Truth Behind Comedian Cute Abiola’s Arrest. [Nigeria]

Advertisements

Hours ago, NobleReporters learnt of the arrest of popular Instagram comedian and Naval officer, The Cute Abiola also known as Ankara Gucci.

According to reports making the rounds, he was arrested after “after one of his overzealous fans made a video collage of his birthday pictures just to celebrate him. The video, however, went viral on WhatsApp and ended up with the Naval hierarchy.”

NobleReporters gathered, the Yoruba born Naval officer’s arrest was ordered by one of his superiors. A Captain who doesn’t like the fact that Cute Abiola is into entertainment and a Naval officer at the same time.

“It’s one of his superiors oh. A Captain who has warned Abiola several times to choose between entertainment and Navy. He said him posting such photos with uniform isn’t expected of an officer” N.Rs found

NobleReporters recalls that Cute Abiola in a now deleted post, had once taken to his Instagram page, sometime in 2019 to cry out about how a captain asked him to choose between both careers and talked about how depressed he was.

Advertisements

He wrote:

“Hello everybody. I need to talk to all of you.No much introduction. You all that are following me knows me already! What I love doing is comedy and to always make you laugh. You all know that. I never want to type this but I can’t just hold it anymore.

I’m in serious pain. And I am in a great fear because I am not able to focus on my comedy career like before. I am typing this with tears and a lot of depression. If not everybody. I know that some of you knows that I am a NIGERIA NAVY PERSONAL . but before I joined this job .i did not think so deep and I was carried away because of some lies I was told.

Let me keep that for now! I thought as I joined the job I would get more peace but not knowing that I actually sold my peace away!!! . I thought I would be able to do my comedy and acting together with the navy job but it’s not just easy to cope with both.

Advertisements

I joined this NAVY on the 7th of March 2018 if you remember very well and I come back to you guys on the 8th of September after I finished my 6month malicious training. Those that knew me as a celebrity on the training ground those days called me a fool and told me I did not plan well before joining.

I was just so depressed those days. And I moved on with faith. Because I just wanted to finished the training and know what next if I would be able to cope with my acting career and the navy . To say the fact.

This job has given me a lot of respect but all the same . You guys don’t know wat I am feeling. Let me tell you the truth . Not that I have the time . Some times I would just sneak out of my office and change up to do videos for you my fans just to remain consistent and never to make you forget Your ANKARAGUCCI .

Advertisements

So these days, a captain in the Navy threatens me a lot and told me to pick one. Am I choosing navy or entertainment?. That if I am to do the navy Job I must leave acting or else ……….. or else what please? for what ?

For crying out loud . I can’t leave this comedy alone . It’s what I have passion for. I have a lot of advert skit now that I never shoot and I lost my Samsung s7 edge last week . I also lost my 31 skits on it .just need to get a solution ASAP. I am not an happy man”

A mobile police officer and a soldier were filmed arguing over who is superior between them.

“You don’t know your senior, abi? Am I your mate?” The police officer said, pointing his finger in the soldier’s face.

“Are you my senior?” The soldier countered, adding, “God will punish you. Are you my senior?”

Releases will be granted to ‘just about anyone’ that asks at this time

Advertisements

The company have already made mass cuts during the coronavirus pandemic, with over 25 members of the roster and additional backstage staff sent packing earlier in April.

Advertisements

On Tuesday, it was announced that Cain Velasquez had also been let go from his ‘huge contract’ after just one short match in WWE.

The former UFC heavyweight champion wrestled just once – losing to Brock Lesnar in two minutes and 10 seconds at the Crown Jewel event last year.

Now it seems more announcements could be on the way because anyone else that requests a release will be allowed to walk.

That’s according to Wrestle Votes, which wrote on Twitter:

“Hearing from a few different sources that WWE is willing to grant a release to ‘just about anyone’ who requests one.

“Basically if a talent wants out, they can go. Will be interesting to see if anyone REALLY does want out, especially during this uncertain time.”

Hearing from a few different sources that WWE is willing to grant a release to “just about anyone” who requests one. Basically if a talent wants out, they can go. Will be interesting to see if anyone REALLY does want out, especially during this uncertain time.
It seems then, we should be preparing ourselves for news about more Superstars being released.

But the last point is important. Will anyone – regardless of their situation in WWE – really want to leave amid the coronavirus pandemic?

Advertisements

As it stands, they will all be getting a steady income and sadly, the same can’t be said for those who have been cut.

WWE stars are still getting paid amid the coronavirus crisis
Many employees will probably be thankful to still have a job during the COVID-19 crisis, so it’s hard to see any member of the roster actively looking to leave.

Plus, those who were said to be unhappy – most notably The Revival – were amongst the first to leave.

The Revival have been released by WWE
Of course, we don’t know exactly what’s going on backstage right now, so it will certainly be interesting to see if any more cuts are announced.

COVID-19: No One Will Be Sacked – FG Reacts To Mass Job Loss Fears. [Nigeria]

Advertisements

The Federal Government says it will work to ensure that there are no job losses or mass sack in Nigeria due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said this on Thursday, in his May Day message signed by his spokesman, Emmanuel Nzomiwu.

Ngige assured that the government would look at the four-pillar plan of policy responses to the pandemic laid out by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

The minister disclosed that all relevant factors to the nation’s workforce would be identified, analysed and solidified to ensure job retention.

He stated that the government would not encourage employers to disengage any member of their staff without the prerequisite social dialogue and clearance from the ministry.

Advertisements

Ngige commended workers in the health sector for being in the frontline of ensuring that the raging pandemic was contained.

“Over the years, May 1 has been a unique day in the world of work. It is a day dedicated to workers as partners in socio-economic development of nations,” he said.

“The COVID-19 outbreak has affected modes of work and the utilisation of teleworking is on the increase. As you work from home, I urge you to do your best in that regard and to endeavour to demarcate your personal life from work,” he said.

Advertisements

Ngige said that the Federal Government was not unmindful of the fact that businesses in both the private and public sectors had suffered.

“Sustainability of the enterprise has become a subject of concern. The worries precipitated by the COVID-19 crisis are further compounded by worries of maintaining a source of livelihood.”, he added.

How the break in football helps Hazard

Advertisements

Football’s return from the coronavirus-enforced break is still up in the air, but there is focus at Real Madrid on getting Eden Hazard back into prime shape in case action does resume.

Advertisements

The Belgian is still recovering from the ankle operation that he underwent on March 5 after suffering an injury at Levante.

It was initially thought that two to three months would be needed for him to make his way back onto the pitch, which looked to have prematurely ended his first season at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

But the coronavirus’ spread changed everything and now there is some hope that he could play again this season should 2019/20 ever resume.

The next step is for the players to return to training at Valdebebas, where the No.7 hopes he can continue his recovery and eventually get back into Zinedine Zidane’s XI.

Advertisements

His ankle is already at about 70 percent as he’s working at home with the support of a club physiotherapist.

He does, of course, need to catch up with other types of exercises, notably on-field work, but the same could be said of his teammates as well.

Injuries have plagued Hazard’s maiden campaign in white, but he’ll be hopeful that the glimpses of brilliance he’s shown at times this term can become a more regular feature in the not too distant future.

Dortmund Tables Offer For Barca’s ANsu Fati

Advertisements

Ansu Fati is, without a doubt, one of the important cases to look at, at Barca. His grand eruption confirmed him as one of the talents the club will lean on in the future. They are debating about him at the club because they know new signings will restrict his playtime. They think he’s ready to play regularly and that may be elsewhere, for now. Barca have received an offer from Borussia Dortmund for the youth player.

Advertisements

Relations between the clubs have improved since the argument there was over Dembele’s signing. Dortmund know that it is impossible to keep Jadon Sancho so are looking for other wingers.

Dortmund’s request did not surprise Barca, given various Liga clubs want Ansu on loan too. With Dembele recovering, Messi, Suarez and Griezmann in the squad, and Neymar and Lautaro Martinez on the wishlist, Ansu’s short-term future at Barca looks complicated. They don’t want to freeze him out and stop him progressing. He’s shown he’s ready to play at the top level.

No doors are shut to Ansu. He is young and needs time to become a key player and going to Dortmund could foster that. The club helps youngsters grow.

Barca would only consider a loan deal and know Ansu can shine for them for many years. He recently renewed his contract until 2022 with an option for two more years and a 170m euro release clause, which will turn to a 400m one in the moment he has his first professional contract with the first team.

The club want to move calmly, given the age of the player. Other options beyond Dortmund may appear. It depends on who they can bring in too. If no attacking stars arrive, Ansu may take the step up to the next level at Camp Nou.

Rivaldo: Willian could do well at Barcelona

Advertisements

Willian “could do well” at Barcelona if he opts to head for Camp Nou as a free agent says Rivaldo, but a reunion with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho at Tottenham is another “good option”.

Advertisements

As things stand, the 31-year-old is due to be out of contract in the summer.

The Brazil international has stated that he will stay on at Stamford Bridge to complete the 2019-20 campaign if the green light is given to play to a finish amid the coronavirus pandemic.

No fresh terms have been agreed, though, and Willian appears destined to be playing his football outside of west London next season. Various landing spots have been mooted, with the South American said to have registered on Barca’s radar for some time.

Rivaldo can see why a fellow countryman would appeal to the Blaugrana, telling Betfair: “Willian has been linked in the past with Barcelona and I think he could do well there, because of his personality and ability to make the difference at important moments.

“In the last few years, Barcelona has signed some big players, like Antoine Griezmann, who are yet to produce their best football with Lionel Messi by their side. Perhaps the responsibility and pressure has been too much for them.

Advertisements

“I do not know how it would work for Willian, but what I’m suggesting is that Barcelona need to consider carefully their signings for big money as things have not gone so well recently in the transfer market for them.

“Players seem to get intimidated by Messi’s presence, and that has been a recent problem for the club. The club need to carefully evaluate a player’s personality, weigh up his ability to succeed and impose himself at Camp Nou.”

While Barca would be an enticing option for any player, Willian has stated in the past that he hopes to remain in England. With that in mind, Rivaldo believes the hard-working forward may be tempted to have a second spell working under Mourinho.

The 2002 World Cup winner said: “Willian is attracting some headlines in England as his contract with Chelsea is expiring this summer and there are strong rumours that he may move to a London rival soon.

Advertisements

“Yes, Willian is already playing at a big club, but he has been there for a long time and perhaps he needs a new challenge to recapture his will and motivation at this point in his career in the Premier League.

“A move to Tottenham could be a good option, especially because Willian would reunite with his former coach Jose Mourinho there, and the pair seem to have a good relationship. Furthermore, we all know that Mourinho has a special affection for Brazilian players and I am sure he would give lots of opportunities to Willian at Spurs.”

‘He will be one of the greatest’ – Totti hails Inter & Juventus target Tonali

Advertisements

Francesco Totti reveals he tried to sign Nicolò Barella for Roma and advised them to do anything possible to get Brescia’s Sandro Tonali.

Advertisements

Barella ended up joining Inter from Cagliari last summer in a deal worth €12m for the loan and another €25m to buy outright.

“He was one of my favourites. I tried to bring him to Roma as soon as possible, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get it done,” Totti told TV presenter Paolo Bonolis in an Instagram Live interview.

Although he is no longer working for Roma, but acting as a freelance talent scout, who would Totti like to snap up now?

“I’d do anything to get Tonali. In my view, he’ll become one of the best midfielders in the world. He has everything that a great player should have – technically gifted, good mentality and is always sharp in any situation.”

Brescia are asking for €50m, but Tonali is still admired by Inter, Juventus, Milan, Roma, Napoli, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG.

Only Mbappe valued higher than Sancho right now

Advertisements

Manchester City should be asking questions of how Jadon Sancho slipped their net, says Dietmar Hamann, saying the Borussia Dortmund winger is now sat behind only Kylian Mbappe when it comes to the top-rated talent in Europe.

Advertisements

Having taken the decision to leave the Etihad Stadium in 2017, the product of City’s academy system opted to try his luck in Germany.

Sancho has starred for Dortmund, earning senior international recognition with England along the way, and is now sparking talk of a £100 million ($125m) return to the Premier League.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are among those said to be keen on the 20-year-old forward, with Hamann admitting it is easy to see why interest is building. For the former City and Liverpool midfielder, only Paris Saint-Germain’s World Cup-winning striker Mbappe sits above Sancho when it comes to the “highest valued” players on the market.

Advertisements

Hamann told Sky Sports: “In Dortmund, we’ve seen in the past that they can develop players when given time.

“When he first came, he had a bit of a rough start for the first few months, but the last 12 to 18 months, you have to say he’s probably been the best player in the Bundesliga and I’m not surprised there’s huge interest in England to take him back.

“We had [Ousmane] Dembele here a few years ago before he went to Barcelona [and he] never really recovered, but I’ve rarely seen a player in the last decade who beats players or defenders purely with skill. He’s in double figures again this season with nine or 10 games to go in assists and in goals.

“I’d probably make him the highest valued player. If you look at Mbappe, he might be the only one who’s valued higher than Sancho now. This is how good he’s been.

Advertisements

“I think it would be a major act for Dortmund to keep him this summer.

“I just wonder what they think at Manchester City because they must have seen that he’s got something, otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible for him to perform the way he did over the past 18 months.”

Sancho hit 17 goals and teed up 19 more for grateful team-mates prior to competitive football being shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Arsenal Shows interest in Milan’s bonaventura

Advertisements

AC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura is attracting interest from Premier League side Arsenal, according to the latest reports from England.

Advertisements

Bonaventura joined Milan back in 2014 but it looks as though his stay at San Siro is set to end after six years, with his deal expiring once the current campaign is over and no sign of an imminent renewal.

A tactically flexible midfielder who offers experience and quality, it has been reportedly recently that there are four Serie A side who are currently in the running to land the 30-year-old, namely Atalanta, Fiorentina, Roma and Lazio.

According to MilanNews though – who cite The Sun – Arsenal have become the latest team to enter the race to land Bonaventura, who would of course be available on a free transfer.

The Gunners have been looking to add depth to their midfield amid doubts over the futures of Dani Ceballos and Milan-linked Lucas Torreira.

‘Grealish too good for Villa’ – Teammate admits captain destined to leave

Advertisements

Conor Hourihane has admitted Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is ‘too good’ for his side and destined for a big move.

Advertisements

An impressive season in the Premier League has seen the midfielder linked with several of the division’s top clubs, with Manchester United the favourites to secure his signature.

Hourihane believes the 24-year-old has taken his game to the next level in recent seasons and thinks it is only a matter of time before Gareth Southgate gives him his first England call-up.

‘He’s top, top class. In terms of pure ability and sheer skill and technique level he’s easily the best player I’ve played with to date,’ he told the Southern Star’s podcast.

‘He’s just got that gift. He runs quicker with the ball, when he faces someone up you’re in real trouble. He’s skipping by the best players in this league so easily.

Advertisements

‘He’s developed over the three years I’ve been here – he’s taken his game to a new level – especially this year in the Premier League.

‘He’s taken it by storm really. You know, England team and getting that big move is only a matter of time because, if I’m being brutally honest, he’s too good for our team at Aston Villa.’

Villa were in a relegation battle before the suspension of football due to coronavirus but the midfielder has still managed nine goals and eight assists across all competitions.

Grealish made headlines for the wrong reasons at the end of March after he broke government lockdown rules to attend a party at the apartment of his former team-mate Ross McCormack.

He allegedly crashed his £70,000 Range Rover into two other vehicles, leaving the scene before the police were called.

He later posted an apology on Twitter, saying he was ‘deeply embarrassed’ after his actions.

Serie A will still be relegations & promotions with 20 teams

Advertisements

The COVID-19 pandemic is moving into Phase Two from May 4, with deaths, intensive care admissions and positive cases all dropping rapidly.

Advertisements

Nonetheless, the Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora has warned Serie A will not be allowed to resume unless there is a full agreement on the medical protocol.

A videoconference was held today between various unions, including the Players’ Association, Coaches’ Association, Referees’ Association and FIGC.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the outcome was Plan B, assuring that if the season is terminated early, there will nonetheless be promotions and relegations this summer.

That means next term the Serie A season will continue to have 20 clubs, as there had been an option to not relegate anyone and promote two from Serie B, creating a 22-side structure.

Another upshot was that if UEFA change their limit of August 2 for the domestic tournaments to conclude, then they are prepared to continue the 2019-20 season well into August and even September.

See what Kün aguero Says over players fear of coronavirus

Advertisements

Sergio Aguero has become the most high-profile footballer to raise misgivings over the Premier League’s potential hastened return.

The Manchester City striker admitted health concerns are at the forefront of minds among squads set to restart training next month despite the death toll from coronavirus staying high.

Advertisements

Clubs are working towards resuming training on May 11, with a stronger picture set to emerge from talks on Friday. Aguero made it clear that players hold reservations.

‘The majority of players are scared because they have family, they have children, they have babies, parents,’ he said.

‘When we go back, I imagine that we will be very tense, we will be very careful, and the moment someone feels ill, you will think: “What’s gone on there?” I hope there is a vaccine so all this ends.

‘It does scare me but I have just been here with my girlfriend. I haven’t had contact with other people.

‘They say that there are people who have it but who don’t have symptoms and they can infect you.

Advertisements

‘That’s why I’ve stayed at home. You can be infected and you don’t know anything about it.’

Aguero has remained in Manchester during lockdown, although a number of his team-mates are still abroad. Premier League stars have been asked to consider flying back in the event of a quick return.

UEFA also looking at completing the current Champions League campaign later this summer, with City holding a 2-1 advantage over Real Madrid in the last 16.

‘Fifteen days ago, we were told about a return date [to training] and that was May 4,’ Aguero added. ‘Now there is a new meeting. It will be difficult to play the Champions League in August.’

To mark 28th birthday of Ter Stegen, here’s 10 reasons why Barca must keep him

Advertisements

To mark the 28th birthday of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, we present 10 simple facts as to why Barcelona should do what they can to keep him.

Happy birthday, Marc-Andre ter Stegen – the most decorated goalkeeper in Europe’s top-five leagues in recent years.

Advertisements

Barcelona’s number one has lifted 14 trophies for club and country (13 for Barca and the Confederations Cup for Germany) since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach for the Blaugrana in 2014. Nobody else can match that.

And yet, Ter Stegen’s future is uncertain. His contract expires in 2022 and, with the Catalan giants already in something of an economic uncertainty before the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, it is unclear whether they will be able to agree fresh terms with the player.

Ter Stegen has always appeared happy to stay at Camp Nou, though, and when you look at the numbers, it certainly makes sense for Barcelona to do their utmost to tie him down.

We’ve gone through the Opta archives and picked out five key stats relating to his performances in LaLiga and the Champions League, compared to the rest of Spain and Europe.

These facts and figures stretch back to May 22, 2014 – the day Ter Stegen signed his first Barca contract to become their player – and only include those keepers to make at least 20 appearances in each competition.

Given he was not the undisputed first choice for the first two years and did not even play a LaLiga match until September 2015, the numbers are firmly on his side…

141 LaLiga appearances:

  • Only Jan Oblak (99) has kept more clean sheets than Ter Stegen (58).
  • No keeper has made more successful passes (3,453), and only former team-mate Claudio Bravo (82.4 per cent) can beat Ter Stegen for passing accuracy (82.2 per cent)
  • No keeper has more assists (two, the same as Ivan Cuellar and Antonio Adan). Indeed, Ter Stegen was the first Barca keeper this century to assist a league goal.
  • Only three keepers (Oblak, Cuellar and Sergio Asenjo) have made more saves from shots outside the box than Ter Stegen (156).
  • Only three keepers (Alphonse Areola, Oblak and Bravo) have a better goals-conceded-per-game rate than Ter Stegen (0.92).
Advertisements

58 Champions League appearances:

  • No keeper has kept more clean sheets (26) than Ter Stegen or played more matches.
  • No keeper has made more saves than Ter Stegen (156). Four of those were from penalties – only Andriy Pyatov can match that tally.
  • Only Oblak (66) has saved more from shots from outside the box than Ter Stegen (60).
  • No keeper has made more successful passes (1,292) than Ter Stegen. Only Germany rival Manuel Neuer (81.1) has a better passing accuracy (80.9).
  • Only Neuer (38) and Ederson (33) have made more accurate keeper sweepings than Ter Stegen (32).

Man who reject son gets appointment from Ekiti Governor. [Nigeria]

Kemi Filani News recalls that Mr Femi Adeoye went viral on Wednesday after he reported his son for sneaking into Ekiti from Lagos.

The Ekiti State Government announced the appointment in a statement on Thursday.

The Ekiti government commended Adeoye, “for refusing to cover-up his son’s travel history and for denying him access into the house without confirming his COVID-19 status. Mr Adeoye epitomizes the Ekiti ethos of selflessness, which places greater premium on the collective good of the society above personal and emotional considerations. This is the core of the Values Orientation policy of the Fayemi-led Administration.”

The statement further reads “He will help to propagate the message as a member of the COVID-19 Task Force in the State.By, in accordance with existing regulations, denying his son entry into his household having travelled from places under Federal lockdown against his fatherly advice, Mr. Adeoye has proved to be a worthy ambassador of Ekiti State resolve to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government and the good people of Ekiti State are very proud of this chivalrous act of courage and principle which are the hallmarks of the Ekiti person. Mr. Adeoye represents the kind of self-discipline, selflessness, and sense of collective responsibility that Ekiti State and Nigeria need desperately today to progress.

Ekiti State will in future recognise Mr. Adeoye’s valour as an example of the rebirth of Ekiti Values Orientation which is the central focus of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration.”

Adeoye, retired road safety officer, had been seen in a video which went viral on social media asking his son to get tested for Coronavirus or isolate himself for 14 days before he would allow him into the house.

His son was said to have defied his instruction to remain in Lagos until the pandemic was over by traveling from Lagos to Ekiti State despite the lockdown in those states.

Governor Fayemi hosted Adeoye at the Ekiti State government house on Thursday, where he handed him his appointment letter.

Facebook’s new development will shock you.

Advertisements

Facebook will allow users in the United States and Canada to transfer photos and videos to a rival tech platform for the first time – a step that could assuage antitrust concerns by giving users an option to easily leave the company’s services, the social media network said on Thursday.

The tool lets Facebook users transfer data stored on its servers directly to another photo storage service, in this case Google Photos – a feature known as data portability.

U.S. and Canadian users will be able to access the tool through their Facebook accounts starting Thursday. The function has already been launched in several countries including in Europe and Latin America.

It allows the social media company to give users more control over their data and respond to U.S. regulators and lawmakers who are investigating its competitive practices and allegations it has stifled competition.

Advertisements

The U.S. launch also comes ahead of a hearing set up by the Federal Trade Commission on Sept. 22 to examine the potential benefits and challenges of data portability. Control of data that hurts competition has become a critical topic in the antitrust debate in the United States and Europe.

Facebook’s Director of Privacy and Public Policy Steve Satterfield said over the past couple of years, the company heard calls from policymakers and regulators asking it to facilitate choice, make it easier for people to choose new providers and move their data to new services.

“So it really is an important part of the response to the kinds of concerns that drive antitrust regulation or competition regulation,” Satterfield told Reuters in an interview.

Advertisements

He said the company would be open to participating in the FTC hearing if the agency approaches them.

Data portability is a requirement under Europe’s privacy law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California’s privacy law called the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA).
