Griezmann Knows he can do better – Lenglet

Close friends off the field and teammates on it, Clement Lenglet didn’t hide when asked about the form of Antoine Griezmann.

Having joined from Atletico Madrid in the summer, some have been disappointed by the forward’s contribution.

“He’s well integrated in the dressing room – really, there is no problem – but on the pitch he knows he can do better,” Lenglet told Le Parisien.

“Like Antoine, in a different style, got used to Atletico; he’s a player who we are very demanding of, but I see him working hard in training. He can only improve.

“I’m sure that everything will go well for Antoine at Barcelona.

“He’s scored 14 goals and has various assists. For a first season, that’s not bad.”

The defender also discussed the good atmosphere in the dressing room, despite off-the-pitch drama.

“It’s not difficult at all. There are still six games left, so we will try to keep winning points and hope to keep that up until the end,” Lenglet said.

“In terms of motivation, it’s difficult to do it better.

Despite that, Lenglet did admit that there are things he can learn from Real Madrid players who also come from France, like Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane.

“There’s no doubt that Benzema is one of the best French attackers in history; Varane is a very good player, with incredible experience; I take advantage to spy on everything good he does and copy it,” Lenglet admitted.

The 25-year-old has been a regular for Barcelona this season and will hope to maintain that in the search for the LaLiga Santander title.
