6 Players Inter could sign this January

Whisper it quietly, but we may actually have a title race on our hands in Serie A this season.

Antonio Conte has instilled a winning mentality within his Inter team this year, and his players find themselves neck-and-neck with Juventus at the midpoint stage of the season. With I Bianconeri adapting to life after Massimiliano Allegri and learning the values of Maurizio Sarri, the Milan club may never be presented with a better opportunity to snatch the league trophy from their rivals’ clutches.

Antonio Conte
But Juve are not the sort of side to lie down and simply hand over their throne, especially when there is the possibility of a staggering ten consecutive league titles.

Sarri’s men will undoubtedly come roaring back in 2020, and it is guaranteed to be one of the greatest title races that Italy has witnessed in years. With plenty at stake, there can only be one solution in January: spend, spend, spend.

But who should Antonio and Co be aiming to recruit this winter? 90min takes a look at six possible signings that can help Inter to dethrone the Old Lady.

Federico Chiesa

One of the most exciting but frustrating talents in Italian football, Federico Chiesa has been on Inter’s radar for a number of transfer windows. Until now, I Nerazzurri have been unsuccessful in their attempts to buy the pacy and versatile forward. Chiesa can play anywhere across the front line, which would be an invaluable asset to Conte’s attack.

Federico Chiesa
Fiorentina have flattered to deceive over the last two seasons, and their young team is failing to live up to the expectations thrust upon them. Chiesa is the crown jewel in la Viola’s side, but he may finally have outgrown his restrictive surroundings. The 22-year-old continues to blow hot and cold for the Tuscan side, but with the right teammates around him, Chiesa could certainly fulfil his explosive potential.

Arturo Vidal

Now this link has already been well-documented, but it is worth noting. Arturo Vidal is the ultimate midfielder who you’d want in your team – purely so you are not forced to face him at some point. The Chilean is also the perfect man to lead a Conte side into battle.

Arturo Vidal
The former Juve warrior is a steely character, and his influence both on and off the field must not be underestimated, particularly within a group of inexperienced players in the midst of an intense title race. Vidal’s time at Barcelona appears to be coming to a close, and with Inter setting themselves up for a possibly historic success, the 32-year-old could be a vital addition to the Nerazzurri squad.

Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo broke Inter hearts back in 2018 when he chose not to extend his loan spell at San Siro – making the unforgivable switch to Turin instead, where he bagged a league title with Juve. Well, we say ‘unforgivable’, but a return to I Nerazzurri may bridge that ever-widening chasm.

João Cancelo
Cancelo won the hearts of the supporters in black and blue with his determined and dynamic displays during his year-long loan at Inter, and his career has gone from strength to strength from that moment. The Portuguese star has struggled to work his way into Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side however, and his future at the Etihad Stadium is in doubt.

Conte has struggled to settle on an ideal candidate for his right wing-back role, and a move for Cancelo would definitely fix that. The big question is – are Inter supporters the ‘forgive and forget’ type? Mauro Icardi would tell you otherwise. Well. Wanda would, at least.

Luke Shaw

Conte has revitalised the career of Romelu Lukaku since his limp final season at Manchester United, and the Italian even got Alexis Sanchez firing – temporarily. But it appears that the common denominator for failure may actually be Old Trafford, and not the players themselves. With that in mind, who better to maximise the potential of left-back Luke Shaw, whose rapid rise to the top of football has come to an abrupt and career-threatening standstill.

Luke Shaw
Inter are lacking genuine quality in the full-back areas, and given that Shaw has always shone when flying forward, he would suit Conte’s wing-back system wonderfully. With the former Southampton star rooted to the Man Utd bench, he must be questioning where his future lies.

San Siro, perhaps?

Luka Jovic

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have struck up one of the most dangerous strike partnerships in Europe this season, bagging an absolute shedload of goals between them. But behind the duo, I Nerazzurri are severely limited. Youngster Sebastiano Esposito has come in when called upon, but the Italian is far too raw and rash to be relied upon in the big games.

Luka Jovic

So what about an out-of-favour Real Madrid striker who blew away Europe last season with Eintracht Frankfurt? Luka Jovic was a world class goalscorer in Germany, but the Serb has fallen on hard times in Spain.

Conte is known for getting the best out of his players, and there is no doubting that he could be the man to unblock the stuttering striker.

Christian Eriksen

As mentioned before, Inter are desperate for some extra bodies in midfield, especially given the injuries which regular starters Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella have suffered this season. I Nerazzurri’s title charge will come down to their ability to break down lesser teams in tight, cagey matches, and signing a lock-pick like Christian Eriksen could be the difference between glory and failure.

The Danish international has only six months remaining on his current contract, and any European team will be free to sign the midfielder for nothing in the summer. But Conte is a man who lives in the here and now, and he will be thinking about the 2019/20 season – and no further. A cut-price deal could be agreed if Tottenham Hotspur are willing to cut the cord in January.

A bit of a fantasy signing – but who knows?

Cancelo Alvarez wants Mayweather’s rematch.

Canelo Alvarez is holding out hope that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will give him a badly needed rematch in 2020 so that he can avenge his only career defeat. Mayweather SCHOOLED the young 22-year-old Canelo in beating him by a 12 round majority decision on September 14, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo still seems bitter about loss to Mayweather

In the aftermath, Canelo was bitter and angry about the loss, complaining about Mayweaather not standing still so he could fight him one-on-one. In other words, Canelo was upset that Mayweather didn’t give him a handicap. It’s not as Canelo didn’t already have a big handicap going for him in the fact that Mayweather was considerably lighter, weaker, and older at 35-years-old.

Canelo Alvarez picked as Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in 2019
Mayweather won by the scores 117-111, 116-112, 114-114. Boxing News 24 had Mayweather winning 119-109. Canelo fought well enough to win one round, but that’s about it. The judge that scored it a draw at 114-114, CJ Ross, was badly criticized by boxing fans afterwards.

“It’s a fight that I would definitely like, and it’s a different time now,” said Canelo to TMZ Sport in discussing a hypothetical rematch with Mayweather.

“I was very young and experienced at the time and now I’m a different fighter. It will be a totally different result, but it’s a fight that I don’t think will happen,” ssid Canelo of a fight against Mayweather.

Canelo would gain nothing in fighting Mayweather in 2020, as far as receiving credit from the boxing world. Now that Canelo has bulked up to light heavyweight, he would look like a weight bully in fighting Mayweather now. Additionally, Mayweather will be turning 43-years-old in February 2020, and there’s no way that Canelo would receive credit for beating him at this point.

Look at it this way: If Canelo beats Mayweather, boxing fans will stay he beat an old man. Moreover, they’ll say he used his weight advantage to win. A loss for Canelo would wreck his career, and reinforce the belief that he was a pretender to the throne.

“I still don’t know. We’ll see for May,” said Canelo to TMZ when asked who he’ll be fighting next. “MMA fighter? For business, why not,” said Canelo when asked if he’d be interested in facing UFC star Jorge Masvidal. “We’ll see. Oh my God,” said Canelo when asked if he thinks he could beat the 42-year-old Floyd Mayweather Jr. now.

Canelo facing UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal would play well to the MMA fans, but not the boxing fans. This would be viewed as another glorified Youtube celebrity match for fans that aren’t familiar with Masvidal. If Canelo is just interested in money, then fighting Masvidal would work. Boxing fans would be less interested, because they don’t know who Masvidal is

Canelo Alvarez picked as Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year in 2019
“It’s something that happens to the best of us sometimes, you know?” said Canelo when asked about his thoughts on an out of shape Andy Ruiz Jr. losing his rematch against Anthony Joshua on December 7.

Canelo is taking the high road not to dump on Andy Ruiz following his loss to Anthony Joshua. Practically the entire boxing world has been giving Ruiz a hard time over his loss, and saying that should have worked harder to get in shape.

Ruiz Jr. lost his IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight titles against Joshua earlier this month in Saudi Arabia. The chief reason for Ruiz losing was him coming into the fight out of shape, weighing 283 lbs, and not prepared. Ruiz’s trainer Manny Robles spoke of him skipping training days, and not putting in the effort needed to win.

Wilder and Fury 2 sets to face on 22nd feb,2020

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s much anticipated rematch with Tyson Fury has been announced to take place on February 22nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wilder (42-0-1, 40 KOs) will have to make some serious adjustments if he is to prevail, as Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) will be free from ring rust this time around and has the tools to out-box Wilder to a comfortable unanimous points win.

Wilder lost every round last time out against Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz (31-2, 26 KOs) on November 23 on Fox Sports PPV, and looked poor. Deontay cannot show up with the same game plan against Fury and rely solely on one punch.

Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz 2 FOX PPV approaching 275,000 buys
Wilder does have his powerful right hand, but he failed to knock Fury out last time, and will need to add more to his repertoire this time out and not just rely on that.

The pressure on Wilder will be huge as the calls to fight IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) will be massive should he beat Fury somehow. There will be no passes on going back to fighting the calibre of opponents he has made the majority of his defences against in the past.

The general consensus is that now is the time for Wilder to step up and take the big fights to cement his legacy.

Fury has teamed up with trainer Sugarhill Steward, and they are currently devising a strategy to KO Wilder and as shown in the last round of their first fight Fury can buzz Wilder after taking his best shots.

Wilder has been with trainer Jay Deas from the beginning and it is unclear if Deas has the tactical nous or know how to put together a plan to beat a fighter like Fury given how Wilder performed in the first fight and against Ortiz.

One thing is for sure, Wilder cannot afford to perform like he did against a fired up prime Fury like he did against Ortiz.

“There’s no more ducking and diving,” said Fury. “The date has been set, and the ‘Bomb Squad’ is about to be securely detonated and the real champion crowned as the world watches on for the most anticipated fight in years. This is unfinished business for me, but come February 22, this dosser will finally get what’s coming to him, and I can’t wait!”

WWE TLC rematch as Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy faces again.

Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy to battle in WWE TLC rematch
Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy stole the show at WWE TLC. They’ll get a chance to do it again next week.

As confirmed on Raw, the two rivals will get a second round in their thrilling series on the final Raw of 2019 in a match set up by the pair’s dueling wins over local competitors on this week’s show. Judging by Black’s offer of a handshake, Murphy has earned at least some measure of his respect. Judging by Murphy’s refusal, WWE’s Best Kept Secret is willing to chalk up his first loss to a fluke. Come next week, we’ll see who’s right.

Sting wants the Undertaker at wrestlemania 36

….WWE hall of famer wants to face the dead man.

When Sting finally joined WWE in 2014, almost everyone expected him to finally take on The Undertaker in a match that has been hyped on the internet for quite some time now. However, that was not the case as he faced Triple H at Wrestlemania 31 and then, he was involved in a feud with Seth Rollins. The match was still on the cards but Sting’s journey was sadly cut short in 2015 when he suffered a neck injury during the match against Rollins.

Since then, Sting has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and he has made a couple of TV appearances but none of them in the capacity of a wrestler. Although the chances look quite slim, the legend was quick to say that he wants to face The Undertaker in WWE and that is a match that he hoped will happen when he was active.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Sting was asked about the one that he has yet to accomplish in his career. “If there was a Taker situation at WrestleMania, I would listen to that phone call. I could get in condition and I could pull it off,” he replied. However, he added quickly that it seem unlikely that the match will happen.“I think my career is done. I still think about the ‘Taker situation every year, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

When it comes to WWE, another Hall of Famer can make his return to the ring very soon.Rumours of Edge coming out of retirement have been circulating since he made an appearance at the SummerSlam Kickoff show back in August and gave his signature move ‘spear’ to Elias. It was not his first return to a WWE televised program since 2011. But it was the first time he indulged in in-ring action since 2011, which prompted a section of fans to speculate if the wrestler has been medically cleared to compete.

Now, the recent rumours suggest that Edge has signed a new WWE contract and could be making an appearance at Royal Rumble 2020 in January. Said Johnson of PWInsider, in a report, said: “I was told that Edge has been training hard and he’s in great shape and the feeling in WWE is that he will be back relatively soon and the prevailing rumor is that he will wrestle at WrestleMania and possibly sooner as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble.” He further said “we’ve heard that Edge signed a new deal with WWE that has a pretty nice upside.”

Previous Manchester City CEO unveils he mistakenly made £70m bid for Leo Messi

Former Manchester City CEO Cook has sensationally revealed how miscommunication led to him accidentally placing a £70m bid for Lionel Messi in 2008.

Cook worked at the club between 2008 and 2011, joining just as the Abu Dhabi United Group completed their take over of the Citizens. As CEO, he was responsible for transfers and during his time in charge Cook was apparently involved in a number of audacious bids for the likes of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Wayne Rooney.

Ronaldinho,Lionel Messi
In an interview with The Athletic, the 61-year-old also claimed that he inadvertently submitted an offer to Barcelona for the services of Lionel Messi, when Thaksin Shinawatra was still in charge at the club in summer 2008.

“We were in London on a conference call,” Cook explained. “Pairoj Piempongsant was getting heated. The phone was on the table and he was speaking to Paul Aldridge, who had previously been with West Ham, got himself in a bit of trouble [over Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano’s controversial moves], and was also part of Thaksin’s world.

“So picture the scene. There’s Paul with his London accent: ‘Pairoj, you got to tell me what we’re doing, it’s getting out of control.’ Pairoj was lying on a chaise lounge, getting a massage, and shouting: ‘Yes, yes, yes! Very messy, messy, it’s getting messy.’

“Something got lost in translation and — on my daughter’s eyesight, this is the truth — that was misheard as ‘we’ve got to get Messi’.”

Cook claimed that after the bid was submitted Barcelona contacted Premier League chairman Dave Richards to check if the offer of around £70m was genuine.

“They were saying to Dave that, if it was real, they might have done a deal a few weeks earlier,” he said.

Barcelona’s Argentinian forward Lionel M

In the end Messi remained at Barcelona, with City eventually securing the signing of Robinho to kick start the most successful era in their history.

Frank Lampard’s Side Victorious.

Chelsea survived a late scare to move into the Champions League knockout stages with victory over Lille at Stamford Bridge…

Frank Lampard’s side were in complete control for the most part and set up the victory they required with first-half goals from Tammy Abraham and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Chelsea’s nerves were frayed when former striker Loic Remy pulled one back for Lille late on but they were able to close out victory to reach the last 16 after finishing a tough group in second place behind Valencia but ahead of last season’s semi-finalists

Abraham scored his 13th goal of the season after 19 minutes when he turned in Willian’s cross from close range while Azpilicueta headed in from Emerson’s corner 10 minutes before the break.

Where Lampard must improve Chelsea

Lampard and Chelsea deserve great credit for navigating their way out of a dangerous Group H – especially as the Champions League campaign opened with a home defeat by Valencia.

Chelsea regrouped, struck gold with a crucial win away against Ajax and then earned another vital point coming from 4-1 down in the return game against last season’s semi-finalists at Stamford Bridge.

It has been a good effort but Lampard will know as well as anyone that there are faults which must be addressed before the tournament resumes with the knockout phase in February.

Group H: Valencia, Chelsea, Ajax, Lille

Chelsea are full of flair and excitement going forward, led by the free-scoring Abraham, but vulnerable at the back, as proved by those four goals conceded at home to Ajax and the number of chances conceded before drawing 2-2 in Valencia.

And even here, where they were in cruise control for virtually the whole game, they had anxious moments at the end after Remy scored for Lille.

It is in central defence where the uncertainties lie, deficiencies exposed in the Premier League as well as in Europe – and the evidence is already there that this soft underbelly will leave Chelsea in danger as they are on course to draw one of the Champions League elite.

The return of Antonio Rudiger after injury, starting his first game since September, at least gives Lampard the luxury of having his best defender available but the lifting of Chelsea’s transfer ban is very timely in the Champions League context.

Chelsea will surely be looking in the central defensive area, although buying high quality in January is always made more difficult by others clubs’ reluctance to sell mid-season.

Lampard will be well aware this is a weak link that will be ruthlessly probed if Chelsea are to drive deeper into this competition.

Abraham maturing fast

Abraham was given his Chelsea chance after the club were hit with the transfer ban, and on the back of his stellar performances in inspiring Aston Villa to promotion to the Premier League during a loan spell last season.

And how the 22-year-old has delivered in style at home and abroad for Chelsea and his mentor Lampard – scoring his 13th goal of an outstanding season so far, poaching inside the six-yard box on the end of Willian’s delivery.

It was a goal that made Abraham the first English player to score 13 competitive goals for Chelsea in a single season since Lampard scored 17 in 2012-13. There is plenty of potential to add to that tally with more than half of the season remaining.

Abraham’s physical presence is imposing but his mobility is also impressive and as he proved in loan spells at Bristol City and Villa, he deals heavily in the most valuable currency of all – goals.

Chelsea’s weaknesses at the back are obvious, but the young striker has the ability to compensate, emerging as an increasingly influential figure in Lampard’s developing Chelsea side.

Man of the match – Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)

Tammy Abraham
Abraham set Chelsea on their way with a calm finish after 18 minutes. As well as registering two of his three shots on target, he made three key passes for team-mates in a confident display

‘There will be bumps in the road’

“It’s going to be a work in progress. With the young players we have in this side there will be bumps in the road. I push them and can be quite hard on them, setting the high standards I want to see them reach, but at the same time I have to be patient.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard told BT Sport: “It did get twitchy. We need to take our chances better. At 2-0 I thought it was not quite done and when Lille scored it made it a more nervy finish to the game than it needed to be.

“Today was a sign of how much work we still have got to do. It should have been a calmer finish to the game and that is the biggest thing, for me, that we need to improve.”

19 years Eagles Goal Keeper Cried After Debuts For Nigeria. (See What He Said)

Super Eagles and Fortuna Dusseldorf goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has revealed he got emotional after making his debut for Nigeria against Brazil at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday, October 13.

The 19-year-old Nigerian-born German goalkeeper, whose good looks got many drooling when he went viral weeks ago, replaced Uzoho after he suffered an injury during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Brazil’s Selecao.

Speaking with Omasports, Maduka said: ”It was a great feeling, almost indescribable because I had many emotions and feelings going through. I thank God for the team and the opportunity I’ve gotten to play for the national side of our beloved country. ”I cried after the game. I shed tears when I spoke to my father and brother.”

On what it felt like playing against the country of his role model, Dida, a former Brazil, and AC Milan goalkeeper, Maduka said; ” I grew up watching Dida, he is a legend in Brazil and AC Milan and I felt great. I talked to Ederson and he is also one of my favourite goalkeepers. It’s crazy being on the same pitch with a goalkeeper you watch his videos on YouTube.”

On the surprising debut for Nigeria, he said: ”I didn’t expect to play, I was just sitting on the bench like the last time in Ukraine and I knew I’d have to wait for my chance. I didn’t know it will come so soon but things can be like that.”

On pidgin and its difficulty, he said; ”I thought pidgin was easy but it’s a lot more than some words.

It’s a whole other language. Some of them are teaching me, I hope I’ll be ready to speak pidgin in a few years. I know the basics now.”

He extended his most heartfelt regards to Uzoho over his injury. He said; ”I wish Francis the fastest recovery he can get because we push each other in training and he’s a really great guy. I’m sad for him but that’s football and I hope he will come back stronger so he can be back on the pitch.”

On the massive love, he has been receiving from Nigerians, he added: ”I have no words for Nigerians, because of the huge love they’ve shown me. I want them to know that I love them and I will do my best to pay them back.”

Ex United Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson Challenged Of Fixing Match Between Man United And Juventus For An Exchange. (Details)

Former Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson allegedly fixed a football match with a corrupt agent who gave him a £30,000 gold Rolex, a court heard today.

Football agent, Giuseppe ‘Pino’ Pagliara, 64, made the claims to an undercover reporter posing as a businesswoman looking to invest in football players, jurors were told.

Pagliara is on trial for bribery at Southwark Crown Court alongside assistant head coach of Barnsley Football Club Tommy Wright and fellow football agent Dax Price. All three deny the charges.

The trio were charged following allegations of corruption published by the Daily Telegraph in 2016, one of which led to Sam Allardyce resigning as England manager.

He said the legendary manager fixed a champions league game against Italian giants Juventus and alleged Ferguson pocketed money from transfer deals, Southwark Crown Court heard.

Pagliara and fellow agent Dax Price allegedly tried to “impress” Claire Newell by arranging meetings with prominent footballing figures such as Steve McLaren, Harry Redknapp, and manager Neil Warnock, prosecuter Brian O’Neill QC told Southwark Crown Court.

O’Neil said Pagliara claimed that “99 percent of the people in football if they weren’t in football, would be selling second-hand cars.”

Pagliara was said to be“furious” with Redknapp for suggesting the reporter should buy a football club instead of using a legal loophole to get around a ban on third-party ownership of players in England during a meeting in July 2016, the court heard.

Describing another meeting, Mr O’Neill said: “Towards the end of the meeting Pagliara launched into what could only be described as a diatribe of Sir Alex Ferguson, accusing him of having conspired with Pagliara to fix the result of a football match between Juventus, a club which Pagliara was associated with, and Manchester United in the Champions League for which Pagliara had thanked him with a gold 30 grand Rolex watch.

“Pagliara went on to accuse Sir Alex Ferguson of having taken money as part of transfer deals. He claimed that he had paid Ferguson before.”

He added: “To the outside world, the plan being espoused by Mr. Pagliara, it would look as though the player in question was owned by the football club in Belgium when actually the player was owned by a third party.

“And that, said Pagliara, was the plan that he wanted to end upbringing to England because that’s where the money is.

“He went to speak about placing players in Italian clubs where he had various connections before moving them to England.

“‘You have to have an offshore account somewhere and that’s where we do it. For example Antonio Conte [then head coach at Chelsea[ has winked at us and said, “yeah, I want that player, is there a little coffee for me Pino?”’

“A little coffee, she said. ‘Yeah, that’s what he’ll say: yeah of course there is and now I’m negotiating a coffee as well and we are not talking about a double espresso.’

“He went on to say he would disguise it as a consultancy agreement by another trusted individual.

“‘Claire, I’ve opened so many Swiss bank accounts for managers that you would not believe’.”

Tommy Wright, 53, then assistant head coach of Championship club Barnsley, accepted a cash bribe to get players to sign up with the agents, the court was told.

Undercover reporter Claire Newell and her team set up a fake company and told Pagliara and Price that she wanted to invest in football players, jurors heard.

The court was told that they arranged for a £5,000 bribe to be handed in an envelope to Scots-born Wright, who played top-flight football for Leeds, Leicester City, Oldham, and Middlesbrough.

Wright, of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, denies two counts of accepting a bribe, while Pagliara, 64, of Bury, Greater Manchester, and Price, 48, of Sittingbourne, Kent, deny two counts of paying and facilitating a bribe.

The prosecutor said of Mr Price: “He went on to say this: ‘There are certain people like Harry Redknapp; he needs looking after. There are certain people like Neil Warnock.’

“It’s no part of this prosecution to malign those individuals about whom they spoke.

“These people were not present when these things were being said about them and were in no position therefore to challenge, deny or rebut those allegations.

“However, it’s significant evidence in the case of the defendant who said the words and any other defendant who was present and did not disassociate themselves from those words.

“And that’s because it’s evidence of that defendant’s knowledge or belief of corruption within football in this country and elsewhere and his willingness in just to condone such practices, but also to embrace and exploit them and that’s why this evidence is relevant and admissible.”

The trial continues.

Samuel Chukwueze, Villarreal To Play Athletico Madrid in Miami.

Super Eagles player, Samuel Chukwueze’s club Villarreal may play their match against Atletico Madrid in Miami.

La Liga yesterday sought the permission of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to hold December match in the United States of America.

Villarreal and Atletico Madrid have agreed to the proposal to hold the 6 December fixture at the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium.

Villarreal president Fernando Roig confirmed in a radio interview disclosed that the two clubs were hoping to reach an agreement on the request.

Roig insisted such an event would be beneficial and important for Spanish football’s growth, and the three parties have now lodged an official proposal to play the match on December 6 at Hard Rock Stadium.

A statement posted to Villarreal’s website read: “La Liga, alongside Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, [on Thursday] presented an official request to the RFEF to play the match between Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, corresponding to La Liga matchday 16, on December 6, 2019, at 10pm Spanish time (4pm local time) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (Florida, United States).

Why I Have Been Struggling In Chelsea – Christian Pulisic.

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic has revealed why he is struggling at Stamford Bridge this season.

Pulisic has struggled to hold down a starting place under manager, Frank Lampard this season following his £53million move from Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old is also yet to get on the score sheet, but has picked up a few assists in various competitions.

Having failed to find the back of the net in the first five matches he started, Lampard dropped the American to the bench.

The winger has only managed to play 10 minutes of football since then.

But Pulisic is now saying that the pressure of being an American is one of the reasons he hasn’t reach his best form at the Blues, adding that his country’s historic struggles to produce top-level footballers was the reason.

It makes you feel really good at the beginning to be honest, you feel great, you see all these things, people talking about you on social media; “wow this kid is great, he’s special, he’s playing, he’s scoring goals at 17 or 18 years old for his national team, he’s playing for Dortmund in Europe,”‘ Pulisic told the Players’ Tribune.

“You feel really great and then it’s more just pressure you feel like all the stuff is kind of hitting you, and you start being expected to do all of these things.

“This generation can be tough, for young players especially, having people talk about you, having constant pressure on your back. Especially as Americans, we haven’t had a lot of top international talents throughout our years. If you’re not able to tune it out then it can be a weight on your shoulders.”

Pulisic will now hope to feature for Chelsea this weekend when they take on Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Alexis Sanches Undergoes Surgery In Barcelona After Clash With Inter.

Chile forward Alexis Sanchez has undergone surgery in Barcelona after picking up an ankle injury on international duty, his Italian club Inter Milan confirmed on Wednesday.

Sanchez hobbled off in the 88th minute of a goalless draw in the friendly against Colombia in Alicante on Saturday.

Inter said that Sanchez underwent a consultation with Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona on Wednesday morning.

“The visit confirmed the diagnosis of the Inter medical staff and the decision was made to proceed with surgery on the left ankle,” the Serie A club said in a statement.

“The operation was performed in the afternoon on the peroneus longus tendon and it went exactly as planned.”

Medical tests in Milan on Tuesday revealed damage to a tendon in his left ankle and Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda said he expected the forward could be out for up to three months.

Sanchez joined Inter on loan from Manchester United this season, but has made just four appearances.

The 30-year-old was sent off in his first full start after scoring in a 3-1 win over Sampdoria.

Inter are second in the Italian league one point behind defending champions Juventus after seven matches.

Real Madrid Shows Interest In N’Golo Kante, Ready To Drop £86 Million.

Real Madrid are preparing to launch an offer of £86million plus winger, James Rodriguez for Chelsea’s midfielder, N’Golo Kante.

According to El Desmarque, Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane has identified Kante as a long-time replacement for Luka Modric, who is in the latter stage of his career at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish newspaper also reports that Kante dreams of playing for the Los Blancos and has lost faith in the ‘Chelsea project’ under manager, Frank Lampard.

Kante has been impressive since joining Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016.

The 28-year-old has two Premier League titles, the UEFA Europa League and also the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France.

Kante’s Chelsea will take on Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.

FIFA: Empty Stands At Korea’s Qualifiers Disappointed Gianni Infantino.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said he was “disappointed” after attending a historic but bizarre World Cup qualifier between North and South Korea that had empty stands and no live broadcast.

The match in the North Korean capital ended 0-0 on Tuesday, with Infantino one of the few people allowed to see the gameplay out at Pyongyang’s Kim Il Sung Stadium.

“I was looking forward to seeing a full stadium for such a historic match but was disappointed to see there were no fans in the stands,” he said in an interview published on the FIFA website.

“We were surprised by this and by several issues related to its live broadcast and problems with visas and access for foreign journalists.”

No foreign media were at the game — the first competitive men’s match to be played in Pyongyang between the two sides, whose countries are still technically at war.

Frustrated South Korean fans who were not permitted to travel to the game will have to wait days to see it on television after officials bring back a DVD recording.

“For us, freedom of the press and freedom of speech are obviously paramount, but on the other hand it would be naive to think we can change the world from one minute to the next,” Infantino said.

The match comes in the wake of a series of North Korean missile tests that raised tensions in the region, and after the breakdown of talks with the US over Pyongyang’s weapons programmes.

It is a far cry from the cross-border warmth of last year when South Korean President Moon Jae-in seized on the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics to broker the Pyongyang-Washington discussion process.

The only simple way to follow the match, which the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) had billed as “one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures” for years, was a limited online text commentary posted on the FIFA and AFC websites.

Meanwhile, North Korean state media did not offer much in the way of colourful description in its report on the match.

“The game of attacks and counterattacks ended in a draw,” summarised the official Korean Central News Agency in a two-line dispatch.

Infantino said he and his team had raised questions of free press and speech with North Korea’s football association.

“We will certainly keep pushing so that football can have a positive influence in (North) Korea… and other countries around the world,” he said.

Next Week Clasico Against Barcelona, Modric And Bale Out Of Training. (Reasons).

Real Madrid face an anxious wait to see if Luka Modric and Gareth Bale will be fit for next week’s Clasico against Barcelona after both players missed training on Tuesday.

Modric and Bale each did gym work indoors as they attempted to recover from injuries sustained playing in the Euro 2020 qualifier between Croatia and Wales on Sunday.

It leaves Madrid uncertain over the fitness of two key players, with the crunch La Liga game against Barca at Camp Nou fast-approaching on October 26.

Wales coach Ryan Giggs said Bale was struggling with pain in his calf towards the end of their draw with Croatia in Cardiff but suggested the problem was cramp.

Madrid confirmed on Tuesday that Modric sustained a thigh injury in the match.

“Following the tests carried out today on our player Luka Modric by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a bruise in his right quadriceps,” a club statement read. “His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

Real Madrid, who sit top of La Liga, play away at Mallorca on Saturday and at Barcelona a week later, with an important Champions League group game away at Galatasaray in between.

Lucas Vazquez has also picked up a knock and is unlikely to be available this weekend.

The only negative thing is the injury to Francis Uzoho – Gernor Rohr.

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has praised his team for putting up a good performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brazil in a friendly match in Singapore.

Five-time world champions Brazil had to dig deep before securing the equalizer as the Super Eagles had them chasing the ball in the first half following Joseph Ayodele-Aribo’s 35th-minute goal.

“This result is a good confidence booster for the team. We now have to prepare for the more competitive games next month.

“I am happy we stayed organized even when the Brazilians mounted a lot of pressure on us in the second half. The only negative thing is the injury to Francis Uzoho,” the Franco-German said.

Aribo’s goal, his second in a second appearance for the Super Eagles, was a clinical finish as he received a pass from Moses Simon and then maneuvered his way through a number of Brazilian legs to shoot past goalkeeper Ederson.

Brazil drew level three minutes into the second half through Casemiro. And despite several attacks from the Samba Boys, the three-time African champions stayed strong and could have won it if Aribo and Samuel Chukwueze had converted late chances.

The team doctor, Ibrahim Gyaran has confirmed that goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who horribly twisted his leg as he went for the ball from a corner kick, will be out for about six months,

Nigeria host Benin Republic on 14th November in the opening day of the 2021 AFCON qualifying campaign. On 19th November, they will take Lesotho for a matchday two action.

Liverpool will sit alongside their trophy as a ‘barometer of success’ – Peter Moore.

Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore says a long-overdue Premier League title would sit alongside their Champions League triumph as a “barometer of success” for the club.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won a sixth European Cup in June, less than a month after they were pipped by Manchester City to the league title by a single point.

The league resumes on Saturday with Liverpool eight points clear of City and favourites to win their first top-flight title for 30 years.

“I think that is what our fans want,” Moore told the Press Association. “We were so close last year, 97 points, and in any other year we would have won it.

“But the club goes on and I think that (a league title), for many of our fans, would sit alongside our Champions League triumph as the barometer of success.”

City have been the domestic benchmark for their rivals, with four Premier League titles, four League Cups and two FA Cups since 2011, but Moore said Liverpool were following their own path.

“What Liverpool had to do was bring in a world-class manager, which we have, bring in a world-class squad, which we have, play exciting football, bring in players that are going to draw crowds no matter where they go, we’ve done that, build financial security at the club, we’ve done that.”

Moore said the Champions League victory had had a huge impact on the club, lifting them back to the level of “European royalty”.

Nine years ago Fenway Sports Group, then New England Sports Ventures, completed their £300 million ($380 million) purchase of the club.

They inherited a club languishing towards the foot of the Premier League with six points from their opening seven matches during the short-lived reign of Roy Hodgson.

“When we look at the health of the club, our revenues have doubled in the last five years and been reinvested back into the squad,” said Moore. “We have steadied the ship from some dark days nine years ago.

“We take great pride in our business model: a self-sustaining football club.

“He (Klopp) has built the chemistry and these players are content, motivated and excited to win — not just for Jurgen and the coaching staff but for the people of Liverpool and broader global fanbase.”

North Korea Vs South Korea: It has only happened once, in 1990.

On Tuesday, North and South Korea will play a football derby like no other, the BBC reports.

It’s not too rare for the two sides to face off – but it’s almost unheard of to play in the North’s capital, Pyongyang. In fact, it has only happened once, in 1990.

There will be no live broadcast, no fans from the South, and no foreign media at all in the stands.

After some progress in 2018 – when sports partly broke the ice – ties between North and South are at a low.

Safe to say, this is a match the home side will not be taking lightly.

“Football is the most popular spectator sport in North Korea and sports are hugely important for the North,” Andray Abrahamian, Senior Adjunct Fellow at the Pacific Forum, told the BBC.

“It provides a focal point for pride and patriotism. In a sense, it’s pretty similar to how other countries use sports for social purposes.”

Kick-off between the two men’s national teams will be in the early evening (08:30 GMT), but if you want to follow the match, you’ll have a hard time.

Apart from the fact it isn’t being broadcast live, even international tourists currently in North Korea won’t be allowed to watch the game.

Portuguese and Ex Real Madrid Star, Cristiano Ronaldo Hits 700 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 700th goal of his professional career during Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifying loss to Ukraine on Monday, October 14th.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner brought up his septuple century for club and country when he converted a second-half penalty in Kiev, awarded after Taras Stepanenko handled the ball inside the box.

It was his 95th goal for Portugal, with only Iran’s Ali Daei (109) ahead of him on the all-time international goals list.

Ronaldo is just one of six footballers to have hit the 700 mark, with Josef Bican estimated to be the top goalscorer in history with 805 goals. Behind him is a pair of former Brazilian stars in Romario and Pele, who finished their illustrious careers with 772 goals and 767 goals, respectively. Ferenc Puskas’ 746 career finishes and Gerd Muller’s 735 round out the top five.

Ronaldo’s long-time rival, Lionel Messi, looks set to join the 700 club imminently, as the Argentine is currently sitting on 699 career finishes. The bulk of Ronaldo’s goals came for Real Madrid, 450 over the course of nine seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu between 2009 and 2018.

Coleen and Rebekah Caused Reef Between Husbands, Rooney and Jamie Vardy. (Check reason)

Jamie Vardy has reportedly unfollowed his former England teammate Wayne Rooney on social media amid the ongoing feud between their wives, Rebekah and Coleen.

Last week, Coleen, 33, took to Instagram to call out her former friend Rebekah who she accused her of Selling false Stories’ about her to The Sun.

In response to the accusation, Rebekah Vardy, 37, who is currently pregnant with her fifth child denied all the accusations and even slammed Coleen for going public when she knows she is heavily pregnant

Now, The Sun are reporting that the Leicester City striker, 32, is so angry about the whole situation and has unfollowed Rooney, 33, from his Instagram and Twitter accounts but Rooney still follows Vardy on Instagram.

A source told the publication: ‘Jamie has always got on well with Wayne, but he won’t stand for having his wife hung out to dry in public like this.’

The insider added that footballer Jamie is standing by his wife of three years ‘100 per cent’ as she launches a fight to prove her innocence against claims that she sold false stories about Coleen.

Said a friend: ‘He’s totally behind Becky and furious with the Rooneys for the way they have gone about this.

‘He and Wayne always got on well and he likes him. But he has made his feelings clear. Cutting him off on social media is a totally deliberate snub.’
