Antoine Griezmann has endured a tough first season at Barcelona, so much so that his former agent Eric Olhats claims that he was looking for a way out of the club this summer.
The Frenchman felt unwanted at the Blaugrana until recently, but after a conversation with new coach Ronald Koeman, he is now content at the Camp Nou.
“Before the defeat in the Champions League to Bayern, Antoine only had the desire to leave Barcelona,” Olhats told RMC.
“The reality is that Griezmann perceived that he was not part of the club’s plans, that he could not continue like this.
“He was seriously studying how to leave. Then what we know happened and a conversation with Koeman reassured him.
“[Koeman] expressed his plans, because he considers him an important player for the future.”
Following the defeat to Bayern Munich, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu mentioned that only eight players were guaranteed to stay at the club, one of whom was Griezmann.
