Following increasing rumors of a Snoop vs. Em feud, a fan shared a throwback photo of both legendary rappers with Dr. Dre. The post was captioned, “I wonder what changed …,” referencing the so-called beef that has been simmering since summer 2020.
Snoop took to the comments section to reassure fans that nothing has changed, and insisted everything was all good.
“[Dr. Dre] probably put Eminem in the position that he would be considered one of the top 10 rappers ever,” Snoop said during an interview on the Breakfast Club. I don’t think so, but the game thinks that he’s a top 10 lyricist and everything that comes with it. That’s just because he’s with Dr. Dre.”
Fast-forward to Dec. 18, when Em released Music to Be Murdered By: Side B, which included a subtle shot at Snoop: “And, as far as squashing beef, I’m used to people knocking me/But, just not in my camp,” Em rapped on the “Zeus” track. “And diplomatic as I’m tryna be/Last thing I need is Snoop dogging me/Man, Dogg, you was like a (Yeah) damn god to me/Nah, not really (Haha)/I had ‘dog’ backwards/But I’m starting to think, all these people takin’ shots at me/Shit, it’s no wonder.”
Eminem spoke to Shade 45 about the dig, explaining he was caught off guard by Snoop’s top-10 rapper comment. The Detroit MC claimed he had no problem with Snoop’s opinion, but didn’t like the tone in which it was delivered.
“Everything he said, by the way, was fine, up to a point,” Em said. “Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that? Would I be here without Dre? Fuck no, I wouldn’t … I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard ‘cause I’m like, where is this coming from? I just saw you, what the fuck? It threw me for a loop.” Eminem went on to reveal the line that ticked him off the most. “I probably could’ve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that shit.’ Now you’re being disrespectful.”
Snoop caught wind of Em’s explanation and gave the following response: “Pray I don’t answer that soft ass shit.”
Thankfully for Snoop and Em stans, the situation has yet to escalate. And, if we take Snoop’s word, the mild drama has been squashed.

Chadwick Boseman, star of the groundbreaking superhero movie “Black Panther,” has died after a private four-year battle with colon cancer, his publicist told AFP Friday.
Boseman, 43, never publicly discussed his condition and continued to work on major Hollywood films during and between “countless” operations and chemotherapy, his family said in a statement.
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in ‘Black Panther,’” they said.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all,” the statement added. He died in his home “with his wife and family by his side,” it said.
Boseman played the first black superhero to get his own standalone film in the record-breaking Marvel franchise with 2018’s “Black Panther.”
The movie, set in the fictional African kingdom of Wakanda, was adored by critics and audiences, becoming the first comic book film to be nominated for best picture at the Oscars and grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Boseman played black icons, Jackie Robinson, in “42” — Friday, ironically, was Jackie Robinson Day in the US — and James Brown in “Get on Up.”
The news of Boseman’s death sent shockwaves through Hollywood and around the world.
“The true power of @chadwickboseman was bigger than anything we saw on screen,” wrote Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
“From the Black Panther to Jackie Robinson, he inspired generations and showed them they can be anything they want — even superheroes.”
Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris said she was “heartbroken” and referenced Howard University in Washington, nicknamed Bison, where they both studied.
“My friend and fellow Bison Chadwick Boseman was brilliant, kind, learned, and humble,” she tweeted. “He left too early but his life made a difference. Sending my sincere condolences to his family.”
Boseman’s final post to Twitter, on August 12, was to congratulate Harris the day after she was announced as the Democratic candidate for vice president in the 2020 election.
Chris Evans, who played Captain America in the Marvel series, tweeted: “Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply committed and constantly curious artist. He had so much amazing work still left to create. I’m endlessly grateful for our friendship.”
Another of Boseman’s Marvel co-stars, Mark Ruffalo, tweeted: “Brother, you were one of the all-time greats and your greatness was only beginning. Lord love ya.”
Both Evans and Ruffalo signed off their tweets: “Rest in power, King.”
Leading US civil rights organization the NAACP praised Boseman for “showing us how to conquer adversity with grace” and “to walk as a King, without losing the common touch.”
“#RestInPower #BlackPantherForever,” its tweet concluded.
‘Hearts Are Broken’ Boseman had recently appeared in Spike Lee’s Vietnam War-set “Da 5 Bloods,” and was set to appear in a sequel to “Black Panther” due in 2022.
“Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace,” wrote the official Marvel Twitter account.
His character T’Challa, king and protector of technologically advanced Wakanda, was the first black superhero in mainstream American comics, having been featured in “The Fantastic Four” in 1966.
The Marvel film was celebrated as an important cultural moment for its mainly black cast, and for subverting stereotypes by depicting a prosperous African country that takes in refugees and extends its culture and technology to poorer nations.
Boseman shrugged off doubters who tried to convince him not to give the superhero an African accent.
“There was a time period where people would ask me questions about whether or not an audience could sit through a movie with a lead character that spoke with that accent,” he said at the time.
“I became adamant about the fact that it’s not true,” he added.
Born in South Carolina, the son of a nurse and an upholstery entrepreneur, Boseman has roots in the West African state of Sierra Leone.
Before Marvel, he was best known for his acclaimed portrayal of the legendary Robinson in Brian Helgeland’s “42” (2013), which had the highest-grossing debut for a baseball movie in Hollywood history.
He was also lavished with praise for his interpretation of soul singer Brown in “Get on Up” (2014), earning inclusion among the top 10 performances of 2014 by Time magazine.

Meghan Markle said Friday she was pleased to be back in America, where she plans to speak out against racism and campaign for positive change in her home country.
Markle and husband Prince Harry relocated to the United States via Canada this year after announcing in January that they were quitting frontline British royal duties.
The Duchess of Sussex, who is mixed race, said it was “devastating” to return as America’s systemic racism was laid bare following the death in police custody of unarmed black man George Floyd in May.
But her feelings began to change as the country became gripped by widespread peaceful protests, and airwaves became dominated by black voices speaking against decades of discrimination.
“It shifted from sadness to a feeling of absolute inspiration because I can see that the tide is turning,” she told a summit hosted by The 19th*, a new news organization overwhelmingly staffed by women.
“From my standpoint it’s not new to see this undercurrent of racism and certainly unconscious bias,” said Markle, who grew up in Los Angeles.
“But I think to see the changes that are being made right now is… something that I look forward to being a part of and being a part of using my voice in a way that I haven’t been able to of late.
“So yeah it’s good to be home,” she added.
The “Suits” actress, who was interviewing The 19th*’s CEO Emily Ramshaw about the role of gender in media, also hinted at her and Harry’s troubles with tabloid papers.
Since stepping back from the royal front lines, Harry and Meghan have waged an increasingly bitter war with the media, particularly the British tabloid press.
Markle has brought a high-profile case against the Mail on Sunday, website Mail Online and its owner Associated Newspapers.
‘Toxicity’ She claims breach of privacy, data protection rights and copyright over the publication of extracts of correspondence to her estranged father, Thomas, after her wedding to Harry.
Last month the couple filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against one or more paparazzi whom they accused of taking pictures of their son Archie without their permission.
“I think what’s so fascinating, at least from my standpoint and my personal experience the past couple years (is) the headline alone, the clickbait alone makes an imprint,” said Markle.
She added that there is “so much toxicity” in certain news coverage.
“My husband and I talk about it often – this ‘economy for attention’… what is monetizable right now when you’re looking at the digital space and media.
“And so if you’re just trying to grab someone’s attention and keep it you’re going for something salacious versus something truthful,” said Markle, 39.
Prince Harry has likened what he said was a “ruthless campaign” against his wife to the treatment of his mother, Diana, princess of Wales.
She was killed in a high-speed car crash in Paris in August 1997, while being pursued by paparazzi photographers.
Markle and Harry have spoken of their desire to “to do something of meaning, to do something that matters,” in California, where they plan to launch a wide-ranging non-profit organization named Archewell.
They recently moved into a new family home in Santa Barbara, according to US media reports.
Banky W has advised fans to stop trying to drag Wizkid and Davido into the success recorded by Burna Boy and his new album Twice As Tall.
The album which is currently trending just hours of release has seen fans compare Burna Boy to Wizkid and Davido with claim placing him above them.
The claim has now been set straight by Banky W who wrote: “Dear fans, please note: Acknowledging @burnaboy’s unquestionable greatness doesn’t mean we must bring up (or put down) Wiz, David or anyone else. And vice versa.”
The album on Boomplay had a caption showing Burna Boy describing it as “the album about a period of time in my life. It’s an album about the struggle for freedom. It’s an album about life in general, real life, good times, bad times, happy times, sad times, great times.”
The album has been praised by prominent Nigerians who label it a Grammy Award class.
Nollywood actress cum film producer Uche Jombo has expressed displeasure with the presentation of Burna Boy by New York Post on Friday.
Few hours after Afro-beat superstar, Burnaboy dropped his most anticipated sixth studio album; #TwiceAsTall, the American news platform posted a story about it.
However, the headline of the article says: “Beyoncé-endorsed Burnaboy makes Afro-beat go International.”
The first paragraph of the article was about how Burna Boy felt when approached by Beyonce last year.
In reaction to the report, Uche Jombo via her verified Twitter account expressed dissatisfaction as she lambasts the paper for their insensitive headline.
“As you can imagine, the Nigerian artist felt like worldwide royalty when he was approached by the Queen B — um, yes, Beyoncé — to work with her on last year’s “The Lion King: The Gift” album.”
She wrote: “I love Beyonce as the next person but you are wrong with this ..Beyonce-endorsed Burna Boy “makes” a whole AFROBEAT go international. such a think piece let down by the headline. Do better.”
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday announced the arrests of three alleged associates of R. Kelly, saying that they used harassment and threats to try to silence women accusing the disgraced singer of sex crimes.
For more than a year the artist born Robert Sylvester Kelly has been awaiting trial in several states for alleged wrongdoings including sex crimes against minors and child pornography.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, which range across the states of Illinois, Minnesota and New York.
In filings released Wednesday, prosecutors say three members of the artist’s circle — Richard Arline Jr., Donnell Russell and Michael Williams — have been engaged in separate bids to silence Kelly’s accusers in the New York racketeering case against him through intimidation, harassment and bribery.
They say tactics have included the burning of a car outside a residence where one accuser was staying, threats to release sexually explicit photographs of one woman, and a scheme to compensate one accuser to the tune of $500,000 to influence her testimony.
“These crimes shock the conscience,” said Homeland Security Special Agent in Charge Peter Fitzhugh in a statement.
“The men charged today allegedly have shown that there is no line they will not cross to help Kelly avoid the consequences of his alleged crimes — even if it means revictimizing his accusers.”
Kelly faces federal charges in two separate cases — in Chicago and in New York — linked to his alleged sexual abuse of minors.
The singer known for hits like “I Believe I Can Fly” has a decades-long history of abuse allegations, especially of underage girls.
The Chicago federal charges say Kelly filmed himself having sex with minors and that he paid potential witnesses in his 2008 trial — in which he was acquitted — to ensure their silence.
He also faces bribery charges in New York that are believed to be linked to his marriage to the late singer Aaliyah when she was just 15 years old.
That charge expanded on an earlier New York indictment that includes racketeering, accusing Kelly of systematically recruiting girls for sex while touring and coercing them into sexual activity.
The artist is set for trial first in New York, with jury selection currently slated to being September 29.
Restrictions preventing in-person trials due to the coronavirus pandemic will likely see that date postponed.
The Managing Director of a record label, N-TYZE Entertainment, Ovie Williams has filed an N10m suit against Afropop singer, Ekenedilichukwu Ijemba popularly known as Humblesmith.
In the suit filed in the High Court of Ogun, Abeokuta Division, Ovie accused the “Osinachi crooner” of contract breach, assault and intimidation over a passport “theft” claim.
According to the suit filed by Mega Solicitors, counsel to Ovie, Humblesmith allegedly sent some police officers attached to the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos to harass and intimidate him over the “theft” of the passport which he described as a “purely civil” matter.
The MD of N-TYZE Entertainment, is, therefore, demanding a claim of N10m as damages following the alleged harassment and intimidation meted out to him by the officers contracted by the singer.
Counsel to the record label’s MD said as the artist’s manager, Ovie is by contract mandated to keep the singer’s passport, asking the court to declare the action of the police officers as illegal and unconstitutional.
The suit is also asking the court to restrain the police officers from further intimidating and harassing Ovie, directly or indirectly, while stoping the artist from performing in any musical shows, concerts, releasing any album, jingles and appearing in an event until the suit is determined.
Parting Ways In a social media post on Tuesday, Humblesmith had said he is parting ways with the record label due to fund mismanagement.
