Real Madrid scored their first freekick for 528 days as Sergio Ramos found the back of the net against Real Mallorca.

Los Blancos have struggled to convert from dead-ball situations since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club, despite specialists like Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos remaining.

Ramos broke the drought in style with a magnificent freekick from the edge of the area to double Real Madrid’s advantage against Mallorca, his 69th LaLiga Santander goal.

Dani Ceballos was the last Real Madrid player to score directly from a freekick when he did so against Real Betis in January 2019.
