Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has warned teenage sensation Mason Greenwood will get even better.
The 18-year-old forward has enjoyed a stellar breakthrough season after coming through the club’s academy.
Greenwood has scored 17 goals and established himself as a regular in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as United finished third in the Premier League and then booked a place in the Europa League semi-finals.
Fernandes is in no doubt team-mate Greenwood is going to be even more formidable next season.
‘I think Mason has done a great season, of course,’ Fernandes told the Daily Mirror. ‘He’s young and he has great numbers this season.
‘The age is just a number, and you see Mason has done very well. He can do much more because of the qualities he has, and he still has to grow up physically.
‘He did fantastically this season and he will get better.
‘He needs to play more and get more confidence from his team-mates and the staff and I think he will get much better because he has that quality.’
Solskjaer has invested in young talent including a dynamic front three in Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, 22, and Anthony Martial, 24.
‘I think we have such good young players, but when you arrive at the first team the age is just a number,’ said Fernandes, 25.
‘It’s about mentality and the older ones need to pass the good mentality to the younger ones.’
