Calls have been made from about 50 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) asking the United Nations and the African Union to intervene in the Federal Government’s case against the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr Omoyele Sowore.

DG, NCAC: Bobrisky is a national disaster, worse than Ebola disease, serious hazards!

Olusegun Runsewe, the Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), on Saturday slammed Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye, saying his impact on society is worse than Ebola’s.

Runsewe said Bobrisky poses ”serious hazards” to Nigerian youths. According to Runsewe, if Bobrisky’s activities were not promptly curtailed, the resultant effect would be worse than Ebola outbreak. He said Nigerian youths deserved to be protected from imitating the crossdresser.

Runsewe urged Nigerian youths to stop imitating Bobrisky, by remaining ”responsible and good ambassadors of the nation.”

”Bobrisky is a national disaster, an embarrassment to the country, engaging in cultural corruption as a cross-dresser and we have to start to curtail his activities before it gets out of hand. We will not allow Bobrisky to destroy the future of our youths and the unborn Nigerians,” he said.

Runsewe said that when the cross-dresser’s birthday was halted in Lekki, Lagos by the police recently, it was revealed that he had been training some Nigerian youths to toe the same line with him. He said immediately the cross dresser’s party was halted a good number of the boys he was training left him. “So that was an achievement”, he said.

According to him, Bobrisky’s activities negate the culture and tradition of the nation and he could be excused to go to other climes where such culture of being a cross-gender would be tolerated. Runsewe urged parents to guide their wards not to emulate Bobrisky but take after ‘responsible’ celebrities in the society.

Athlete Divine Oduduru got disqualified from IAAF championship. (Reasons)

Top Nigerian sprinter Divine Oduduru has been disqualified from taking part in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Doha, after pulling out of Friday’s 100m event.

Oduduru ran foul of one of the competition rules which resulted in a stiff punishment from the world athletics body, IAAF. Oduduru had pulled out of the 100m event on Friday to focus on the 200m but the decision has ruled him out of the event and he will not also be part of the team’s relays, according to the IAAF rule.

Oduduru was initially entered for three events in the Men 100m, 200m and 4x100m relays. However, on the eve of his participation, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN tweeted that he had opted to ‘concentrate’ on the 200m and pulled out of the 100m which he had been registered for.

Allowing him to have his way was a gaffe on the part of the AFN as the competition rules does not allow such last-minute withdrawals.

Consequently, on event day Oduduru was not listed in the Men’s 200m heat, because of the violation in the regulations.

With Oduduru technically knocked off, only Emmanuel Arowolo will represent Nigeria in the event which is starting on Sunday.

An excerpt of the competition rules states:

At all competitions under Rules 1.1(a), (b), (c) and (f), an athlete shall be excluded from participation in all further events (including other events in which he is simultaneously participating) in the competition, including relays, in cases where: (a) a final confirmation was given that the athlete would start in an event but then failed to participate;

Note: A fixed time for the final confirmation of participation shall be published in advance. At the African Games, Oduduru also opted out of the 100m and only competed in the 200m and 4x100m races where he won silver medals.

The AFN is yet to issue any official statement on the obvious technical gaffe that has further trimmed Nigeria’s slim chances of winning any medal in Doha.

Meanwhile, the duo of Raymond Ekevwo and Rilwanu Alowonle who competed in the semifinal of the 100m and 400m Hurdles events on Saturday both failed to make it to the finals having finished 5th and 8th respectively.

Xenophobia or Afrophobia : Ex – President, Olusegun Obasanjo Advises Nigerians to return home. (See reasons below).

Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Nigerians evacuated from South Africa following the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in the Rainbow Nation to get ready to go back saying he’s confident the meeting between President Buhari and Cyril Ramaphosa, next month will yield a positive outcome.

Obasanjo who spoke on Saturday, September 28th in his Abeokuta residence said Buhari and Ramaphosa should be ready to make the right statements that would encourage the Nigerians who returned home to go back to South Africa.

When asked by reporters what he discussed with Ramaphosa last week, he said, “I took the opportunity of being in South Africa to actually pay a courtesy call on President Cyril Ramaphosa and he quickly granted me the opportunity. One of the major things we discussed was this issue of xenophobia or Afrophobia.

“The President told me that there was so much at stake and whatever mistake we had made, we had to correct it. And I think that was a very good statement and I know that he meant it, because he immediately said ‘what can we do or should we do?’

Obasanjo also advised South Africans to tread softly on the issue of foreigners seeking opportunities in their country.

“The idea of thinking or saying that foreigners are taking your jobs should be killed, because most of these foreigners paid something into the country. I met more than two Nigerians who are doing legitimate businesses and the turnover runs into millions of dollars and they employed 50 to 60 South Africans.

“All these must be expressed and must be shown that Nigerians in South Africa are not drug peddlers and criminals; there are many of them that are genuine businessmen and professionals and who are making meaningful contributions to the economy and the social life of that country.

“I think that is all we must be doing and be saying and my joy is that President Cyril Ramaphosa is ready to do what needs to be done to stop these incidents and to put the relationship between Nigeria and South Africa on the right track. One of the things they are going to do between South Africa and Nigeria is that they are going to have what we established during my tenure – that we called bilateral commission.”

On the Nigerians evacuated from South Africa, Obasanjo said, “I hope they will go back to the South Africa from what I heard from President Ramaphosa. Like I said, the meeting that President Buhari and President Ramaphosa will have during the first week of October should smooth the ground. And the right statements and the right action coming from both sides should encourage our people to go back. But, as I have always said that Nigerians living outside Nigeria must try to be good citizens of wherever they live.”

According to him, Ramophosa is ready to bring back the mutual understanding between Nigeria and South Africa. He said, “I believe the President of South Africa did the right thing to quickly send emissaries to apologise to the countries that were affected (xenophobic attacks), countries like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique and I think this was good.”

Ex-presidential candidate, Omoleye Sowore to face another judge on the 30th of September.

The Federal Government will on Monday, September 30th arraign Sahara Reporters publisher Omoyele Sowore, before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

According to a report by Punch, he is to be arraigned on seven counts of treasonable felony, money laundering, and cyber crimes which were instituted against him by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

The Department of State Service, which has been detaining the former presidential candidate since August 3, continues to hold him in custody in violation of the court order granting him bail six days ago.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo, who earlier on August 8, granted the DSS permission to hold the activist for 45, had on September 24, granted him bail. Despite meeting the bail condition on September 25, Sowore has not been released by the DSS.

Sources also confirm that the criminal case instituted against Sowore was not assigned to Justice Taiwo Taiwo, but to Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, who has subsequently fixed Monday for arraignment.

In the charges instituted against the defendants, the prosecution accused Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare, of committing conspiracy to commit a treasonable felony in breach of Section 516 of the Criminal Code Act.

The prosecution alleged that the defendants committed the offense by allegedly staging “a revolution campaign on August 5, 2019, aimed at removing the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ” The prosecution also accused them of committing the actual offense of treasonable felony in breach of section, 4(1)(c) of the Criminal Code Act, by using the platform of Coalition for Revolution, on August 2019 in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of Nigeria, to stage the #RevolutionNow protest allegedly aimed at removing the President.

It also accused Sowore of cybercrime offences in violation of section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention) Act, by “knowingly” sending “messages by means of press interview granted on Arise Television network which you knew to be false for the purpose of causing insult, enmity, hatred and ill-will on the person of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

It also accused Sowore of money laundering offences in breach of section 15(1) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 by alleged transferring by means of swift wire, various sums of money from his United Bank of Africa Plc account with number 3002246104 into Sahara Reporters Media Foundation’s account with Guaranty Trust Bank in order to conceal the origin of the funds.

This monumental structures are dedicated for satan – Reno Omokri claims with biblical verses. (Details)

Reno Omokri shared photos of some structures built in Western countries and alleged that they are dedicated to satan. He then shared biblical passages to back his claim.

He shared photos of structures in London, Rome, Washington D.C. and New York and said they are the “Asherah Pole, a pagan idol” which “God detests and warns believers to avoid”.

He wrote:

1 Kings 16:33, 2 Kings 23:6, Deuteronomy 16:21, Exodus 34:13 and many other verses of Scripture instruct us that an Asherah Pole is a pagan idol God detests and warns believers to avoid. But what is an Asherah Pole? Google it and check the images that describe it. An Asherah Pole is simply a phallic pole dedicated to satan. Almost all major cities in the West have an Asherah Pole hidden in plain sight!? #TableShaker
