adesiyan but yielded to it after their mother said it was the only solution to their brother’s ill-health.

Opeyemi said;

“I used to be a teacher in a private school in Ibadan, Oyo State. I was living with my late father’s younger brother.

“Suddenly, my mother visited me and told me that a member of my father’s family was using my glory and disturbing my siblings spiritually. She told me that I might run mad if certain atonement involving spiritual cleansing was not done for me.

“She said the spiritual cleansing would involve Monsuru (Adesiyan) sleeping with me. I was shocked that she could yield to such a distasteful arrangement. I was reluctant about it but my mother continued to persuade me until I gave in to Monsuru. My mother said he would sleep with me for four days only for Monsuru to change the timing to one week. He has slept with me for two weeks now. He made love to me and my sister every day until the situation became unbearable and I cried out and threatened to return to Ibadan.

“It was in the midst of the altercations that OPC operatives got to know that Monsuru had been having an affair with us, against our wish.’’

Morenikeji said;

“Monsuru has already impregnated our mother. I am 13 years old and was a virgin until he forcibly made love to me.

“He had accompanied my mother to where my younger brother, Mathew, was receiving treatment for prolonged cough.

“He told my mother that my brother’s illness was beyond the ordinary, noting that my late father’s relations were behind it.

“By then, my father was receiving treatment for swollen legs which later led to his death. He moved in with my mother at my father’s house in Fagba area of Iju Station, a Lagos suburb, and said the only solution to my brother’s sickness was for him to sleep with me and my elder sister. He used our mother to lure us into the plan and said he would have sex with me for just three days but later changed it to one month. He was making love to me morning, afternoon and night. We want Nigerians to save us from him o.’’

The mother of the two girls who admitted being pregnant for the Lagos-based auto mechanic, said she was deceived into believing that certain people were after her and her children.

She said;

“Monsuru (Adesiyan) said his brother, a herbalist, told him to make love to my daughters as a solution to my son’s sickness, and to prevent those responsible for my husband’s death from attacking my children and I.

“I asked him to allow me to speak with his brother on the telephone but he refused. He tricked me into believing that my little son’s blood had been sucked dry by unseen evil forces and that making love to my daughters would heal my son, hence, I reluctantly agreed. He said he would wipe my daughters’ private part with a white cloth that he would subsequently take to a shrine for atonement. I reluctantly agreed because he said my son would die if I refused to approve of his intervention. He said that I would also vomit blood and die if I told anyone about him having sex with my daughters.

‘’We started dating shortly after my husband died in July (2019) and he discouraged me from taking my children to my husband’s funeral. He said that some persons behind my husband’s death would attack me at the funeral.’’

OPC authorities in the community said the randy artisan will be taken to the Red Brick Police Division in Iju.

Pope Francis apologizes after slapping woman.

Pope Francis has apologised for smacking the hand of a female well-wisher who grabbed him and yanked him toward her.

The leader of over one billion Roman catholics said he had lost his patience and set a “bad example”.

His unusual apology came after he used his first homily of the new year to denounce violence against women, which he compared to profaning God.

Pope Francis, 83, had a sharp encounter with a woman on Tuesday evening during a walkabout in St. Peters Square.

The pilgrim, who has not been identified, unexpectedly seized his hand and pulled him towards her, causing him evident alarm. A clearly disgruntled Francis wrenched himself free by slapping down at her arm.

“So many times we lose patience, even me, and I apologise for yesterday’s bad example,” the pope told thousands of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday at the end of the traditional New Year Mass.

He had used the service to issue a forthright condemnation of the abuse of women in modern society.

“All violence inflicted on women is a desecration of God,” he told a packed St. Peter’s Basilica.

“How often is a woman’s body sacrificed on the profane altar of advertising, profit, pornography,” he said, adding that the female body “must be freed from consumerism, it must be respected and honoured”.

Despite creating life, women “are continually offended, beaten, raped, forced into prostitution” and made to have abortions, he said. “We can understand our level of humanity by the way we treat a woman’s body,” he told the congregation.

During his homily, Francis also addressed another theme close to his heart, immigration, saying women who moved abroad to provide for their children should be honoured, not scorned.

“Today even motherhood is humiliated, because the only growth that interests us is economic growth,” he said.

“There are mothers, who risk perilous journeys to desperately try to give the fruit of the womb a better future and are judged to be redundant by people whose bellies are full of things, but whose hearts are empty of love.”

Pope Francis

The leader of the Roman Catholic Church, which allows only unmarried men to be ordained as priests, also said women “must be fully involved in decision-making processes”.

The pope said last April the Church had to acknowledge a history of male domination and sexual abuse of women. A month later, he appointed for the first time four women to an important Vatican department that prepares the major meetings of world bishops.

The club owner soon physically assaulted Omagbibe and put her in grave danger.

The witness said, “However, all explanations fell on deaf ears as her boss mercilessly threw punches and slaps at her, causing bodily harm on Precious.

“He forcefully dragged Precious into his car after beating her mercilessly, drove her to the police station and laid a report against her.

Gwamnishu said, “Nigeria is currently facing a huge reputation deficit and the entire world is watching to see what will become of us.

“Our choices and actions must mirror that of a serious nation that abhor and punish crimes, whose laws respect no persons nor status. We will ensure the victim gets justice.”

Spokesperson for the police in Delta, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, could not be reached for comments as her mobile phone rang out when our correspondent contacted her.

NAN exonerate Fayemi’s wife over FUOYE killings.

…give ‘stay away’ order

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has exonerated wife of Ekiti Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi of involvement in the recent killings of two students of Federal University, Oye Ekiti.

The students’ body also lifted an order warning Governor Kayode Fayemi and his wife to stay away from all the tertiary institutions in the country.

Two FUOYE students, Joseph Okonofua and Kehinde Dada were on September 10 allegedly shot dead during a protest that coincided with the visit of Mrs. Fayemi to Oye Ekiti, which led to confrontation between the First Lady’s security details and students.

Another missile test done! – North Korea dares Trump.

…come ahead of a year-end deadline

North Korea has confirmed that it conducted another test at a satellite launch site on Friday, December 13th to bolster its strategic nuclear deterrence.

According to North Korean state media outlet KCNA, the test was conducted at the Sohae satellite launch site, citing a spokesman for North Korea’s Academy of Defence Science, without specifying what sort of testing occurred.

It was the second such test at the facility in a week. KCNA on Sunday said that North Korea had carried out a “very important” test on December 7th at the Sohae satellite launch site, a rocket-testing facility that U.S. officials once said North Korea had promised to close.

The reported tests come ahead of a year-end deadline North Korea has put forth for the United States to drop its insistence on unilateral denuclearisation.

Pyongyang has warned it could take a “new path” amid the stalled talks with the United States. The top U.S envoy for North Korea is set to arrive in Seoul on Sunday for meetings with South Korean officials.

North Korea dares President Trump, says it has conducted another

Analysts said such tests could help North Korea build more reliable intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

Tension has been rising in recent weeks as Pyongyang has conducted weapons tests and waged a war of words with U.S. President Donald Trump, stoking fears that tensions between the two countries could return. Stephen Biegun, U.S. special envoy for North Korea, will arrive in South Korea on Sunday, Seoul and Washington said on Friday.
