Barcelona wants Sergio Aguero.

That could force Man City into action, with the forward still waiting to see whether his current club will offer him an extended deal beyond this season.

Barcelona want to sign Manchester City star Sergio Aguero on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old has spent the past nine and a half years in the Premier League with the Citizens, but with only six months remaining on his current contract, he is now able to negotiate a move away from the Etihad for free.

And one of the clubs interested in landing his signature in the summer is Barcelona. According to The Sun, the Catalan giants are keen to bring Aguero back to La Liga, and could make a move in January to secure his services for six months time.

La Blaugrana may have some competition to fend off, however, with Mauricio Pochettino and Paris Saint-Germain also rumoured to be interested in signing the striker.

A move to Barcelona would give Aguero the chance to play in Spain once more after he spent five years at rivals Atletico Madrid at the start of his career.

His clinical displays led Man City to pay £35m to sign the Argentine in 2011, and he has gone on to be one of the club’s best ever pieces of business.

He is now the all-time leading goalscorer for the Citizens, and his goals have fired them to four Premier League titles, and a host of domestic trophies.

Aguero is undoubtedly a club legend, but whether that is enough for Man City to extend his stay remains to be seen.

The former Atleti man has struggled with a series of fitness issues this year, restricting him into making only five league appearances, and he has failed to find the back of the net in any of his outings.

His misfortune has continued into 2021, as he will miss the home clash with Brighton on Wednesday, having come into close contact with a coronavirus carrier. He will now be forced to self-isolate for just over a week.

Agüero shuns Fans: Messi won’t come Mancity

Sergio Aguero has had to take evasive action to stop the spreading of rumours about Lionel Messi joining Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s team are set to be leading the chase for the Argentine, who handed in a transfer request at Barcelona last week.

According to the English press, Aguero has decided to mute the words ‘Messi’, ‘Leo’ and ‘GOAT’ from the chats on his Twitch streams.

Beforehand, the City striker was being bombarded with questions about the prospect of his compatriot and good friend joining him at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola hints stunner: Agüero will play against Madrid

Pep Guardiola has given his clearest indication yet that Sergio Aguero will be ready for Manchester City’s assault on the Champions League.

Aguero is currently working overtime to prove his fitness after suffering a knee injury last month, with a return for the last 16 second leg against Real Madrid in a fortnight considered unlikely.

The Argentine is undergoing rehabilitation on his left knee three times a day and Guardiola indicated that his entire squad will be available come the game at the Etihad Stadium on August 7.

‘I think against Madrid everyone will be fit apart from (Benjamin) Mendy, who is suspended,’ Guardiola said. ‘So in the training sessions everyone will be fit and we’ll go for the senior guys for this game.’

Counting on Aguero from the bench would serve as a major boost to City, who head into the game with a one-goal lead from the Bernabeu in February.

Guardiola afforded his players two days off this week before they ramp up preparation for Madrid and could see his team become only the fifth in Premier League history to score 100 goals in a season on Sunday.

They end the campaign against depleted, and already relegated, Norwich City.

City – who currently have 97 goals – have twice reached the landmark before, during a record-breaking title romp three years ago and under Manuel Pellegrini in 2014. Liverpool also hit a ton that year, while Chelsea scored 103 a decade ago.

Reaching the milestone will be scant consolation for City after surrendering their crown but could act as a send-off for David Silva, who is due to play his final league fixture.

‘It’s nice to score goals, the way a team can show, but it’s not been enough (this year),’ Guardiola added. ‘A lot of goals but we are 18 points behind Liverpool. Every game there (has to be) a target, desire to win the game and scoring 100 goals is one of the reasons why.

‘And also to see if the players are ready. The way they play against Norwich and the way they train. I will be paying attention for how they play before Madrid. Every day will be an exam for me to see if they are ready to play this game.

‘Against Arsenal we were not ready (for Madrid). Watford was a little bit better but still we need to improve.’

‘Go see the Physio’ Messi slams Agüero

Sergio Aguero is currently injured and had an appointment with his physiotherapist, but he then appeared on Twitch at the exact time when he was supposed to be receiving treatment.

Lionel Messi, who knew Aguero had this appointment, messaged his international teammate.

Aguero read out Messi’s WhatsApp message live on air.

“Stop messing around and go see the physio,” Messi had told Aguero.

Aguero then explained that he was going to receive treatment, but that the physiotherapist was running late.

Aguero to miss Real Madrid Vs Mancity’s Clash

Sergio Agüero underwent surgery last month to repair torn meniscus and will not recover in time to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Manchester City will be without forward Sergio Agüero when they welcome Real Madrid to the Etihad next month to resolve their Champions League Last 16 tie. Agüero, who underwent surgery last month to repair torn meniscus in his left knee, will not recover in time for the return leg in Manchester on Friday 7 August. City go into the game with a 1-2 lead from the first leg back in February before football was put on hold by the coronavirus crisis.

No advantage for City, says Guardiola
Agüero’s absence was confirmed this afternoon by City manager Pep Guardiola, who also gave his reaction to this afternoon’s Champions League quarter final draw in Nyon. Guardiola rejected the idea that his side set out as favourites to advance, telling reporters, “We played the first leg in Madrid and we will play the return at home, it’s a normal situation and it won’t put us at an advantage. Ties are always decided over two legs, home and away. If we start thinking about the next round now, then the kings of the competition (Real Madrid) will kick us out”.

Guardiola fears this might be Agüero’s last season

Manchester City’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero could be out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury during Monday’s 5-0 Premier League win over Burnley at The Etihad.

“It doesn’t look good. We are going to see tomorrow. He was struggling in the last month with a problem in the knee. We will see what he has done but it doesn’t look good for the season,” said Guardiola.

Aguero went down under a challenge from defender Ben Mee on the stroke of halftime with the Burnley captain ruled by VAR to have made contact with his foot.

The Argentine limped off to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus, the club’s only other recognised central striker.

While second-placed City have next to no chance of catching leaders Liverpool, who have a 20-point lead with eight games remaining, the absence of Aguero will be a blow to Guardiola’s Champions League hopes.

City lead 2-1 against Real Madrid from the away leg of their last 16 match and are hoping to reach August’s ‘Final Eight’ of the competition in Lisbon.

See what Kün aguero Says over players fear of coronavirus

Sergio Aguero has become the most high-profile footballer to raise misgivings over the Premier League’s potential hastened return.

The Manchester City striker admitted health concerns are at the forefront of minds among squads set to restart training next month despite the death toll from coronavirus staying high.

Clubs are working towards resuming training on May 11, with a stronger picture set to emerge from talks on Friday. Aguero made it clear that players hold reservations.

‘The majority of players are scared because they have family, they have children, they have babies, parents,’ he said.

‘When we go back, I imagine that we will be very tense, we will be very careful, and the moment someone feels ill, you will think: “What’s gone on there?” I hope there is a vaccine so all this ends.

‘It does scare me but I have just been here with my girlfriend. I haven’t had contact with other people.

‘They say that there are people who have it but who don’t have symptoms and they can infect you.

‘That’s why I’ve stayed at home. You can be infected and you don’t know anything about it.’

Aguero has remained in Manchester during lockdown, although a number of his team-mates are still abroad. Premier League stars have been asked to consider flying back in the event of a quick return.

UEFA also looking at completing the current Champions League campaign later this summer, with City holding a 2-1 advantage over Real Madrid in the last 16.

‘Fifteen days ago, we were told about a return date [to training] and that was May 4,’ Aguero added. ‘Now there is a new meeting. It will be difficult to play the Champions League in August.’

Aguero agrees with Man City fans’ theory over constant awards snub

Sergio Aguero says the fact he plays for Manchester City is one reason behind his lack of individual awards throughout his brilliant career.

Aguero is City’s all-time record goalscorer, winning 16 trophies for Atletico Madrid and City. In the Premier League, he has scored at least 20 goals in six of his eight seasons in England. This season, before the campaign was suspended, Aguero was on 16 goals from 22 appearances.

However, despite Aguero’s influence in front of goal that has helped City to domestic dominance, the 31-year-old is always overlooked for the end-of-season individual honours handed out to players.

Incredibly, Aguero has only been named in two PFA teams of the year – something fans are adamant is because he plays for City and his consistent output is taken for granted.

Now, Aguero has commented on the debate, saying that playing for City has counted against him when it comes to the big awards from the PFA trophy to the Ballon d’Or.

Aguero also pointed to his failure to win the Champions League as a contributing factor as he told TyC: “Every player wants to win the Ballon d’Or, but the Champions League has a lot to do with it.

“My best year, last year, we won four titles but we had no luck there.

“I was not nominated even in the first ten and that’s because you need more there. I think I am there, but not because I say so but because of the years I had in City and the numbers.

“As much as you play 85 minutes well, if you do a bad one you stay out.”

Manchester City Considering Erling Haaland As Long Time Replacement For Kün Agüero

Manchester City are considering Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as a long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Agüero.

The Argentine recently became the highest-scoring foreign player in Premier League history, and City are eager to reward the 31-year-old’s years of loyal service by granting him complete freedom over his future.

Henry, Alan’s Record: Sergio Aguero reacts to breaking

Sergio Aguero reflected with pride as he broke two more goal-scoring records to further cement his place as a Premier League legend.

The Argentine hit a hat-trick in the 6-1 demolition of Aston Villa to beat Thiery Henry to the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League history.

Aguero also set the record for the most trebles in the competition’s history to surpass Alan Shearer’s record.

Aguero said the level of competition in England makes this latest achievement all the more pleasing.

“I’m very happy because it’s not easy to score 12 hat-tricks in the Premier League,” he said.

“I’m very proud, because it’s so difficult.”

Aguero also paid tribute to the service he receives from his team-mates and Pep Guardiola.

Agüero Leads EPL’s Top Scorer Of The Decade.

Finishes 2010s With 38 Goals More Than Anyone Else After Strike Against 32nd opponent.

We’re all in agreement that Sergio Agüero is an outstanding striker. You don’t score 174 goals in just 254 Premier League appearances unless you really are one of the world’s top talents.

The Manchester City man bagged the latest of his strikes in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United, the first time he has ever come up against the Blades.

As noted by Opta, that was the 32nd different team against which Agüero has scored in the Premier League, which is made even more impressive when you realise he has only faced 33 sides in the competition.

The only team who managed to keep Agüero out was Bolton Wanderers, who stopped the Argentine from scoring back in August 2011 – his only meeting with Bolton in English football.

Interestingly enough, Agüero also failed to score against Bolton during his time with Atlético Madrid. The two sides met in tn February 2008, but Agüero managed just 14 minutes before being shown a red card as Bolton picked up a 1-0 win.

Sergio Aguero,Fabrice Muamba,Paul Robinson
With Bolton currently rooted to the bottom of League One, Agüero is likely never going to have the chance to address the only blemish on his otherwise perfect record.

Fortunately, that probably isn’t going to bother him. After all, his tally of 174 goals during the 2010s is by far the highest tally of any player in the Premier League during the last decade.

The City man finished 38 goals ahead of the competition, with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane second on 136.

Agüero will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history, and with numbers like that it is hard to doubt such claims.

Since joining the club back in 2011, Agüero’s goals have fired City to four Premier League titles, as well as four League Cups and last season’s FA Cup. He has undoubtedly been vital to the Citizens, and he shows no signs of slowing down just yet.

Gabriel jesus decides to finally remove Agüero as man city’s main striker.

Gabriel Jesus has said that he wants to permanently oust Sergio Aguero from Manchester City’s starting lineup and become their main striker going forward.

Injuries and fitness concerns have limited Aguero’s playing time so far this season, with Jesus making 15 appearances for City this campaign.

Gabriel Jesus
Speaking to The Sun, Jesus revealed that he’s intent on keeping the striker’s spot for himself.

“In the first season when I came, I played a lot. I came here to play, play, play,” he said. “After that year sometimes it was him and not me. I know Sergio is a legend, top scorer of club, top man, top guy. I like him as a player and a person.

“I know Sergio can score every game because of his quality and experience — and every time he plays I want him to score, obviously, so I wait and I wait.

“I want to play every game but the reality is not like that. We have a lot of players, top players. I do try to enjoy it when I am on the pitch.

“But I know Sergio is not young any more like me, and now I think my time has come. This is my time

“I just want to play football and to improve. That’s what makes me happy — that’s what I love.

If I am not playing football I don’t know what I would do.

“It’s always difficult when you don’t play but I know I won’t be in every time, and I respect the manager’s decision and respect my friend Sergio because he’s a legend of the club.

“And I definitely don’t think about being the best in the world, I just want to play and score and then the rest comes anyway.”

Gabriel Jesus,Sergio Aguero
While a rivalry may exist and Jesus’ intentions have been clearly outlined, the relationship between the pair remains friendly.

“Sergio has helped me so much, not just in the conversations we have but with his actions in training.

“When I am going to play he talks to me a lot about the game, about openings, about defenders and keepers. We have a very good relationship.”

Injured S. Aguero To Rest For A Week After Match Against Chelsea..

Manchester City are expected to be without striker Sergio Aguero for “a few weeks”, according to boss Pep Guardiola.

The Argentine sustained the injury during Saturday’s 2-1 win against Chelsea, with Guardiola unclear as to the exact nature of the problem.

In his press conference to preview Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, Guardiola said: “Sergio will be out for a few games, a few weeks. I don’t know exactly.

“(The injury) is at the front.”

Gabriel Jesus can expect to feature more prominently in Aguero’s absence, and he said: “I am not happy Sergio is injured.

“I don’t like it when my friends are injured, but every day I work hard and I am ready.”

Manchester City will be through to the knockout phase of the Champions League if they avoid defeat against Shakhtar or if Dinamo Zagreb do not beat Atalanta.

City will be confirmed in top spot if they win, or if they draw and Dinamo do not win.

Guardiola said: “The position we have is good but we have not qualified yet. Tomorrow is a chance.”
